LEGO Dimensions gameplay video-reviews

Recently we discussed and reviewed all the LEGO Dimensions sets including the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack, Level Packs, Team Packs and Fun Packs (see: All LEGO Dimensions Packs – Video Reviews). But as you know, LEGO Dimensions also has a digital gaming aspect, and this is what we will look at today in detail. So let’s dive into LEGO Dimensions!ย ๐Ÿ™‚

LEGO Dimensions Press-Release

The LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack includes everything you need to start playing the game. It is available for every major home console system including: Nintendo Wii U, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. The most important item is the LEGO Dimensions Toy Pad, which is basically the link between the physical LEGO characters, vehicles, gadgets, and the digital game itself. All versions of the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack are $99.99, and are available at various retailers and the LEGO Dimensions section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Besides the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack, there are also many add-on packs. These are called LEGO Dimensions Level Packs, Team Packs and Fun Packs. They offer additional characters and gaming experiences. You can read more about them LEGO Dimensions Available Now – Full Guide. The important thing to remember that all these add-on packs are fully compatible with all versions of the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack. Prices for the LEGO Dimensions add-on packs range between $14.99 and $29.99, and are also available at various retailers and the LEGO Dimensions section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO Dimensions Packs

In the video-player below I have included a playlist for you from JANGBRiCKS, featuring the gameplay that included from the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack, as well as many of the add-on packs. You will see how amazingly advanced and fun this game is! The first video will show you what happens the very first time you turn on your LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack gaming experience, and the following videos delve into the different LEGO Dimensions worlds including Portal 2, The Wizard of Oz, The Simpsons, The LEGO Movie, LEGO Ninjago, Doctor Who, The Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters and more. You can use the drop-down menu in the upper left corner of the playlist to select gameplays.

As you can see, the game is very absorbing and quite interesting. I think gamers will really like the experience. One of my favorite aspects of LEGO Dimensions is that it includes and intertwines so many licenses and stories. It is like having access to, and being able to play, a whole bunch of different games, and even more will be added in the future. A lot of LEGO fans who are not into gaming say that they only care for the physical sets and minifigures from the LEGO Dimensions line, but it might actually be worth considering checking out the game as well. If you get only one LEGO game, this could very well be the one! ๐Ÿ˜€

All the LEGO Dimensions Starter Packs and add-on packs are available at the Online LEGO Shop, and you can use the current Double VIP Points promotion to pack up some savings, so this is a good time to get your starter pack, and even some add on packs. You can find them here: LEGO DIMENSIONS AT THE ONLINE LEGO SHOP

Shop LEGO Dimensions

As an alternative, Amazon.com also got a really helpful dedicated section just for LEGO Dimensions that guides you through the process of starting with the game and finding all the packs that you want. All the currently available LEGO Dimensions packs are listed in this section, and you can also pre-order some of the future packs. Here is the direct link where you can find everything: LEGO DIMENSIONS SHOP ON AMAZON

So what do you think? Did you get any of the LEGO Dimensions packs already? Which one of the add-on packs do you like the most? And have you been playing the game? How do you like it so far? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! ๐Ÿ˜‰

First! I got dimensions a few weeks ago, and I got the Portal 2 pack and the Zane pack. I really like the Ninjacopter because I can fly around over so many obstacles, and it is especially useful in the Hub worlds.

Nice! I love the Portal 2 pack too! Haven’t thought about Zane’s but will check it out.

The spinjitzu of Zane is really cool, almost beautiful if video games could be. Hey Admin have you ever seen the concept art for Chima when it was being discussed about at LEGO? It looks like it would have been better that what we got instead!

Yeah, I remember seeing those. I think since LEGO decided to bring back BIONICLE, they decided using golden masks for Chima as it would have been too similar. But the artwork is nice.

I know, I would have bought like all of them if they did it THAT way!

Interesting, but it’s becoming more and more likely I’ll never get the game. If only it was 4 players. ๐Ÿ™
Slightly off-topic, but today is Back to the Future Day (10/21/15)! LEGO should have done a sale on the Dimensions BTTF level pack. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I may side with the conspiracy theorist on that, that it is just a ploy from LEGO to increase sales for the holidays. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • BLProductions October 21, 2015, 7:51 PM

I find that hard to believe. Why would LEGO say it’s not going to be making enough sets for holidays? Wouldn’t that scare potential customers off, knowing that they would miss out? Or would that just make everyone so desperate they all go to the stores? ๐Ÿ˜•

        • admin October 21, 2015, 7:54 PM

Yeah, that’s the theory. When people hear there is a shortage, they all scramble to get whatever remains. Again, this is just a theory, and there is no way for us to know for sure. LEGO definitely has been on the top of their game, and they have been releasing way to many new sets. It is easy to see how they could over extend themselves and be the victim of their own success. The increasing quality issues seem to be pointing to this as well. But hopefully they will be able to catch up.

Also, CapnRex has posted Brickset’s article for BTTF day. The precise timing isโ€ฆ interesting. ๐Ÿ˜€

That’s a really interesting article. Especially the comparison numbers and pictures.

LEGO did an awesome Instagram at the precise time that Marty got to Hill Vally. Can’t wait for Monday, it’s when I get almost the entire first wave of Dimensions!!

Even though the minifigs may be boring, but some of these sound good.
