One of my favorite LEGO stores at BrickLink is Ichiban Toys based in Oregon and run by Chris White. Chris is wonderful at providing top service to LEGO fans who are looking for LEGO elements, minifigures, and even custom LEGO kits – yeah, Chris is an awesome LEGO builder too! Besides running a store on BrickLink, Chris recently opened his own online shop, Ichiban Toys’ website. To celebrate the event and to promote the store Chris is giving away one of his custom designed LEGO Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine kits for one lucky winner. Read on for details! 🙂

I would like to add that the LEGO DeLorean designed by Chris is considered by many LEGO fans as better then the one being released by LEGO CUUSOO in the near future (see: LEGO Back to the Future DeLorean Coming!). You can also check out many of the other LEGO kits created by Chris, or visit the LEGO parts and minifigures store section. I have shopped at Ichiban Toys’ BrickLink store many times myself and I was more than pleased with the experience.
Have fun participating in Ichiban Toys’ giveaway and good luck in winning the LEGO DeLorean Time Machine kit! If you are entering let me know. I just did it myself. Hope someone from our community will win! 😉
Well, being the purist I am, I usually avoid buying custom models. However, I’ve got to admit, this DeLorean is top-notch, and arguably better than the official model. Well, I guess no harm done in entering…
I agree. This is way better than the official LEGO set in my mind. I especially like the side building and the hinging and can always use more light grey pieces.
Just wish that I could get this as a custom kit: http://brickextra.com/2013/07/05/moc-of-the-week-lego-bttf-delorean/. Best LEGO DeLorean I’ve ever seen. 🙂
Yeah, that’s a really nice one too! 🙂
Whoa,that’s really cool.
I know right….way better curves and overall design. 🙂 Also check out these cute little Despicable Me minions: http://goo.gl/EcQ3N. Off topic I know, but still cute! 😛
Yeah, I saw them the other day. Very cute! 😀
So I guess that the LEGO company doesn’t mind people making their own “sets”?
Bug, LEGO is all about creativity and making whatever you want. In addition many LEGO fans sell their own custom LEGO sets, or custom LEGO instructions. In fact, the entire CUUSOO program is all about featuring your own LEGO sets and ideas, and if enough people like them LEGO will even help you to make it an official set. Plus LEGO regularly hosts contest on their website to encourage creativity, publish books with ideas you can get inspiration from, etc. At the beginning LEGO fans may stick to just building sets according to the instructions, but as they get better they will naturally graduate to the level where they can build anything they desire using the techniques learned from standard LEGO sets. I feauture fan-created LEGO designs here all the time. Maybe I should do it more often. 😉
What I meant to say was selling custom sets. But you answered that too.
Yes, selling custom sets is totally fine. 😀
Holy crap! I’m just seeing this post and entering!!!!!!!!!! I doubt i’ll win.
You may… you never know. 😉
I am just reading this February 2015 and it seems that ICHIBAN is now closed. I don’t really know why this is saddening to me, because I have never heard of them before and they had nothing in their inventory (on Bricklink or on their website) for me to be excited about. Always sad to see a LEGO website go out of business.
Yes, Ichiban Toys is and the people behind it is wonderful. BTW, they are not going out of business, they are just changing their target audience from individual end buyers to corporations and events. So there is nothing to be sad about. 😉
