As you will see from the details below, March is turning out to be a very exciting month for LEGO fans, with a number of new LEGO sets in many categories, great promotions, and even Double VIP Points! So let’s take a closer look at what we got this month. 🙂
➡ NEW LEGO NINJAGO SETS & FREE POLYBAG: The new wave of LEGO Ninjago sets are finally released, featuring scenes from Season 6 of the LEGO Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu TV show. This is a particularly interesting season with sky pirates, a steampunk-ish brown and dark orange color-scheme, and many wonderful new accessories. The #70600 LEGO Ninjago Ninja Bike Chase, the #70603 LEGO Ninjago Raid Zeppelin and the #70605 LEGO Ninjago Misfortune’s Keep are especially nice. And we also get a couple of new dragons. To sweeten your purchase, LEGO is offering a free #30422 LEGO Ninjago Kai’s Mini Dragon from March 1st to the 25th with purchases of $35 or more. Please note that this promotion is not just for Ninjago related purchases, although I would think it is most interesting to Ninjago fans. You can find all the new sets under the LEGO Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ EARN DOUBLE VIP POINTS: From March 7th to the 22nd, you can earn Double VIP Points on all of your purchases at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop. Double VIP Points only happens a few times a year, so this is a big deal. You basically earn $10 worth of points for every $100 you spend. Your points can then be used for later purchases. Many LEGO fans stock up at this time, especially on large exclusive sets that otherwise never go on sale. So make sure you are logged in with your VIP account this month when you visit the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ FREE DUPLO SET WITH ANY DUPLO PURCHASE: If you have little ones that you buy LEGO DUPLO sets for, you can get a free #30321 LEGO DUPLO Duck with any DUPLO purchase from March 1st to the 25th. Freebies on DUPLO sets are pretty rare, so this is a nice opportunity. You can find them under the LEGO DUPLO section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ NEW LEGO STAR WARS SETS: There is a big wave of new LEGO Star Wars sets, including the #75135 LEGO Star Wars Obi-Wan’s Jedi Interceptor, the #75137 LEGO Star Wars Carbon-Freezing Chamber, the #75138 LEGO Star Wars Hoth Attack, the #75142 LEGO Star Wars Homing Spider Droid, and more. Also, the latest wave of LEGO Star Wars MicroFighters have been released with six new mini vehicles – these are really fun little sets to collect, and they are only $9.99 each. You can find all the new sets under the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ NEW LEGO SUPER HEROES SETS: LEGO Super Heroes is also getting a collection of mini-vehicles and cutified super heroes called Mighty Micros. There are three Mighty Micros sets under the DC Comics and three under the under the Marvel line. They are also $9.99 each – which is a really good price as in these sets we get two vehicles and two minifigs. As far as larger sets, the #76050 LEGO Super Heroes Crossbones’ Hazard Heist, the super awesome #76051 LEGO Super Heroes Airport Battle, and the #76053 LEGO Batman Gotham City Cycle Chase just got released. You can find them all under the LEGO DC Super Heroes, and the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ NEW LEGO MINECRAFT SETS: I was recently reading that LEGO Minecraft is doing exceptionally well, so it is no surprise that a new wave of sets is getting released. Just like with previous waves, we get four new sets; #21123 LEGO Minecraft The Iron Golem, #21124 LEGO Minecraft The End Portal, #21125 LEGO Minecraft The Jungle Tree House, and #21126 LEGO Minecraft The Wither. You can find all the new sets under the LEGO Minecraft section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ NEW LEGO ELVES SETS: LEGO has been releasing a series of beautiful sets in the LEGO Elves line, and this new wave is particularly beautiful. The focus is on dragons, so we get three large brick-built dragons, as well as some very cute baby dragons. The six new sets are as follows; #41171 LEGO Elves Emily Jones & the Baby Wind, #41172 LEGO Elves The Water Dragon, #41173 LEGO Elves Elvendale School of Dragons, #41174 LEGO Elves The Starlight Inn, #41175 LEGO Elves Fire Dragon’s Lava Cave, and #41176 LEGO Elves The Secret Market Place. You can find all the new sets under the LEGO Elves section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO GHOSTBUSTERS FIREHOUSE HQ: Also remember that the #75827 LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ is available and it perfect for the Double VIP Points period. This is one of the largest LEGO sets ever released with a massive 4634 pieces and a price-tag of $349.99. If you want to own the ultimate Ghostbusters set, this is it. You can find it under the LEGO Ghostbusters section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO BATMAN CLASSIC TV SERIES – BATCAVE: The #76052 LEGO Batman Classic TV Series – Batcave is another very large set that is now available for everyone, not just LEGO VIPs. This set is 2526 pieces, and the price is $269.99. It is the ultimate gift for LEGO Batman fans! You can find it under the LEGO DC Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ NEW LEGO JUNIORS SETS: LEGO Juniors is also getting six new sets. LEGO Juniors is aimed at younger kids who are not quite ready for the complexity of larger LEGO sets. The instructions are simple, vehicles and buildings come with pre-made larger pieces. However a lot of older LEGO fans are also interested in these sets because of the nice accessories, and because all the decorated elements are printed instead of using stickers. In this wave the LEGO Juniors offers sets in various LEGO themes; #10720 LEGO Juniors Police Helicopter (LEGO City), #10721 LEGO Super Heroes Iron Man vs. Loki (LEGO Super Heroes), #10722 LEGO Juniors Snake Showdown and #10725 LEGO Juniors Lost Temple (LEGO Ninjago), #10723 LEGO Juniors Ariel’s Dolphin Carriage and #10729 LEGO Juniors Cinderella’s Carriage (LEGO Disney Princess). You can find all the new sets under the LEGO Juniors section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ NEW LEGO SPEED CHAMPIONS SETS: There are seven new LEGO Speed Champions sets to extent your collection of race cars. The largest one is the #75876 Porsche 919 Hybrid and 917K Pit Lane with two vehicles and a pit setup, than the #75875 Ford F-150 Raptor & Ford Model A Hot Rod with a really sweet hot rod and a small garage, and the #75874 Chevrolet Camaro Drag Race with two cars and a start-line. The other sets contain individual race cars and a driver. Note that, just like with previous vehicles in this theme, they are heavily stickered, so the recommended minimum age is a bit higher than normal – these sets are mainly geared towards collectors and those who appreciate realistic LEGO race cars. You can find them all under the LEGO Speed Champions section of the Online LEGO Shop.
As you can see, there is a great variety of new LEGO sets to choose from. If you are a LEGO VIP member, I would suggest that you wait until the 7th of March to take advantage of the Double VIP Points period, although it is possible that some of the new sets will be on backorder by then. So if you really want something fast, you might want to get it now, and just wait to place a larger order until the Double VIP Points period kicks in. Also, don’t forget that LEGO is running a clearance sale at the same time on some really nice older sets, so before you check out visit the Sales and Deals section of the Online LEGO Shop.
So what do you think? How do you like the new sets that were released this month? Do you have some favorites you definitely plan to get? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

The new Marvel Civil War movie sets are amazing. I can’t believe the value in the eighty dollars set with Giant Man and the Quinjet. Lots of nice dark blue. Black Panthers jet is amazing as well, awesome lines on it. The DC motorcycle set is cool, neat to see a Deadshot minifigure as well as a Harley Quinn with the new color scheme. We’ll probably different versions again when Suicide Squad comes out.
Yeah, I’m really surprised about how good the Marvel sets are this time around. I love the jet and that giant minifigs is just outstanding. I don’t much care about the Super Heroes theme, but these are excellent.
I can’t wate to get that deadshot minifig and the new harlly is cool
Oi… there’s so much this month. The January and February releases weren’t that interesting (perhaps excepting Nexo Knights), but I don’t have enough money for everything coming out this month! Between Elves, Ninjago, Speed Champions, and Minecraft (which you forgot to mention, BTW), I cannot decide. 😕 We’ll be going to a LEGO store during 2x VIP points, and I think I’ll get the Raid Zeppelin and something else to get the Kai polybag. The Super Heroes sets are cool too, but I can’t afford them…. 🙁
Also: http://brickset.com/article/19609/lego-group-annual-report-sales-growth-of-19-in-2015 Sheesh, big numbers. I have to wonder if it will be the same for this year; many of the sets this year aren’t as good as last year’s. 😐
I actually had the Minecraft sets added to the list, but when I checked the online shop this morning they were not in the Minecraft section or the what’s new section. So I thought maybe they were delaying release and took out that section of the article. But I just checked again and now they are there, so I added them back. 🙂
I just finished reading the annual report myself. Lots of interesting details. I would say that when something goes up it will eventually has to come down. There are ups and downs in everything. This doesn’t mean that the company will do badly, but there is such a thing as saturation and correction. People are already talking about feeling overwhelmed by the sheer number of LEGO sets and themes being released and not being able to keep up. Also quality and accuracy have been suffering. So it is inevitable that at some point growth will slow down. This is natural.
Another thing I found interesting from the report is how much AFOLs misjudge what are the most popular sets and themes. Everyone is surprised about how well Disney Princess and Friends are doing. Also, according to a previous report Minecraft is doing exceptionally well in the USA. And of course Ninjago is still going strong. And one of the top selling sets is a LEGO City Police set. AFOLs always complain that we always have the same police sets, and nobody wants Minecraft LEGO, and hate on LEGO Friends, but look at how well they are doing. Numbers don’t lie. 😉
The list was apparently based on revenue, not units sold, and larger sets made a bigger profit.
That’s true. It would be interesting to see reports on both numbers.
For some reason the Minecraft, Elves, a few Juniors, and 75136 Droid Escape Pod sets aren’t listed as new on LEGO Shop, but they’re there. I think LEGO is producing more stuff than their team can handle, given how LEGO Shop is frequently problematic. Maybe if they lessened their output number of sets on certain themes, and instead focused on designing a few accurate yet fun sets, they’d still make a profit, but be better able to handle their production. The slowing down of growth you mentioned should probably come sooner, giving LEGO the opportunity to fix any quality issues… or they could just hire me. 😉
I wasn’t particularly surprised at the themes popular themes including Disney Princess. Disney will own the world pretty soon at their rate. Friends, Ninjago, and City are good themes, and there’s no reason for them to be doing poorly, although I find the pricing on some City sets rather excessive. The AFOLs are merely stating their own opinions; apparently most children don’t agree with them. I myself really like Minecraft, Elves, and Ninjago, which is a major issue for my wallet this month. 😕
I’m looking forward to The Mouse running for president. I wouldn’t mind cute Disney characters as our overlords. And yes, agree with pretty much everything else you mentioned. The recall of relatively large number of LEGO sets last year was troubling. Also, reports on missing parts are increasing. So I think it would be good for LEGO to slow down and reorganize themselves a little.
I didn’t think these were new, I can see these in stores now.
Yay! Thanks LEGO the double VIP points is during the week of my B-Day! I’m totally spending all of my money for winning in the LEGO competition! 😀
Sounds fun! Let us know what you get! 😀
Not only is double VIP points coming up, but apparently North America is getting the Iconic Easter Chicken Suit Guy minifig promo in a couple of weeks as well. Or at least that’s what I was told when I asked if they were going to be available in Canada.
Yeah, that Chicken Suit guy is going to be very popular. There are also rumors about the Bunny Suit Guy, but I haven’t seen any confirmation.
Well, there is an Easter poster in Germany I think, that uses the bunny suit guy, but it is like an advertisement for some set. Also Admin I am actually releasing my Batmobile instructions, https://youtu.be/Ji4MOqUxyz4
That’s a very impressive model. Reminds me of the Ultra Agent Infearno Interception with that transforming function. Also nice that it has suspension. Looks great!
Actually I built this about 2 years before that set…lol maybe they stole my idea. :gasp:
