I don’t know if I would want to buy my ticket this early, but it is definitely worth to go.
Yeah, if you are not sure about your schedule yet, it is best to wait. I would recommend though not to wait until the last minute as the space does have limited capacity. Registering a month before should work just fine.
I really like their logo/mascot thing. in the latest brick loot box they had a mini-build of it for you. Also Admin how much do you make average a moth with LEGO affiliate program (if you don’t want to tell then just say what kind of thing you could buy)? Thanks, I’m trying to make my blog/website more worth my time (aka adsence etc.) for the eyes of my parents 🙄 .
I can tell you right now that making money with a LEGO blog is not easy. It is a good learning experience however. If your goal is to make money there are many other niches that would be a much better option. The reason for this is that the affiliate programs you can take advantage of and are compatible with this niche are very limited and pay very little. If you would be talking about… I don’t know… Porsches, luxury homes, or fancy cameras, even with little traffic and just a few sales, you would be earning enough commission to make a good income. With a LEGO blog, if someone buys a $100 LEGO set through your link, you still only earn $3 bucks, because LEGO pays a 3% commission. But in actuality it is even worse than that because half of the clicks don’t count. I once calculated this based on one year of data, and the actual commission LEGO pays is more like 1%. You would have to sell on awful lot of $100 sets to make a decent income with that.
So don’t expect to get rich, however as I said, it is a good learning experience, and it can open up other doors for you, and you can even make important connections and lifelong friends. Like for example the BrickShow first started out with a blog, but now they make a full time income with their YouTube channel, and participating as a vendor at LEGO shows and conventions. Other people may go into a completely different niche than what they started out with, and use their initial experience to break into that market. I would add though that if you are not into big money and just want to earn some supplemental income, or to cover the expenses of buying new LEGO sets, you can definitely do that.
I would suggest that you focus on having fun, learning, helping others, and making friends. Statistically speaking most bloggers will give up within a year because they had unrealistic expectations about the work involved and the money to be made. On average most bloggers (not just LEGO) make somewhere between $1,000-$3,000 a month with their blog, however they can earn much more by the opportunities their blog opens up for them. Fewer bloggers make between $5,000-$10,000 a month, but it is becoming increasingly rare to make that kind of money with just a blog. Instead the blog is usually just one piece of the puzzle. And there are some rare people (you can pretty much count them on one hand) who make crazy money with blogging (like $50,000 – $100,000 a month), but even they know that they have to diversify, because income just from blogging can come and go as a result of such simple things as a search engine algorithms change. If you are interested in becoming a super rich master blogger, follow Pat Flynn. He shares his monthly income reports: https://www.smartpassiveincome.com/income-reports/. And he also likes LEGO. 😉
I’m not interested in making big bucks from my blog, just something so my parents think it’s worth my time. But thanks so much.
In that case you should be just fine. Maybe make a goal for yourself, like $100 a month. That’s easily achievable, and should keep your parents happy. 😀
I was just about to apply (with supervision of course), but my dad wouldn’t do it because you had to put your social security number in! So he says I have to wait till I’m 18.
