LEGO recently added a new section to their website with sets retiring soon. We have discussed this new feature before (see: New LEGO Sale Section: Items Retiring Soon) and I also added a link at the right-hand side-bar that will take you directly to the page. I’m not planning to write a post every time LEGO adds a new item, however since this feature is still new and a lot of LEGO fans don’t know about it yet, and because LEGO just added a bunch of sets to the list, I thought to give you an update. 😉
Just to summarize, the LEGO Sets Retiring Soon section lists sets that have been recently retired. Once the current stock is sold, they are gone for good. No more will be produced. You may be able to find them on the secondary market, but expect much higher prices. Interesting to note that the feature was added to LEGO’s website a little over a month ago, and from the original eight sets that were listed, five already sold out and only three are still on the list. 🙁
Newly added sets to the LEGO Sets Retiring Soon section are listed below. The most notable ones are the #10212 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle and #10217 LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley. If you are after either of these sets (both really awesome!) this is your last chance. Also the #10193 LEGO Castle Medieval Market Village is still on the list. If you haven’t done it already, I would get this one right away, as this is one of the best LEGO sets every made! 😛
- #10212 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle
- #10217 LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley
- #2734 LEGO DUPLO Straight Train Rails Pack
- #3182 LEGO City Airport
- #3841 LEGO Minutaurus Game
- #3858 LEGO Heroica Waldurk Forest Game
- #3937 LEGO Friends Olivia’s Speed Boat
- #4642 LEGO City Fishing Boat
- #5549 LEGO Building Fun Brick Box
- #6228 LEGO Hero Factory Thornraxx
- #6229 LEGO Hero Factory XT4

- #7877 LEGO Star Wars Naboo Starfighter
- #9092 LEGO Racers Crazy Demon
- #9483 LEGO Cars Agent Mater’s Escape
- #9674 LEGO Star Wars Planets Naboo Starfighter & Planet Naboo
These are all the new additions to the LEGO Sets Retiring Soon section. I would suggest you keep up to date with the list on a regular basis so you don’t get caught by surprise by a LEGO set that vanishes from the market. I added a quick link to the right-hand side bar for your convenience.

I want market village set for my Bday in febuary 😀
Well, you better get it now because I’m pretty sure it will be gone by February. 😕
amazon will still have it 😀
For a little while. Maybe. And then resellers will take over with their much higher prices on Amazon, BrickLink and eBay. I would not gamble with these hoping that they will still be available months from now. They most likely won’t. At least not for prices we would be happy with. Resellers who have been stocking up on this can’t wait for that day to come. 😕
Aww.. 🙁 Well, at least I got the Airport when it first came out. 😛
Lucky…..the biggest City set that I’ve got is the City Corner…. 😉
It’s nice for the heads up on retiring sets. They must be doing it to help push the last sets out the door.
Yeah -so then they don’t have to put them on sale to attract customers!
For sure. I bet this really works to get people buying them up. Fortunately, I already have everything I wanted on the list. Though I would pick up more of the MMV if the price were right.
I wish Diagon Alley was cheeper, i love that set!
When are the Chima sets coming out?
They are scheduled for January.
Wut? XT4 is retiring?!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
LEGO stop! Why the heck are you retiring sets that came out just a few months ago? Is it because they aren’t selling very much? LEGO, it just isn’t fair for your fans…
NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Lego CAN NOT retire the diagon ally set! :@
i know!!!! diagon ally is sooooo cool!!!!!
I wonder if this stops them having to put items on sale!
Hm… that’s a good point, Nigel!
Why would it stop this?
