LEGO released two very large LEGO City waves at the beginning of the year in the LEGO City Police and LEGO City Fire categories – two sub-themes that LEGO has been maintaining fro pretty much the very beginning. While adult LEGO fans sometimes grumble about LEGO City Police and LEGO City Fire sets always being available, LEGO will continue producing them as long as children – especially young boys – remain fascinated by policemen, firefighters, and their awesome vehicles. After all everyone needs a hero, and everyone likes to imagine being a hero. So today we will look at all the LEGO City Police and LEGO City Fire sets released this year. 🙂
➡ 2016 LEGO CITY POLICE SETS: Last year we got the LEGO Police sets situated in the swamp, and this year they are on an island – or two islands, to be more accurate. There are six main sets in the series, with a couple of more very small promotional sets. The six main sets are as follows: #60126 LEGO City Police Tire Escape, #60127 LEGO City Police Prison Island Starter Set, #60128 LEGO City Police Pursuit, #60129 LEGO City Police Patrol Boat, #60130 LEGO City Prison Island, and #60131 LEGO City Crooks Island. The last two are the largest and most impressive of the collection with solid designs and fun play-features. Also, both the criminal and the police minifigs got new prints. Below JANGBRiCKS will show you all the sets both individually and as a whole collection. And if you are interested, you can find the sets under the LEGO City section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ 2016 LEGO CITY FIRE SETS: This sub-theme got a very large wave with nine sets, fighting fires both on land and at see. The nine sets are as follows: #60105 LEGO City Fire ATV, #60106 LEGO City Fire Starter Set, #60107 LEGO City Fire Ladder Truck, #60108 LEGO City Fire Response Unit, #60109 LEGO City Fire Boat, #60110 LEGO City Fire Station, #60111 LEGO City Fire Utility Truck, and #60112 LEGO City Fire Engine. We don’t just get a whole new collection of firefighting vehicles, but also a number of new elements, and new minifigure torso-prints as well. In the video-player below JANGBRiCKS will show you all the sets both individually and as a whole collection. And if you are interested, you can find the sets under the LEGO City section of the Online LEGO Shop.
I quite like the new LEGO City Police sets, especially the two island ones. The parts and color selection are really nice in both. If you plan to get the whole LEGO City Police collection you will have a good balance between large, medium and small sets, and a good mix of land and sea vehicles. Or, you could just pick the set that you really like. But overall the collection is just the right size without it being overwhelming. As far as the LEGO City Fire sets, it is a much larger collection with a lot more medium to large sets with only a couple of small ones. There are four substantial fire trucks, a huge fire boat, a big helicopter, plus a large fire station. Unless you are really into LEGO City Fire, I would say that from this theme it is best to just pick and choose your favorite, rather than collecting everything. After all how many firefighters and fire trucks a city needs? 🙄
What do you think? How do you like the LEGO City Police and LEGO City Fire sets? Are you planning to pick up any of them? Or have you done so already? Do you have any favorites? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

I agree that the Police collection is just the right size this year, and also have a fresh and interesting design. I’m amazed by the number of Fire sets though! Waching Jang’s video with all of them together looks overwhelming!
I agree the fire sets are better this time around to. However, the fire station itself isn’t much of different than the last set ,But I do like the fire ship it very cool.
Yes, the ship is awesome. The main new feature of the fire station is that awesome pole. 😀
I’d like to see more hospitals and doctors… Very neglected themes… Maybe Friends can go in that direction?…
I think something is coming in that area because the summer City Park set is going to have a new wheelchair piece, which will most likely come in other sets as well. Also, LEGO DUPLO had several hospital sets released recently. So someone at LEGO is definitely thinking in that direction. 😉
That baby torso looks cool, as well…
Yeah, very cute! 😀
