Just a reminder that today is the last day for Double VIP Points at LEGO stores and at the Online LEGO Shop. The special will expire tonight at 11:59pm EST. Double VIP Points is a rare promotion that only happens a couple of times a year (usually in the spring, and during the year-end holiday season). It basically gives you a 10% discount in the form of store-credit for future purchases. 🙂
While you will earn Double VIP Points on all of your purchases, savvy LEGO shoppers focus on large exclusive sets that otherwise never go on sale. If you plan to visit an official LEGO store, you can sign up right there for a VIP account. If you are already a member, you can show your card at the store, or just give the cashier your name and they can pull up your VIP account for you. If you are shopping online, make sure you sign up for the program first (it is free), and log in to your account when making a purchase.
LEGO released a large wave of excellent new sets this month (see: March 2016 – New LEGO Sets & Promotions). I won’t repeat all the information here, but to summarize; LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Super Heroes, LEGO Minecraft, LEGO Elves, LEGO Juniors, and LEGO Speed Champions all got a whole selection of new sets. You can find them under the What’s New section of the Online LEGO Shop.
As far as large exclusive LEGO sets, the #75827 LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ is one of the biggest LEGO sets ever released with a massive 4634 pieces and a price-tag of $349.99. If you want to own the ultimate Ghostbusters set, this is it! And today is the last day to earn 699 VIP Points on this set instead of the usual 350. You can find it under the LEGO Ghostbusters section of the Online LEGO Shop.
Another large set that was recently released is the #76052 LEGO Batman Classic TV Series – Batcave. This set is 2526 pieces, and the price is $269.99. It is the perfect gift for LEGO Batman fans! You can find it under the LEGO DC Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.
Also, don’t forget about the #10251 LEGO Creator Brick Bank, the latest in the LEGO Modular Buildings line. If you haven’t gotten it already, this is a good time to pick it up – along with some of the previous sets in the collection to build up your LEGO city. You can find them under the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.
And of course if you prefer smaller sets, there are plenty to choose from, and you will earn Double VIP Points on those as well. It is a good idea though to make sure that your total adds up to at least $75 so you are eligible for free shipping. This way you maximize your savings. You can browse all the new sets under the What’s New section of the Online LEGO Shop.
So what did you get or planning to get this month? Which one is your favorite new set or new theme? Or are you picking up some of the older sets that you have been saving up for? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

I already placed an order when the double points period started, but now I’m tempted to place another one. Decisions. Decisions.
Yeah, there are so many new sets to choose from! 😀
Ok I bit. Huge PAB order for leaves (200 green and 200 dark green) and also the Ninjago Temple of Airjutsu as well. Far too much I’m sure but I’m happy.
*Airjitzu even…
Sweet! You can build a whole forest around the temple! 😀
It puts me at close to 1800 ish of the big leaves now so yes, a forest is very viable 🙂
Gosh, I’m jealous! I love LEGO trees! 😀
