First comment! I want to get Jek-14’s stealth starfighter and all the new speedors sets, especially the royal roost set w/Lagravis.
too bad there is no ninjago 🙁 but the cuusoo is awesome! and the city… and star wars!
yeah, I miss Ninjago… but it is coming back in decemberish! About 5 months!
I miss Ninjago too… Can’t wait for “Destiny of Doom” and the new sets and season 3!!! So much Ninjago awesomeness coming soon!
Lego legends of chima online is also supposed to come out today.
Oh, thanks for sharing that! I forgot about that! 😀
I totally want Mandalorian Speeder! Huge Darth Maul fan right here! 😀
Same here!
no super-heroes or ninjago…. *sad face*
No, not in this wave. They will come, but we can’t have everything at the same time. 🙄
I got the DeLorean this morning. I’ve already built the 1st version. I will go back and build it to the Back to the Future 3 version in a day or so. I wanted to get it photographed today and had to finish and move on to normal household chores.
Nice build but a few problems with the design.
Chris, let me know how you like it! A lot of people refer to the problems; the roof, the hood, and that you can only sit one minifig… hope they are fixable with a little tweeking! 🙂
The roof is not solid. The struts leading from the hood to the roof do not attach to anything they are free floating. The normal hood is bland and not streamlined it looks better in the BTTF3 version.
Chris, thanks for sharing that. I have seen some excellent design of the DeLorean, so hopefully with a bit of tweeking the official set could be improved upon. I’m actually quite surprized LEGO didn’t spend more time refining this model. But it still seems to be selling like crazy, and one thing about the DeLorean is that it was always being tinkered with, so I guess this set also incorporates that feature. 😉
Hey guys, in about a week I’ll be going to UK. I have some questions regarding shopping, So if some British readers out there can read these. please give your thoughts:
1. Besides official LEGO stores. is there any good place to shop for LEGO?
2. Does promotions such as that free Galaxy Squad/Ice Cream Stand polybag apply for physical purchase?
3.Here’s some sets I’m eyeing. Any tips on what to buy?
21103 The DeLorean Time Machine
70704 Vermin Vaporizer
44009 DRAGON BOLT
70008 Gorzan’s Gorilla Striker
76007 Iron Man Malibu Mansion Attack
75017 Duel on Geonosis
79108 Stagecoach Escape
There are some others, but these are my top seven. Of course, there’s a perfectly good chance I’ll get s0mething completely different, or nothing at all, but still. I know UK prices are bad compared to the US, but they’re still pretty good compared to Indonesia, so I’ll try my luck. So, any suggestions?
How’s your budget, roughly? Approximately how much GBP do you have available?
Oh, I don’t know, I think at the most 70 GBP.
Nice! Hope you have an awesome trip! There are a lot of UK readers here so they should be able to help you out! 😉
1- the best place to buy lego in the UK is surprisingly TRU as they don’t jack the prices up and there are a fair amount of deals. Just try to avoid Beales if your on the south coast unless there’s a 50% off sort of thing. You most probably will be going to London so try to not to purchase anything in Harrods or Hamleys but they are cool places to mooch 😀
2-I don’t really know but sometimes if you buy the sun you can get a free polybag if there’s a promotion but you definitely wont be getting that as for physically buying an item I thinks the LEGO store is the only way to get polybags with the buy so much lego and get this free.
3- just to make sure you don’t get ripped off these are the RRP for the sets
Time machine £39.99
Vermin vaporiser £59.99 (that’s the orange galaxy squad ship right?)
Dragon bolt I think its £20.00 maybe £15.00
Gorilla striker £50.00 (I literally built this like 10 mins ago-awesome set got it for €50.00 as I’m on holiday in Ibiza at the moment which works out about a fiver cheaper)
Malibu mansion- £35.00
Duel on geonosis-£40.00
Stagecoach- £30.00
There you go hope that helped when it comes to LEGO in Britain I know a lot for a thirteen year old 😀
The best set there in my opinion has to be the gorilla striker but that’s just me.
(Longest post ever!!!!!!!!!!)
😀
Gosh, you are only 13???!!! I would have never guessed that from your comments! We have some really awesome kids here! I’m honored to be in your company! 😉
Yup it’s a surprise eh well maybe my username was a bit misleading….. I might change it to Acka Bacca-long story:quiz Wednesday night in Ibiza and my chosen name was ASF Jerome (some of you may know who he is) AKA fluffy AKA bacca Aka Rob (my real name:D) but the entertainer said ASF Jeremy Acka fluffy Acka backa Acka Rob so Acka bacca sounded kinda cool what do you guys think?
I am a nerd or something like that with the fact that I wear glasses and am good at maths,English and science but I’m terrible at P.E. that sounds like a nerd to me 😀
Am I right in thinking that fikko is about the same age? And if your reading this are you about thirteen/fourteen?:)
Oh and now is a good time to visit the UK as its having a heat wave so it’s no longer raining all the time but its still not as hot as here in Ibiza or pretty much anywhere else. 12 days of sun and relaxation left.
Another comment that’s really long 😀
Fikko, is probably sleeping right now as he is in Singapore, but I’m sure he will respond when he gets up. If I remember correctly he is 16. You can check his Contributor’s Page to make sure. It is very long though. 😉
Yeah I’ve read it before and couldn’t remember and make that £35.00 for the time machine what do you think of Acka bacca then?or should I do Boba fett my sort of nickname?
I like either… both… and I always liked what you use for your email address. But that’s not really a good user name. In general I like usernames that are the closest to being a name, as I like to call people by their name. So either Acka Bacca or Boba Fett sounds good. Good user names also helps me to remember who is who – with thousands of users here that can be a challenge at times. But I do remember people with easy but unique usernames.
Well I’ve chosen now but I might experiment a little more 😀 I know what you mean by unique usernames like mendeleur or however their name is spelt and NRG jay with something to do with having a mouth of lightning and stuff. Their the names I remember the most after fikko and yourself.
Also I realised another reason why I sound/write older than thirteen and that is that I have 2 older sisters- Helen who’s 25 and Emma who’s 29 so that’s a pretty big gap with me being an afterthought 🙂 and to finish my string of really long comments (maybe….:D) i was considering writing an article or whatever you call it about LEGO robots and give tips how to build them well and stuff so would you be interested or has something exactly the same already been done? I probably won’t write it until after my holiday even though I love LEGO and the brick blogger (this is what I use the wi-fi for as my second most essentiall internet thing-YouTube buffers alot :()
Sounds good! (I mean the username). Just keep me posted if/when you change it so I don’t forget who you are. 😉
Oh, your sisters must have a lot of fun with little brother! I have five younger brothers myself and I love to torture them! 🙄
Yeah, sure, an article by you is fine! You are a good writer, and wise beyond your years. It doesn’t matter that the article approaches the same subject as another contributor, as I’m sure your style, techniques and just the way you approach the subject is unique. So just whenever you feel inspired you are welcome to write. 🙂
Well both of my sisters are into LEGO and Helen takes me to the cinema and TRU and stuff so it’s nice because my dad works long hours and my mum can’t drive and I still get to do stuff.
I’m right in thinking that I write the article and then I email it to you using one of my many emails. It will probably be my home one or my youtube one(the one I put down) not my school one on my ipad as i will try to include pictures and stuff
Yes, when you are ready with the article, just email it to me. Attach any pictures you would like to include and make a note in the article where you want to add them. 😉
Cool, thanks I’m planning the post on my ipad and I’m going to write it when I get back. I’ll email you when it’s done. It’ll most probably include my two most prized robots, my large mech that has a cockpit in the chest and the mini one I randomly jumbled together and ended up with something that looked like it had come straight off a high-end cuusoo project. And maybe the little mining one I chucked together with six or so pieces-you could say it looks quite cute. Anyway thanks for all the help and putting up with the enormous comments I’m posting I’m surprised your spam filter hasn’t blown up 😀
Hm… sounds very interesting! I love mechs and robots! I actually receive all TBB email right in my inbox like every minute. I go thru them at least twice a day. 😉
I’ll write my school email on the email so if there is any things that need adjusting I can reply pretty quickly as its the one registered with my Ipad. I’m pretty much on it 24/7 at home with the exception of eating, drinking, going to the loo and Building LEGO.
Hang on is this a short comment…..(well for me anyway:D)
That’s fine. Just remind me who you are when you send the email so I will recognize you with the different address. You don’t sleep???!!! 😯
Well I’m on holiday in Ibiza which is 6 hours ahead of New York so…..it’s 4:36pm at the moment
My age will surprise plenty of you. Ready…..11
We have some really awesome kids here! 😀
Ditto on the Gorilla Striker, although the DeLorean might be the hardest set to find.
For some reason, the stagecoach is extremely overpriced here in Sweden, maybe it’s imported.
Admin, I’m in Indonesia…
Also, actually, I just turned 14 on the 31st of July. I barely noticed it though, since my house is hectic. We’re moving soon. I’m also pretty bad at P.E despite my height. I have gotten much better and fitter since grade 7 though, because since then the teacher actually care if I do sports or not. Yeah, I wear glasses too, and I’m also pretty good at the vocabulary side of English. I’m even writing a book. I’m almost 30 pages in.
The Vermin Vaporizer was the green one by the way. I’ve checked the price at shop.lego.com, and although I should admit it’s pretty unfair for British fans compared to American fans, The prices are generally better than where I live. Here, the Vermin Vaporizer easily tops 100 dollars.
London is having a heat wave? Aww. I thought it was Autumn. I was hoping I could walk around feeling cool. I live in Indonesia, a country bisected by the equator, so really hot days where you feel sleepy because it’s so hot is no oddity.
I actually had the DeLorean on number 1, since I’m a pretty good BTTF fan, but your comments have persuaded me to put Gorzan’s Gorilla Striker on 2nd place. That puts me at 90 pounds. Hmm. I’ll think about it.
Oh, sorry about that! I’m not sure why I thought you were 16 already! Anyway, happy birthday and have an awesome trip! Looks like you are traveling quite a bit this summer! England, then Singapore, then you were going somewhere before the contest too! 🙂
No Admin, I’m from and in Indonesia, I’ll be going to London, be back on a wednesday and go to Malaysia on a friday, 2 days later. Yep, I’ll be travelling quite a bit. I sure hope I find a DeLorean. I’m not too bothered with that hood.
Yes, I know, I meant that you were going to Malaysia for the LEGOLAND trip. 😉
Well glad I helped and the vermin vaporiser is £39.99 I think…… I probably got that wrong as well. As for P.E well……..my teachers don’t really care to be honest we’re split in two groups the sporty ones and those who aren’t or don’t really give a damn even if they’re good. You can guess which I’m in. The only sports I’m good at are swimming, archery, shooting and wii sports 🙂 my school does none of those.
As for the heatwave it’s sort of going back to normal so It might be raining……alot.
The BTTF time machine might be hard to find as there are very few LEGO stores but I have to admit it does look quite cool and dare I say it-I’ve never watched any BTTF and still think its pretty sweet. The gorilla mechs awesome with two minifigs being exclusive and the mech is well done apart from the back which is where all the play feature “activators” are so there is little detail there but everywhere else is great.
I might suggest maybe buying the Big Ben architecture set if your into displaying stuff as it will remind you of your visit to the sunny erm I meant extremely damp and wet UK for £24.99. But if I remember correctly your into robot stuff so the mechs and future cars (see what i did there) are your style.
Good luck with your book i was also thinking about maybe writing one. What’s it about?
Håkan I’m on holiday in Ibiza and the stage coach is €50-the same price as the gorilla mech!!!!! I also noticed the lion temple for €98 and was confused as its £100 in the UK and the conversion rate makes it about £89 which was literally just above my budget. And some of the £10 sets are €20! The gorilla mech was a good deal though.
I mentioned before but I resisted going “omg buy buy” and now know to wait for sales online or in stores for some of the Star Wars stuff. I am only buying the Architecture Studio this weekend, the rest is on my wish lists. I figure Amazon will have a lot of sales around the holidays.
Yes, I think for many of the Star Wars sets you can wait as they are regular sets and they should be available for a while. The only sets that are definitely worth picking up ASAP are the LEGO exclusives – like the Studio set, and definitely the DeLorean (if it is on your shopping list) – that set has been selling like hotcakes both at SDCC and at LEGO stores. In fact it is already out of stock on LEGO’s website and it only got listed yesterday! (You can still add it to your shopping-cart, but there will be some delay in shipping.) So yeah, never miss the exlusives! 😉
The British RRP price is listed for most sets on brickset.com .
This is so awesome post. Love it. I want time machine car.
Am still playing with them am 27 lol.
Hi admin hope you doing great. Can you please tell me is there any refund policy?
Tony, are you asking about LEGO’s refund policy? It depends on where you bought the set. If you bought it directly from LEGO you can call them and see if the set can be still returned or exchanged. If you bought them from a retail store you will need to check with them to see what is their policy.
