There has been rumors circulating about an exciting new set coming this fall, based on Cinderella’s Castle at Walt Disney World Resort. According to this discussion at Eurobricks, the #71040 LEGO Disney Cinderella’s Castle is going to be a large exclusive set with regular minifigures (instead of mini-dolls). Which means it should be perfect for the upcoming LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures, and we will likely get even more iconic Disney characters. 🙂
The Walt Disney Cinderella’s Castle was inspired by some of the most breathtaking castles of Europe, and is truly beautiful and magical in its own right. I hope the LEGO version of the set will be big enough and substantial enough to convey the beauty of the castle. We can also take a look at the castles and palaces LEGO already released under the LEGO Disney Princess line to see some of the elements, colors and designs LEGO may employ in the new LEGO Disney Cinderella’s Castle. Keep in mind that these are play-sets aimed at young girls, and are in the $40-$70 price-range – so smaller and simpler than what we can expect from a large exclusive set.
➡ #41055 LEGO DISNEY PRINCESS CINDERELLA’S ROMANTIC CASTLE: This is the largest of the LEGO Disney Princess castles with 646 pieces and a price of $69.99. I think the light-blue, white and gold color combination is very nice, and the pointy round towers do resemble the real Cinderella’s castle. Cinderella’s Romantic Castle measures over 11” (30cm) high, 9” (25cm) wide and 8” (22cm) deep, so quite substantial. It includes Cinderella and Prince Charming, plus Lucifer the cat and Bruno the dog. The set was first released in 2014, and is still available under the LEGO Disney Princess section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ #41068 LEGO DISNEY PRINCESS ARENDELLE CASTLE CELEBRATION: This is the second largest LEGO Disney Princess castle with 477 pieces and a price of $59.99. The color combination on this castle is a bit unusual. The castle in the film got more muted, real castle colors, which LEGO designers tried to imitate with the tan walls. However they also added more of the usual LEGO Disney Princess colors, which didn’t work too well in my opinion. Sand-green roof pieces would have looked much better, and would be closer to the original castle – but then the whole thing would look more like a LEGO Harry Potter castle, rather than a LEGO Disney Princess one. So I can see the dilemma designers faced here. It is still a good looking castle with very nice accessories and great minifigures. Arendelle Castle measures over 10” (27cm) high, 8” (22cm) wide and 5” (13cm) deep. It includes Elsa and Anna mini-doll figures with outfits from Frozen Fever, plus Olaf the snowman and 3 mini snowmen. The set was released earlier this year, and is available under the LEGO Disney Princess section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ #41063 LEGO DISNEY PRINCESS ARIEL’S UNDERSEA PALACE: This is actually my favorite LEGO Disney Princess castle. Okay, it’s a palace, but a palace is just a prettier castle, isn’t it? The soft yellow walls with gold highlights and dark-pink roof pieces look beautiful. This set is only 379 pieces and $54.99, and is totally worth it in my opinion. Ariel’s Undersea Palace measures over 9” (23cm) high, 9” (25cm) wide and 4” (12cm) deep. It includes Ariel and Alana mini-doll figures, plus Sebastian the crab, Flounder the fish and a dolphin. The set was released in 2015, and is still available under the LEGO Disney Princess section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ #41062 LEGO DISNEY PRINCESS ELSA’S SPARKLING ICE CASTLE: This set was a huge hit released before last Christmas season, with stores having a hard time keeping it in stock. It is actually a relatively small castle with only 292 pieces and a price of $39.99, but somehow it manages to look quite substantial. The tall translucent-blue pieces and large arches probably help with this illusion. While the structure itself has a very simple shape, the beautiful color-combination and nice accessories make this set a real winner. Elsa’s Sparkling Ice Castle measures over 9” (23cm) high, 7” (20cm) wide and 4” (11cm) deep. It includes Queen Elsa and Princess Anna mini-doll figures, plus Olaf the snowman. The set is available under the LEGO Disney Princess section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ #41067 LEGO DISNEY PRINCESS BELLE’S ENCHANTED CATLE: This set hasn’t been released yet as of this writing, but there is already a lot of excitement about it because of the nice castle, great accessories and brand new characters from Beauty and the Beast. It contains 374 pieces and the price is going to be $49.99. Should be available this summer under the LEGO Disney Princess section of the Online LEGO Shop.
And that wraps up the LEGO Disney Princess castles we got so far. Again, the #71040 LEGO Disney Cinderella’s Castle is assumed to be a lot larger and more detailed than these sets, but still looking at them can give us an idea about what LEGO is capable of when it comes to Disney castles.
What do you think? Are you excited about the upcoming LEGO Disney Cinderella’s Castle? What do you think it will look like? How big and detailed is it going to be in your opinion? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

I’m very curious about this. It could be great for castle builders, or it could be just another Disney Princess type set.
If this would be a proper castle, that would be great! 😀
A proper castle and regular minifigs will be great!
Yeah, I’m really curious to see how LEGO approaches this set! 😀
If this castle is an exclusive and fits minifigures, it’s going to be great. My only concern is how expensive this set will be. Seeing as how I’m going to NEED this set.
I know the feeling! 😀
This set is what my VIP points have been waiting for…
