We have been talking about the LEGO Lord of the Rings sets extensively, but there was one exclusive Lord of the Rings set it was not possible to get good images for – until know. It is the #9476 LEGO Lord of the Rings – The Orc Forge. This set is a Target exclusive, and is in stock right now on Target’s website for $39.99 (not sold in stores). For a better look at all the awesome details just click the image; it will open a larger view. 😉
At least to me, this is one of the most exciting LEGO Lord of the Rings sets. I’m a builder and MOC-er, not so much a collector, so I always look at the usefulness of the LEGO elements in a set. All the dark-tan, brown and gray elements here look very useful, not to speak of that beautiful brown printed wood-grain tile! Also notice some of the new olive-green! The armor-pieces, weapons and shields are a LEGO army-builder’s dream, and the minifigures look deliciously evil! 😈
One thing I noticed though is that LEGO got rid of one of the Orcs in this set. As you may remember; in the preliminary images and video review there were five Orcs included. Now there are only four…

First Post! 😀 IM SO EXCITED FOR THESE SETS WOOO! 😀
P.s I wish the Lego club magazine showed us more. 😉
Where is the wood grain tile? 😕
Tydroid, the tile is right in the middle of the picture. If you enlarge the image by clicking on it you will see it better. Look right below the middle Orc, standing on top of the forge. 😉
I agree, the Detail is better than the other LOTR Sets. 😉 I will use The Armor for a new Castle MOC 😆 Other than that still very good! 🙂
Cool!
I am very tempted to buy this from Target, especially with the poster bonus and if I use my Redcard then I get 5% off and free shipping. But I just don’t have it in my budget to buy any LotR yet. It’s supposed to be June’s purchases. And June can’t come fast enough!
If these sets last long enough, I can definitely see myself buying another copy for parts. Fits right in with our style of building medieval/fantasy MOCs.
Very nice set. Very excited. It remains to be seen whether the tile is a printed piece or merely a sticker. I hope its a printed piece as it will have better durability. I also hope Lego start giving us more dark brown elements. I already have far too many reddish brown pillars, plates and tile plates etc. Lego if you’re listening a dark brown 1 x 6 tile plate would go down very well with us Castle-village builders 😉 Also, I hope Lego will consider releasing a small set with 1 or two orcs, much as they did for their Fantasy Castle line. There are going to be lots of us wanting to build up our orc armies and we need an affordable way of doing it..especially given that this set has reduced its number from 5 to 4 orcs 😮
Dear Admin,
No report on the new Kingdoms Chess set yet??? https://toysnbricks.com/new-lego-kingdoms-chess-set-853373/
Micho, tomorrow. The post is already written and ready for publication. 😉
Sweeeeet, can’t wait to read your review here.
Awesome set! I just wish they had kept that last orc in there. It looks a little small for $40 but its still nice.
