In August we got a very large number of new LEGO sets, so September is a more quiet month. This is a good thing though, as it allows LEGO fans to catch up on some of the new sets they have been saving up for. But the quiet doesn’t last that long, as on the 15th of the month LEGO VIP members get access to not one, but two brand new exclusive sets! And there are also a couple of promotions you might want to take advantage of. Below are the details of all the September LEGO shopping events. 🙂
➡ FREE LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS SET: From September 5th to the 18th you can get a free LEGO Nexo Knights Ultimate Lavaria set with purchases of $50 or more. If you haven’t tried out LEGO Nexo Knights yet, this is a good way to get one of the main characters, and some of the interesting new accessories. This offer is valid on all LEGO purchases, not just on LEGO Nexo Knights sets. It will be added to your shopping cart when you are ready to check out at the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ DOUBLE VIP POINTS ON NEXO KNIGHTS SETS: The second promotion is also related to LEGO Nexo Knights this month. You can earn Double VIP Points on the #70321 LEGO Nexo Knights General Magmar’s Siege Machine of Doom (love that name!), and the #70315 LEGO Nexo Knights Clay’s Rumble Blade. Also, make sure you check out all the other awesome new LEGO Nexo Knights sets that were released last month (if you haven’t done so already). Some of the most notable ones are the #70321 LEGO Nexo Knights General Magamar’s Siege Machine of Doom, the #70322 LEGO Nexo Knights Axl’s Tower Carrier, the #70323 LEGO Nexo Knights Jestro’s Volcano Lair, and the #70326 LEGO Nexo Knights The Black Knight Mech. You can find all the new sets under the LEGO Nexo Knights section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO DISNEY CASTLE AVAILABLE: The LEGO VIP early access quantities of the #71040 LEGO Disney Castle sold out within just a few days when the set became available for LEGO VIP members last month. So yeah, this castle is hot, and all reviews on it have been glowingly positive. It is now available for everyone, not just LEGO VIP members, and hopefully LEGO will be able to keep up with the demand. As I mentioned last month, I expect this set to be backordered and hard-to-find as we get closer to the holidays , so it you really want one, I would suggest to get it as soon as possible. You can find it under the LEGO Exclusives section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO HOLIDAY TRAIN VIP EARLY ACCESS: The #10254 LEGO Creator Winter Holiday Train is going to be available for LEGO VIP members on the 15th of September. This is one of the nicest holiday sets LEGO ever released, and it is a perfect match for the LEGO Winter Village series. Or you can just set it up to run around the Christmas tree or your LEGO city. You also get a full circle of train-tracks, and the train can be motorized with LEGO Power Functions. I expect this set to be very popular and hard-to-find. You can read more about it and watch the designer video here: LEGO Holiday Train Pictures & More! It will be available under the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO STAR WARS DEATH STAR VIP EARLY ACCESS: The second set that LEGO VIP members will have early access to on the 15th of September is the new version of the #75159 LEGO Star Wars Death Star. The set is basically the exact same thing as the #10188 LEGO Star Wars Death Star that was released back in 2008 and remained a best-seller until its recent retirement. The new version of the set has a slightly larger part-count, and updated minifigures. If you don’t own the original set, you might want to check it out. It will be available under the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO MINECRAFT SKIN-PACKS & MORE: The #21127 LEGO Minecraft The Fortress is now available. This is the set we talked about recently that includes the first LEGO Minecraft horse! Also, the two new LEGO Mincraft Skin Packs are now available. You can find them under the LEGO Minecraft section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ NEW LEGO ARCHITECTURE SETS: Two new LEGO Architecture sets are now available, both highly praised by LEGO fans. The two sets are the #21029 LEGO Architecture Buckingham Palace and the #21030 LEGO Architecture United States Capitol Building. You can find them under the LEGO Architecture section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO CREATOR VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE: The #10252 LEGO Creator Volkswagen Beetle became available last month, but I wanted to highlight it here again because I think it is one of the nicest sets of the year, and with a very reasonable price. You can find a full review of the set here: LEGO Volkswagen Beetle Review & Thoughts. It is available under the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ NEW 2016 LEGO NINJAGO SETS: Nine new LEGO Ninjago sets released last month, and I thought to do a bit of a recap to make sure you don’t miss out. The #70588 LEGO Ninjago Titanium Ninja Tumbler, the #70589 LEGO Ninjago Rock Raider, the #70590 LEGO Ninjago Airjitzu Battle Grounds, the #70591 LEGO Ninjago Kryptarium Prison Breakout, and the #70592 LEGO Ninjago Salvage M.E.C. are small to mid-size sets, but they all have interesting features. The #70593 LEGO Ninjago Green NRG Dragon comes with an awesome dragon, and the #70594 LEGO Ninjago Lighthouse Siege got a nice Asian-style building. The two largest sets are the #70595 LEGO Ninjago Ultra Stealth Raider, and the #70596 LEGO Ninjago Samurai X Cave Chaos. You can find them all under the LEGO Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ NEW 2016 LEGO SUPER HEROES SETS: Three new sets for released for LEGO Marvel fans last month; the #76057 LEGO Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle, the #76058 LEGO Spider-Man: Ghost Rider Team-up, and the #76059 LEGO Spider-Man: Doc Ock’s Tentacle Trap. And Batman fans got the #76054 LEGO Batman Scarecrow Harvest of Fear, and the #76055 LEGO Batman Killer Croc Sewer Smash. You can find them all under the LEGO Marver Super Heroes and LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes sections of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ NEW 2016 LEGO TECHNIC SETS: The #42055 LEGO Technic Bucket Wheel Excavator also became available last month. With almost four thousand pieces, this is the largest LEGO Technic set ever released. There are some other really excellent new LEGO Technic sets as well, including the #42054 LEGO Technic CLAAS XERION 5000 TRAC VC, and the #42053 LEGO Technic Volvo EW160E. You can find them at the LEGO Technic section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ NEW 2016 LEGO FRIENDS SETS: The LEGO Friends Amusement Park sets are also new releases. This includes the #41127 LEGO Friends Amusement Park Arcade, the #41128 LEGO Friends Amusement Park Space Ride, the #41129 LEGO Friends Amusement Park Hot Dog Van, the #41130 LEGO Friends Amusement Park Roller Coaster, and the #41133 LEGO Friends Amusement Park Bumper Cars. There are some other noteworthy new LEGO Friends sets, including the #41126 LEGO Friends Heartlake Riding Club, the #41132 LEGO Friends Heartlake Party Shop, the #41134 LEGO Friends Heartlake Performance School, and more. You can find them all under the LEGO Friends section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ NEW 2016 LEGO ELVES SETS: LEGO Elves also got some very beautiful new sets, including the #41177 LEGO Elves Precious Crystal Mine, the #41178 LEGO Elves Dragon Sanctuary, the #41179 LEGO Elves Queen Dragon’s Rescue, the #41180 LEGO Elves Ragana’s Magic Shadow Castle. You can find them at the LEGO Elves section of the Online LEGO Shop.
As you can see, there are plenty of new LEGO sets to choose from. And this might also be a good time to start planning for the holidays and make a wish-list for Santa. If you have any of the large exclusive sets on your list like the #10252 LEGO Creator Volkswagen Beetle, the #71040 LEGO Disney Castle, the #10253 LEGO Creator Big Ben, the #42056 LEGO Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and some of the earlier large sets, I would suggest that you get those as soon as possible, as they will likely be backordered by the time the holiday shopping season comes around. The smaller and wider release sets should be readily available at most LEGO retailers and the Online LEGO Shop. Also, remember that LEGO lowered the minimum threshold for free shipping from $75 to $35. So if you just want to make a smaller purchase now it is easier to qualify for free shipping.
And as I always mention, it is a good idea to take a look at the Sales & Deals section of the Online LEGO Shop before you check out. You can often find some great deals there on interesting older sets that are being retired. Last time I checked there was a large number of LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Nexo Knights, LEGO Angry Birds, LEGO Friends and more sets on clearance. You can find them all under the Sales & Deals section of the Online LEGO Shop.
So what do you think? Are you interested in any of the news sets and promotions this month? What are you planning to get? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

You didn’t mention the Minecraft sets (the Fortress 21127 and the 2 Skin Packs) the Architecture sets (21029 & 21030), or the Advent Calendars (60133, 41131, & 75146), which, besides the Disney Castle, are the new sets of this month.
Nonetheless, none of these new sets are of interest to me, except the Fortress, and I won’t be buying any. I’m holding off on Nexo Knights in case something totally awesome comes out next year, otherwise that Lavaria promo is pretty good. But I’m waiting for the release of the Rogue One sets on the 30th, which are in my opinion the best Star Wars sets of 2016. LEGO has revealed them: http://brickset.com/article/23348/rogue-one-sets-revealed They’re all pretty good. 🙂
BTW, speaking of pictures, admin, your pic of the Death Star in the article didn’t show up. It just says “picture”.
Yeah, I know. Some of the info was not available yesterday when I wrote the article. I will add them shorty. 🙂
Okay, I updated the article with everything except the Advent Calendars. I plan to write about those separately. Also, I just noticed that the Series 16 minifigures are back in stock! Here is the link: Series 16 Minifigs at the Online LEGO Shop
Ok, I see the updates. All good. 🙂
I’ve been seeing Series 16 CMFs listed as “available now” and a Top Seller all this week. Definitely great, since they were out of stock for quite some time. Hopefully they’ll still be around when I make it to the LEGO Store in October, although given the CMFs’ popularity I doubt it. 🙁
Also, I noticed yesterday that LEGO.com Home is working properly for my computer now, with the expanding icons and such. Don’t know how that happened, maybe I updated Adobe before vacation, but it’s good. 🙂 The site was just updated as well, now with stuff about the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 42056.
Glad to hear that your browser problems are fixed. Computer issues can be so annoying! BTW, there is a tropical storm/almost hurricane passing over us, so if you guys don’t hear from me, I may have lost internet connection.
LEGO is getting better with sets and themes . It’s been a good summer in the LEGOSTUFF71’s house hold . I got a lot of sets 1) GHOSTBUSTER FIREHOUSE 2) JESTRO’S VOLCANO LAIR 3) SPIDER-MAN’S ULTIMATE BRIDGE BATTLE 4) CREATORS VACATION GETAWAYS and those are just the big sets theirs more, but, I won’t list the rest. Plus, I moved to a bigger house and I have a LEGO ROOM( once was a garage but was made it an extra room.)
That’s awesome! Looks like you have a lot to build and play with! And I’m jealous of your LEGO room! 😀
I was worried for a while , because I was running out of space and thought I would have to cut back or stop collecting. But things worked out and now I am going to be a smarter shopper and keep with the themes I have and try not to step out of that box ( as hard it my be to do.) Admin you are more than welcome to come and build in my LEGO room.
Well, thank you, if I travel your way, I might take you up on that. Just to see what you got. It’s always nice to visit other LEGO fans. 🙂
I’m glad things worked out so you can continue in the hobby. Yes, it makes sense to restrict yourself to certain themes, with the occasional dabbling in other themes just to try them out. After a while it is natural to slow down and start to build your own thing with what you already got.
Yeah, geez… Comics, Lego, DVD:s etc tend to take up way too much space here… It’s likely I’ll move to some bigger place in a more boring, remote part of the city in some years… (I’m a boring, remote person anyway…)
Oh, come on now, keep your chin up. LEGO fans are awesome, and you certainly don’t come across as boring or remote. You are here almost every day entertaining all of us! If you run out of space, you can just build a second story with LEGO. 😉
Good idea, I’ll send an application to the Swedish National Board of Housing…
Anyway, I might brighten up the imaginary “boring, remote” part of the city when I move there, anyway…
Aren’t you guys already building everything from IKEA, which is basically the same thing as LEGO? 🙄
There exists some housing constructed from building blocks, more or less, but it’s meant to be temporary…
Here in Florida all housing is temporary. A hurricane can blow you away at any time. Last night was really bad. I hardly slept because the wind was so loud, and big tree branches were cracking and crashing everywhere. Fortunately we didn’t have any major damage, but up the street there a several huge trees that fell. I will bike around later to see how the rest of town is doing. Right now the wind is still too strong to be outside. Falling trees and flying branches are a big issue, although the rain stopped. My heart goes out to people in the Gulf of Mexico side of Florida. They were hit the worst.
Well, at least you made it through ok.
Unfortunately it’s supposed to move up the coast to where I live, and I live next to a forest. Although, I’m somewhat inland, so I’m more worried for all the people and houses along the shoreline. It floods very easily there. 😕
Stay safe. Going through big storms like this is never easy. Check your trees and other nearby trees to make sure they all look healthy. Tie down or put away large, but lightweight items (lawn chairs, etc.) The biggest thing with this storm has been tornadoes and storm surges. If you are inland it is probably going to be like in my area; heavy rain and very strong winds.
Apparently it’s supposed to be about 200 miles or so off the coast when it reaches me, so all I will get will be rain and a possibly strong breeze. Your advice is good though. And although I’d like to see a tornado with mine own eyes, I’d rather not see it near my house. 🙂
However I’m afraid the shore will get hit much harder, with major flooding and winds maybe worse than what you have had. 😕
Also, on an unrelated topic, LEGO.com/Star Wars has alternate images for the Rogue One sets, and I can’t tell if the Dark Grey cone piece on the back of the Tie Striker is new… I haven’t found a match for it. What do you think? http://www.lego.com/en-us/starwars/products/tie-striker-75154
Oh, my! That does look like a new piece! It looks similar to this cone piece, but more shallow: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=4742#T=C
Yeah, that’s the only part I could find that was similar. I found that part on LDD, and it has a Ø32 (4 stud) diameter and is Ø16 (2 studs) high, while this new one appears to be 5 studs (Ø40) in diameter and only 1 stud (Ø8) tall. I think this may be LEGO’s first 5X5 element. There are also 2 on the AT-ST, one on each side of the head. These Rogue One sets are pretty cool, and so far they look more accurate to the movie than the TFA sets did. 🙂
This is going to be a very useful part. I’m working on a new space-station and may try to incorporate it. I always liked interesting looking parts like this. LEGO has been adding some odd stud pieces in the last few years. I find the 3×3 plate particularly helpful.
Dag… Sounds like Japan… I heard that their “oldest” castles actually have been routinely deconstructed and identically rebuilt… It’s a question of definition, I guess…
Those who deal with anything creative ( like LEGO) are to me the most interesting people , because they have a lot to share and talk about. Try staying in a hobby were you have no one to talk to about except on a web sight . That’s my world. I make it work .
Nicely said. Also, while a lot of LEGO fans are very social, others like to keep the hobby more private – sort of like a sacred meditation practice. But they may still interact with other LEGO fans online. And there are those who don’t communicate with anyone about the hobby at all. But they have amazing super secret LEGO rooms. They tend to be older LEGO fans who have been in the hobby for decades, when LEGO was not accepted so much as a pastime for adults.
