Unikitty is one of the most interesting characters of The LEGO Movie, so I thought to dedicate this post to her, along with a sweet review-video by JANGBRiCKS of all five forms of Unikitty as they appear in The LEGO Movie and the accompanying LEGO sets. 🙂
Unikitty is a Master Builder and the princess of Cloud Cuckoo Land with a complex personality only a half-cat half unicorn could have. “Hailing from Cloud Cuckoo Land, the capital of rainbows and puppies, she is half unicorn, half anime kitten and one endless dance party. She is happy to join her fellow LEGO Master Builders in the quest to defeat Lord Business, but she also has a powerful secret.” – says the official description of Unikitty.
During The LEGO Movie Unikitty appears in five forms, as you can see in the picture above. All of her appearances are brick-built and made up of 14 LEGO pieces; a 1×3 arch for her body with four 1×1 plates for the feet, a 1×1 round plate for the neck, her head is made up of a printed 1×3 brick sandwiched between two 1×3 plates, then she got two “cheese-slopes” for ears, and her horn sits inside a 1×1 round plate with a whole in the middle. The unique LEGO piece created just for Unikitty is her tail.
In The LEGO Movie you will see Unikitty takes other shapes where different LEGO pieces are used; like when she is sitting or lying down, or in her most memorable and frightening enraged mode. However in The LEGO Movie sets you will just see different colorations of the standard Unikitty shape. And despite of being brick-built, she actually comes with pretty good articulation; of course her head is movable on her neck, but also the tail can be positioned in five different ways, and her ears can readjusted depending on her mood (just like you see in the movie). Below are the five versions of Unikitty and the sets they appear:
➡ UNIKITTY – This is Unikitty in her normal mode (as much as a half-cat half-unicorn could be normal). She is bubbly, sweet, positive and supportive in this character, maybe even a tad over the top. She appears in the #70803 The LEGO Movie Cloud Cuckoo Palace set.
➡ BIZNIS KITTY – Biznis Kitty is Unikitty’s disguise used for infiltrating the Octan tower. She looks the same as normal Unikitty, but she has glasses, a necktie, and mathematical symbols drawn on her body with black marker. She appears in the #70809 The LEGO Movie Lord Business’ Evil Lair set.
➡ QUEASY KITTY – This is one sick cat! When Emmet and his friends hide in the Double Decker Couch after their submarine breaks apart, Unikitty gets seasick, thus her greenish and unhappy appearance. She appears in the #70810 The LEGO Movie Metalbeard’s Sea Cow set.
➡ ASTRO KITTY – This is a really sweet form of Unikitty, when she takes flight on Benny’s Spaceship, along with Emmet and company. She wears a full blue space-suit with a LEGO Classic Space logo printed on her body. She appears in the #70816 The LEGO Movie Benny’s Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! set.
➡ ANGRY KITTY – This form of Unikitty is one of the most memorable in The LEGO Movie. She gives up her ever-positive nature to protect Emmet, and turns into a terrifying, fire-breathing monster to destroy Lord Business’ robot police team. She even swallows Micro Managers whole! She appears in the #70814 The LEGO Movie Emmet’s Construct-o-Mech set.
Unikitty is voiced by Alison Brie in The LEGO Movie, who is a perfect choice for her character. When I first saw the movie, I wasn’t sure if I could fully trust Unikitty (you should never trust cats!), but by second watching I really liked her. Especially when she was so sad after Cloud Cuckoo Land was destroyed and when she protected Emmet towards the end. She may be a “weird unicorned cat” – as Bad Cop said – but she is awesome after all.
So what do you think? How did you like Unikitty in The LEGO Movie? And how do you like her in The LEGO Movie sets? Are you planning to collect her different appearances? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

Those are all so cool!
P.S. Admin, when you describe Angry Kitty instead of saying fire breathing it says fire breeding… Just so you know.
LOL! Thanks for catching that! Stupid spell-checker! 😀
Your Welcome, I was reading the article then… 😯
Okay, you get a cookie for reading the whole article! 😀
aw, I want a cookie. 🙄
Hm… tell me something funny/interesting/super-secret about Unikitty and you get a cookie too!
Secret about Unikitty: She likes cookies too!
do I get a cookie now? XD
Naw, I don’t believe you… she is a girl. She is watching her weight.
Is the 1×1 round plate with the hole in the middle (where the horn goes) also a new piece? I don’t think I’ve seen it used anywhere prior to Unikitty.
Hopefully Lego finds some other uses for that nifty tail piece though.
Ray, that 1×1 round plate with hole has appeared in 21 sets so far. Mostly in white, dark red in the Ghostbusters set, and yellow in some City Fire sets. If I remember correctly they first appeared in the various LEGO Games sets. It is a very-very useful piece.
As far as the tail, yeah, I also hope it will be used in other sets. I think it is a very nice piece. I could see it as a decorative element on buildings for sure, and I also used it to make a little elephant. It makes a perfect head/trunk. 🙂
No it isn’t. They come in multiple Lego Games sets. You can see the colors and their sets here: http://brickset.com/parts/design-85861
There is also a yellow one in the City Airport Fire Truck 60061. 😉
Yeah, I just looked and it has been around since 2009, although it has been rare and only recently has it been introduced in larger numbers. I have been buying multiplies on BrickLink because I find the part really useful. I just hope it will also appear in other colors. The dark-red ones in the Ghostbusters set are great! There are 8 of them in the set, plus a spare! 😀
Yeah, 2014 is the first year Holed Dots have been in a set other than a game. I hope for a wider range of colors, since they are mostly white. Maybe they will come in more LEGO Movie sets, do you think there will be a 2015 wave? 😕
My guess is that this is it for The LEGO Movie sets until the new movie comes out. As far as the small round plates, I’m pretty sure it will appear in more and more sets. People really like them, and LEGO knows that.
Unikitty is awesome. The only version I have is Queasy-kitty, unfortunately. And I might note that Astro-Kitty is not actually in the movie, though you can’t really see it. But my memory may be wrong. 😕
Astro-Kitty is certainly in the movie. She is riding Benny’s Spaceship just like you see in the set. 😉
Here is a short clip of the scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d0DChU-BF0&feature=youtu.be
Yeah, right after I commented, I went and watch some LEGO Movie clips, and I did see her right after Benny destroyed all those enemy ships (one of which happens to come in the set). 😀
I just haven’t seen any parts of the Movie since February. 😉
I just rewatched the movie this past weekend, so had it fresher in my mind. 🙂
I like angry kitty the most! 😀
I like that ship!
The evil kitty looks kinda cool.
