LEGO Icons The Endurance Expedition Ship Coming!

Yesterday, the LEGO Group unveiled the #10335 LEGO Icons The Endurance set. This beautiful ship allows history enthusiasts and LEGO fans to embark on a voyage of creativity and recreate Sir Ernest Shackleton’s iconic vessel in stunning detail.

In 2022, one hundred years after Sir Ernest Shackleton passed away, the wreckage of his most legendary ship, The Endurance, was rediscovered on the seafloor off the coast of Antarctica. Although the ship remains where it was found, the story of the doomed voyage, and how the crew survived, has elevated Shackelton’s journey to one of the most amazing stories of human resilience ever.

The 3,011-piece set replica model captures the majestic presence of the famous ship in all its glory, with 3 towering masts, 10 full sails, a flying red ensign flag, and intricate rigging. The detailed multi-level deck, connected by stairs, has removable sections for access to port and starboard cabins and the ship’s steam engine. Other features include 4 detachable lifeboats, a chained bower anchor, and a ship’s wheel that operates the rudder. Ideal for collectors who have a passion for historical ships, and a great decorative piece that includes a sturdy stand for display. The ship measures over 18.5 in. (47 cm) high, 31.5 in. (80 cm) long and 9.5 in. (24 cm) wide.

The Endurance ship was the three-masted ship that sailed for The Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition from 1914–1917 and is considered  the last major expedition of the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration. Led by Sir Ernest Shackleton, the British explorer, the goal of the Antarctic Expedition was to cross the Antarctic continent from sea to sea via the South Pole. However, the expedition faced severe challenges, and Shackleton and his crew were stranded on the ice for months. Demonstrating extraordinary leadership and determination, Shackleton led his men on a harrowing journey to safety.

The #10335 LEGO Icons The Endurance set is going to be available from the 29th of November at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop. Prices are as follows: £229.99 / €269.99/ $269.99. For more pictures and details, visit the LEGO Icons section of the Online LEGO Shop.

In addition, between the 29th of November and the 2nd of December, all purchases of the LEGO Icons Endurance set will include the #40729 LEGO Icons Shackleton’s Lifeboat as a free gift. The set features the legendary lifeboat salvaged from the icebound ship Endurance to navigate treacherous Antarctic terrain, ultimately leading to the rescue of the ship’s entire crew. This set includes Captain Sir Ernest Shackleton and photographer Frank Hurley minifigures, plus accessories including a camera, stove, oars, and a sleigh. LEGO Insiders only, membership required, all stores and online. While supplies last.

2025 LEGO Chinese New Year Sets

LEGO has released some beautifully colorful and festive sets celebrating Chinese New Year. They are popular with collectors as the sets contain unique elements, colors, minifigures, and printed parts. The 2025 LEGO Chinese New Year Sets will be available in January of next year, but they are already listed at the Online LEGO Shop. So let’s take a look!

The #40813 LEGO Chinese New Year Lucky Cat is based on a popular good-luck decor piece that’s said to bring prosperity and fortune into the home. It has cute smiling eyes, whiskers, blushing cheeks, paw pads, and tail. You can choose to decorate the tummy panel with either the gold coin sticker or the written wish for good fortune sticker. The paw has a pendulum waving action to replicate the beckoning movement of traditional Lucky Cat figurines. Comes with 280 pieces. Price: $19.99. Will be available starting January 1st at the seasonal items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

The #80116 LEGO Chinese New Year Trotting Lantern is a really interesting set with some wonderful details. First of all, it features a light-brick that’s activated by pressing down on the rotating central column. A choice of two alternative silhouette windows is included to create different lighting effects. The top of the lantern is removable for easy access to the top tier (also removable), which folds out to reveal three festive scenes featuring a buildable food stall, a decorations stall, and a shadow theater. The set also includes five minifigures; 2 adults, 2 children, and a character in a Year of the Snake costume. Comes with 1,295 pieces. Price: $129.99. Will be available starting January 1st at the seasonal items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

The #80117 LEGO Chinese New Year Good Fortune model showcases iconic objects that symbolize a future filled with love, good health, prosperity, and joy: a beautiful fan decorated with two magpies (a reminder that good things come in pairs!) flying above a branch of spring blossoms, a vase of fortune red fruit, persimmon fruit, golden ingots, and a calligraphy pen with a scroll showing Chinese text meaning ’spring’. The set also features two design options for the fan (instructions included) and the other items can be removed from the base so builders can create their own unique, festive home decor. Comes with 1,021 pieces. Price: $89.99. Will be available starting January 1st at the seasonal items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

My favorite of the three is definitely the lantern, although the fan and other items also have some beautiful details. While we’re waiting for the new sets, you can also take a look at some of the earlier LEGO Chinese New Year sets at the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? Do you collect the LEGO Chinese New Year sets? And how do you like next year’s sets? Which is your favorite? Are you planning to add them to your collection? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!
