If you want to get rid of your old toys – be that action figures, dolls, die-cast vehicles, puzzles, constructions toys and yeah, even LEGO – you can of course give them away to family, friends or a charity, sell them yourself, or take advantage of the services of a company like Brian’s Toys. We have talked about Brian’s Toys before (see: Do You Want to Sell Your Retired LEGO Sets?), and you can also find a link to their services in the right-hand side-bar. Brian just emailed me and wanted to share a new handy little tool they recently added to help you price your toys. 🙂
Brian’s Toys have been buying toys for over 20 years, so they have quite a bit of experience. In response to feedback from toy collectors searching for a better way to catalog their collections and receive quotes for items they would like to sell, Brian’s Toys recently launched an app that allows users to scan the barcodes on their toys’ packaging to create a complete list.
The Price My Toys mobile app provides toy collectors with a fun and convenient way to organize, manage, and show off their toy collections. Toys can then be customized with names, pictures, quantities, and more. Scanned toys are also updated with the purchasing price Brian’s Toys is currently offering, when applicable. This list can be exported as a spreadsheet for organizing, and it can also be submitted to Brian’s Toys’ for an offer. Additional features of the new Price My Toys app include: adding item notes, creating sublists, scanning multiple items at once or individually, and adding toys without barcodes.
Price My Toys is Brian’s Toys first app and it can be downloaded for free in the App Store and on Google Play. Once you downloaded the app you can use it to start to scan and inventory your collection. And if you decide to sell any or all of what you got, you can request a quote for your toys, with no obligation to sell. If you do decide to sell your collection to Brian’s Toys, you get discounted shipping rates and receive notifications within the app of the status of your shipment.
If you don’t have a smart-phone, you can also use the webapp where you can select the toy line you want to sell and add each item individually. However if you do have a smart device the Price My Toys mobile app can speed up the process, as you can just scan the barcodes to create your list. If you are interested, you can find additional information at BriansToys.com/PriceMyToys.
I hope you find this tool helpful in pricing and even selling your unwanted toys. If you try out the app you are welcome to leave your own feedback, review, and questions in the comment section below and I will make sure Brian sees them. 😉

First! Neat, but I don’t save packaging, and after a few weeks, my sets usually come apart 🙁
If you ever consider selling, it is a good idea to keep the packaging. Besides, you can also use this service for other toys, not just LEGO. 😉
Hey everyone, just thought I’d come back to see how everyone’s doing- I haven’t been on here for a long time due to exams and other things taking over. Only the old-school visitors will remember me lol
Anyway this app looks pretty cool although I most probably won’t ever use it.
Gosh, long time no see! Nice to have you stop by! All is good here; so far this has been an exciting year for the LEGO hobby with a lot of new sets released in January, then again on March 1st. Also we have been talking a lot about the summer and winter sets coming later this year. Wishing you the best with your exams, and stop by anytime you like! 🙂
Thanks il make sure I come back every now and then to comment 🙂
