Back in August Universal Studios announced that it has teamed up with the LEGO Group for the release of the animated short, LEGO Jurassic World: The Indominus Escape. The film has been released last week on the Jurassic World and LEGO YouTube Channels as a 5-part series. The episodes will also be combined to create a full 24-minute animated film, and will be included with an exclusive 8-minute short that will be released on October 18, as part of the Jurassic World/LEGO Jurassic World DVD 2-Pack. Below I have included the five episodes for your viewing pleasure. 🙂
LEGO versions of movies and various spin-offs are always fun to watch, as LEGO’s humor is funny and enjoyable, and the animation is great. In the video-player below you can watch all five episodes, and I have also included the synopsis of each episode. Enjoy!
➡ LEGO JURASSIC WORLD MINI-MOVIE PART 1: Simon Masrani, CEO of the Masrani Corporation and head of Jurassic World, discusses park operations with Claire during a turbulent helicopter ride. After an airsick Claire wobbles out of the helicopter, the hapless CEO takes off and causes an accident, leaving the atrium in a pile of bricks and inadvertently freeing the Pteranodons. The vicious prehistoric birds assault Simon, forcing master dinosaur trainer Owen Grady to mount an air rescue mission with his Pteranodon, Tango. They land safely and before Masrani is taken away in an ambulance, he tells Claire to find a new park attraction, and find it fast!
➡ LEGO JURASSIC WORLD MINI-MOVIE PART 2: Claire has a great idea for the attraction Simon wanted…a new dinosaur! “You can’t just build a dinosaur,” Owen says. But he’s wrong. They totally can! Especially after a visit to Dr. Wu’s lab where we find out about his hybrid creations: genetically engineered dinos made from the DNA of more than one creature. Meanwhile, we’re introduced to Dino Man, the park’s new mascot. Unfortunately for Dino Man, the park’s overzealous head of security, Hoskins, thinks he’s real and the hunt is on!
➡ LEGO JURASSIC WORLD MINI-MOVIE PART 3: Claire takes Owen to see the parks newest attraction that Dr. Wu cooked up in his lab: the smartest, most vicious dinosaur ever…the Indominus rex! They demonstrate its awesome abilities including increased strength, and active camouflage! Most importantly, we learn that it loves hot dogs and it will do anything to get more of them. Meanwhile, for safety reasons Claire updates the parks mascot from Dino Man to Hot Dog man. The Indominus rex breaks free from its pen in a hungry filled rage and it is up to Owen to save the day! This does not look good for Hot Dog man.
➡ LEGO JURASSIC WORLD MINI-MOVIE PART 4: Claire, Owen, and his raptors are leading the chase after the Indominus and there’s not a moment to lose! Everything is going to according to plan until Claire’s vehicle shatters into a pile of bricks leaving Claire in a very precarious situation and Owen…surfing through the jungle? Owen thinks his raptors will help them, but that doesn’t work out as planned. They manage to capture the Indominus but it was suspiciously easy to do, leaving Owen and Claire a little confused. The Indominus isn’t that smart, is it?
➡ LEGO JURASSIC WORLD MINI-MOVIE PART 5: Claire sets a trap for the hot dog loving dinosaur and is confident it will work, but she didn’t think about one thing… the huge appetite of the Indominus rex! When the trap goes awry and the Indominus ravages the park brick by brick, Owen springs into action with a plan of his own, but he has to leave Claire in order to do it. Just as the Indominus is starting to get the upper hand, Owen comes back and he’s not alone! With a few new friends by their side, Owen and Claire take on the Indominus rex in the final battle to save the park. But what does Masrani think of Claire’s new attraction? And whatever happened to Dr. Wu…?

The 24 minute film is already available for viewing on Netflix. I watched it over the weekend. Per the norm of their films, it’s got some clever humor in it.
Yeah, LEGO always have funny humor. It’s good, clean entertainment. 🙂
Absolutely hilarious. Never knew that the Indominus Rex liked hot dogs so much. Also, the end bit with Dr. Wu left me wondering, will there be a sequel?
Wait…What?
Isn’t LEGO Jurassic World, like, OVER? We’ve only gotten one wave of sets, and it’s been a year since the theme started.
Yeah, this is a franchise theme, it’s only valid as long as there’s a related movie running to sell it…
