Remember when we talked about the LEGO Mixels characters back in the summer? If you don’t, you can read the original press-release here: Coming of the LEGO Mixels. In short, LEGO Mixels is a collaboration between The LEGO Group and Cartoon Network to produce a TV series, games, collectible LEGO sets and more. So let’s check them out! 🙂
The LEGO Mixels characters are crazy little creatures and you can combine them to create larger characters. With the original press-release we only saw three of the cute monsters, but thanks to the recent release of the LEGO retail catalog, and the update to the Brickset database, now we can see all of the sets scheduled for release this spring.
Each of the LEGO Mixels characters come in small bags and include a great selection of elements for some fun building. So far there are three sets of LEGO Mixels, with three characters in each: the red fiery Mixels, the gray rock Mixels and the yellow electric Mixels. There should also be some green and blue Mixels coming later, and there are likely going to be further series, as this one is numbered “Series 1”. And again, there will be opportunities to combine the models, as you can see on the picture below.
Also, here is the official description of the Mixels theme, which gives us more clues about who they are, plus hints at the badguys called Nixels: “The Mixels characters are fun little creatures who live the craziest adventures in their colorful world. Each tribe has its duty: The Infernits provide for the fire, the Cragster are builders and the Electroids bring light into darkness through electricity. The little Mixels are strongest and most creative when combining – then nobody can stop them! Almost nobody – as the uncool, colorless Nixels repeatedly try to hold off creativity in the Mixels’ world. Help the Mixel tribes defeat the Nixels! Collect all three Mixels of a tribe and create the tribe’s combiner model to face the Nixels. Or even better: Build the super-combiner from all tribes and turn the Mixel creatures invincible!”
So let’s see out all of the LEGO Mixel characters, as well as their combined models. As far as what the super-combiner looks like, at this point we don’t know, but judging from all the models, it should be really fun too!

UPDATE: Please note that there has been a 40 minute downtime of our website due to the very severe weather conditions where our datacenter is located. There is a major blizzard going on in the US North East. Even down here in Florida it is barely over freezing point. 🙁
Everything is back up and running now, but wanted to let you know in case the site goes down again. In situations like this you can always reach me through our Facebook Page, Google+ Page, on Twitter or by email (see links in the social-media box in the upper left of the page).
Forgot to mention; make sure you subscribe to TBB on whatever social channel you are using (FB, G+, Twitter, etc.) because if our site is down you won’t be able to access those links either. Downtimes happen very-very infrequently as we have a great server, but things like weather is not under their control, so it is best to be prepared so we can keep in touch. 😉
So that is what happened….. I was wondering.
Also, I’ve created my own LEGO forum!
You can look at it here: http://starbricks.createaforum.com/index.php
Admin, I’m just wondering, what I posted above, is that ok?
If not please remove it 🙂
Naw, you are fine. Not very many house-rules here. Basically just treat people nicely, no bad words, and try to stay on topic. It is a family-friendly site. Oh, and no gazillion “!!!” to mess up the comment section. 😉
Yeah I know that 😀
What a fun concept! I’m sure the toon will be silly and childish but these little dudes have great potential for some fun-creature-building!!!
Yeah, they are pretty fun. I’m planning to collect them. And there are all those new parts! 😀
Yup, moccers are going crazy over those eyes and teh new small joints… it’s gonna be mecha-mania 😀
Small jointses…Mecha-Mania indeed! Fikko3107 likey. They would definitely be my Preciousses once I gets me handses on some of them…
Yeah! Can’t wait! 😀
so wait. is this a LEGO show or a CN show?
Both, I think
whoa.
It is a collaboration between LEGO and CN. I guess like Ninjago and Chima.
I think you made a mistake. It seems like Infernit, Cragster and Electroid are the tribe names, not the names of the combiner. I initially thought the same too, but after reading the official description, I changed my mind.
By the looks of that square-logo/emblem/insignia thing, it seems like there will also be Orange Mixels, in addition to green and blue. The square shows the colors red, blue, green, yellow, orange and purple, and the second image shows a member from each tribe save for the yellow/Electroid tribe. Now what could that mean? The Electroids are less important?
In other news, there seem to be no grey on the square; my theory is that the Cragster/grey tribe is represented by the purple. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this. I remember whilst playing Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap that the Earth element was represented by a purple color orb, as you can see here: https://www.zeldadungeon.net/wiki/images/3/3a/EarthelementGet.png
I’m pretty excited to see the “super-combiner”. For some reason, it reminds me of the Matrix Dragon (see picture here:http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q54/InfernoRodan/Animation/Zoids%20Fuzors/MatrixDragon_zpsc665045b.jpg) from Zoids Zi, which if I remember correctly is formed when all the heroes’ Zoids combine into one larger Zoid to combat the final boss. I remembered it to be multicolored, since I first saw it in a black-and-white manga and I imagined it to look like multicolored mech…
Fikko, yeah, I thought that there may be an orange tribe too, but then I changed my mind and didn’t include it as I wasn’t sure. My understanding from the description as well as from the picture is that those are the names of the combiner models, not the tribes, but I could be wrong. In either way they are very cute. I’m wondering though it there are going to be any Nixels too! 🙄
I studied German in school, and according to the pic “The Infernites”, “The Cragsters” and “The Electroids” do indeed appear to be tribe names.
With some help of online dictionaries, the German description states “The Infernites: Fiery Jokesters “, “The Cragsters: Rock-Hard Heavyweights” and “The Electroids: Fully Charged Fumblers”, roughly.
Actually the name of the combiner appears to be just Combi-(tribe name), if I’ve understood it completely… Rather unimaginative, but stilll…
Kids need simple things to remember. Just look at the Chima characters. All of the names of the characters start with the name of the animal species. Unimaginative, but it works. 😉
Thanks! My German is so bad I didn’t even attempt to try! 😳
red, green, blue, and black? (ish) 😕 does anyone else see a combination put together before? (hint: ninjago.)
Yeah!
what’s next! a white one? 😕
ok forget the things I said a few minuets ago. I forgot there where yellow ones. 😳 how embarrassing.
Anyone get the LEGO club magazine yet? I have and it’s awesome!
Yep, I got it last week. Lots of new stuff and really interesting info. I might right a post on the TMNT blue-prints, unless someone else wants to do it. 😉
yeah, they hide the ninjago thing. its hidden. so yeah.
I’ll write an article about the new TMNT sets. I really like Shuff from the Cragsters! 😀
Okay, cool! If you want to include pictures from the magazine, just let me know which page and I can scan them for your post. Make sure you include those blueprints as they refer to future sets. 😉
A submarine!
Must……..not……………..squeal……………..
AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! the mini-joints are gonna be so helpfull/awesome!!!!!!!!
CM4S has posted some blurry pics of Series 3 at the EuroBricks forum…
http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=84893&st=100
Those Eurbricks guys are such crazy good detectives! No company secrets can be hidden from them!
The combos look awesome.
I <3 Shuff and ZapTor
I wonder what the Nixels will look like. It is actually possible to make colorless plastic, so it will be interesting to see what Lego does. The orange Mixels look rather insect-like, and I believe they have new antenna pieces. I’ll be very excited buy these guys when they come out! 😀
Darkon, I have heard that there will be no Nixels, only Mixels, but at this point it is only speculation either way. 😉
There’s some discussions about Nixels over at the Eurobricks forum.
Oh! Looks like we will get some Nixels?! The evil side is always more fun! They have better cookies! 😈
Iv seen series three( look it up ) theres briwn.i tjink it will be every coloron the wheel, along with white, black and brown idea
Sorry for the grammar. You get the point
Wait. I think nixels are blue, so there may be one more color of mixels. No ideas
They might release a group of 3 nixels with 2 groups of mixels at one point. Im gone now
Oh man, these guys look totally awesome!!! Can’t wait!
Instructions are available now at Lego.com . It seems there’s a nixel included in one each of the tribe’s creature packs, i.e. in one third of the sets.
Hm… that’s interesting about the Nixels! 🙂
I like the electrods better then all the mixels even better than nixels.
I LOVE MY MOM
