Two new LEGO Batman Batmobile Tumbler sets are now available for preorder at the LEGO Batman section of the Online LEGO Shop. One is a re-release of an older set, and the other is a brand-new minifig scale set. Below are the details.
The #76240 LEGO Batman Tumbler is a remake of the #76023 LEGO Batman Tumbler from 2014. The vehicles appear to be almost identical, and both include Batman and the Joker, but their outfits and the minifig stands are different. In addition, the new version of the Tumbler comes with a rotating display stand, which was not included with the original set. The first image below is of the new Tumbler, and the second image is of the older one.
Here is the official description of the set: The impressive build-and-display Tumbler from the Dark Knight trilogy of Batman movies features an opening roof, which provides access to the driver and passenger seats and control panel. Batman and The Joker minifigures are included with a stand. With a sturdy base to display the finished model at its best, your recreation of the Tumbler will provide pleasure long after the hands-on work has been completed. The vehicle measures over 6 in. (16 cm) high, 17 in. (45 cm) long and 9 in. (25 cm) wide. The set comes with 2,049 pieces and the price is $229.99. The release date is November 1st, and you can already pre-order it at the LEGO Batman section of the Online LEGO Shop.
The second new set is the #76239 LEGO Batmobile Scarecrow Showdown. It is a smaller, minifig-scale version of the iconic vehicle. Here is the official description: The Tumbler Batmobile from the Dark Knight trilogy of Batman movies, is one of the most iconic, battle-ready vehicles in cinema history. It has an opening roof, which provides access to the driver and passenger seats and control panel. There are 2 stud-shooters fitted to the front of the vehicle. There’s even somewhere to store the Batarang. Two minifigures are included: Batman, with a Batarang, grappling gun, and alternative ‘nightmare’ head, and the Scarecrow, with a stud-shooter and toxic fear gas canister. When the battle action is over for the day, the Tumbler Batmobile looks awesome on display. The vehicle measures over 2.5 in. (7 cm) high, 7.5 in. (19 cm) long and 4.5 in. (12 cm) wide. The set comes with 422 pieces and the price is $39.99. The release date is October 1st, and you can already pre-order it at the LEGO Batman section of the Online LEGO Shop.
The first set should appeal to collectors who missed out on the original Collector Edition Tumbler, and the second set will be great for those who prefer minifig-scale vehicles. It’s interesting to see that while in the past, LEGO was very much against re-releasing sets, now they are doing it regularly. I’m sure they watch their numbers carefully to see if this approach works. For currently available sets with the Caped Crusader, visit the LEGO Batman section of the Online LEGO Shop.
