In the July-August issue of the LEGO Club Magazine that I just received a couple of days ago, there is an announcement for a really exciting contest. It is called the LEGO Chima Big Box Competition, and the prize is the largest LEGO set ever seen: The Ultimate Battle for Chima! ๐
โก LEGO LEGENDS OF CHIMA CONTEST PRIZE: I will start with describing the prize because it is so awesome. The Ultimate Battle for Chima set comes in the pictured massive box. It is basically a collection of 25 LEGO Legends of Chima sets from the recent Fire vs. Ice battle, and contains a total of 10,004 pieces and 92 minifigures!
โก LEGO LEGENDS OF CHIMA CONTEST DETAILS: According to the announcement above, Laval and Sir Fangar have been locked in a Fire vs. Ice battle that only one side can win. You can help decide the victor by building a fortress to help protect the CHI.
โก HOW TO ENTER THE CONTEST: Build a fortress to help protect the CHI. Take a picture of your build. Go to the LEGO Club website, fill out the contest entry form, and email it – along with your contest entry – to: USClubContests@LEGO.com. Be sure to reference “Chima Big Box Contest” in the subject line of your email. The deadline for this contest is October 30, 2015. Please note that the contest is open to US and Canadian LEGO Club members only (excluding Quebec residents). The competition is limited to online submissions. Only digital entries will be accepted.
โก HOW TO WIN THE CONTEST: There will be two winners for the LEGO Chima Big Box Competition, each receiving the set pictured above. You can read the detailed Terms & Conditions on the LEGO Club website.
Fun contest, amazing prize! Isn’t it? What do you think? Are you planning to build a fortress and enter the LEGO Chima Big Box Competition? Do you think you will win? What would you do with all those LEGO Legends of Chima sets? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! And you can also check out the sets under the LEGO Legends of Chima section of the Online LEGO Shop. ๐
And you might also like to check out the LEGO Legends of Chima section for more news, reviews and discussions, or select from below:
I would enter, but you said it was open only for residents of USA and Canada. Damn the US sometimes!
Please do not cuss my brother looks at this website sometimes and he is only 7!
I would enter…but LEGO doesn’t really look for the best/advanced/creative build they go for the ones that have something not LEGO incorporated (ex. grass, rocks, etc.) so, no I will not enter. Even though it should be worth around $1,000
This is a LEGO building contest, not a photography contest. For the photo contests they do like to see you incorporate LEGO with the real world (like they have done with the recent LEGO BIONICLE and LEGO Architecture contests), but this is a pure building contest, so all you need is LEGO. ๐
No seriously, look at some of the more recent BUILDING contests. Ex. https://click.linksynergy.com/deeplink?id=xFjNjMCCUsg&mid=13923&murl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lego.com%2Fen-us plz tell me how this won against um.. this https://click.linksynergy.com/deeplink?id=xFjNjMCCUsg&mid=13923&murl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lego.com%2Fen-us ?
Sorry for the long links.
Hm… I’m glad I’m not a judge! The first one is fun because it is so big. Kids like stuff like that. The second one is more sophisticated, but it is very small. If I would be judging a kids contest, I would also vote for the first one. In a teen/adult contest I would pick the second one. So yeah, it’s though because there could be so many age-groups entering. But whatever the case, this should not hold you back from entering. You build the best thing you can imagine, and just see where it goes. For an insanely huge and rare set like this I would not hesitate. ๐
It’s not exclusive except the box, and maybe the instructions.
It is an exclusive in the eyes of collectors. As far as we know right now, it is an unprecedently rare set.
If it were open for Europeans, I would enter. Not that I like Chima that much but I can certainly see the merit of this box.
HAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH I JUST RICK ROLL’D MY BROTHER!
I really hope this is won by someone who will actually open and enjoy the box!
Having said that. I could easily see this going for stupid money to a collector and the winner getting a lot of other sets given I’ve never seen anything like this before (and I’m reasonably clued up on the rather rare end of lego)…
Tom, I just asked on the LEGO Ambassador forum if LEGO is planning to release this set in any other way. Otherwise this is going to be the most insanely large and even more insanely rare sets ever with only two copies released. We shall see what LEGO says…
Personally I think I would sell this set to a collector (if I would get a reasonably large offer on it – which I’m sure I would), and use the money to buy sets I really want. But if it is a kid that wins it, yeah, let them enjoy it! ๐
Oh should I end up with it (given I cannot enter as UK based) I’d be selling.
But… the look on my son or daughters face if they got to open this would be amazing….
Yeah, the box is probably bigger then most kids! ๐
I’d enter the contest.. BUT… I live in the Netherlands… so… goodbye contest.
I asked on the LEGO Ambassador forum if this will be open to other countries as well in the future. No response yet.
Thanks for posting this Anna, as I usually get the Club magazines months and months after their release I’m always way too late for the contests!
Though I or my siblings have managed to enter a few times and always been rather surprised by the pathetic quality of the winners, hahaha. Sometimes you can see why someone won but other times, it looks like it was just random. ๐
However, with that big of a prize, I might have to enter this one! Plus it’s cool that I can enter digitally. And it’s a good incentive to build out of my comfort zone!
But really, there are collectors out there who even though they have all the sets inside this one would still want to get this as well just for completeness?!? That’s crazy! Hahaha.
Good luck in the contest! There are collectors who collect everything. I know at least one person who collected every LEGO set every made. This included variations, repackaging, everything. There are also people who focus on one theme and collect every single thing in that theme. While for us, who are mostly builders this may sound extreme, there is value in collecting. The most knowledgeable fans on LEGO’s history are collectors. ๐
Why are adults entering this contest?! Just let some kids enjoy a set. I mean aren’t you guys a little old to be reading LEGO CLUB MAGAZINE!!!!!!!!!!!?
According to LEGO’s own rules, the contest is open to all age-groups. In addition, LEGO is a hobby that is enjoyed by kids, teens and adults. There are no restrictions to build with LEGO or enjoy the magazine. ๐
Sorry I overreacted, but honestly you guys are adults with years of experience when it comes to building. The kids have no chance! Don’t you think that’s a little messed up?
LEGO runs various contests; some are for kids only, some for teens, some for adults, and some for mixed age groups. It is up to LEGO to decide how they want to run their contests. If a contest is mixed there is no reason to feel guilty for entering just because someone has more skill. Some of the best builders are in fact kids and teens. ๐
Meh.
The contest just for America and Canada not the other countries
Yes, that is correct. Currently this contest is only in North America.
My son entered the contest and has been talking about it every day. Any idea when the winner will be chosen? Crossing fingers in San Carlos, CA!
Amanda, as far as I know the winners for this contest have already been chosen.
Where does Lego post the list of winners?
Kris, they contact the winners directly, and when everything is confirmed they usually get announced in the LEGO Club Magazine.
Thanks.
