There are some miscellaneous news items related to The LEGO Ninjago Movie that I thought to write about today, so we can discuss them all in one place. As you probably know already, the film is going to be released on September 22nd, and there is a lot of excitement for the movie from long-time Ninjago fans, LEGO fans, and people who liked The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie. And of course, LEGO and Warner Bros. are going to fuel the fire until the movie gets released.
Let’s start with this very interesting video where Jackie Chan talks about how working with his stunt team shaped the action-scenes in The LEGO Ninjago Movie. The video even includes side-by-side clips of the stunt team in action and scenes from the movie. I find it very impressive how carefully the animators worked to make sure the fight-scenes are believable. Translating human movement to square little LEGO minifigs is never easy, especially with complex moves like fighting. And, Jackie Chan didn’t just choreograph the action-scenes, but he is also going to be the voice of Master Wu in the film. Very exciting!
There are also a bunch of posters related to The LEGO Ninjago Movie with each of the main characters, the awesome vehicles and mechs, and some action-scenes. I’m not exactly sure how and where these posters will be available, but keep an eye out for them. They look gorgeous and are highly collectible.
In addition, Warner Bros. and The LEGO Group partnered up with top retailers and licensees to release everything from apparel, costumes, books and more. Below is the press-release highlighting many of these items. They will be available from various retailers like Wal-Mart, Target and Toys’R’Us, and directly from LEGO.

I would love to collect those posters!
Do the t-shirts and hoodies come in adult sizes?
They are usually meant for kids, but if you are a smaller adult, and with kids getting so big these days (sadly), it’s possible that you will find an adult size.
I’ve seen T-shirts made for Afol’s, though, but it seems they’re mostly made by third parties…
And they might often reference older, more nostalgic themes than Ninjago…
Yes, those are more like novelty items for AFOLs. 🙂
I may do something really crazy here and skip force Friday and focus on NINJAGO sets instead. I know double VIP points but , so what . Just because everyone else does it doesn’t mean I have to. Besides , most of the STAR WARS sets are using the same model ideas that the earlier movies have already done . So, nothing new there. I am not a Borg ( STAR TREK Lol..) The NINJAGO sets are a little bit cheaper and a better selection .
There is nothing crazy about that. I’m doing the same. The Ninjago Movie sets are really the slam dunk this year. They are great fun, look awesome on display, and a pleasure to build. Star Wars is all gray stuff. As far as Double VIP Points, that will come up later this year as well. 😉
Alamo theaters is running a Lego build contest to win free opening day tickets to The LEGO Ninjago Movie.

Deadline to enter is 11:59pm on Sunday, September 10th.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing that! 😀
I to the point where I go a cross the board on various sets. This time it’s NINJAGO next time it would be something else. It’s where ever my budget can take me . Things are getting a lot more expensive in the LEGO universe and just can’t afford a set that looks a lot similar like last years wave. ( STAR WARS is one of those waves). I am still in the NINJAGO / NEXOKNIGHTS haze ( and some of it’s purple. Lol.)
I have recently been working on a carnival ride with some parts inspired/borrowed from Ninjago, some parts inspired/borrowed from Nexo Knights, some parts inspired/borrowed from Elves, and some parts inspired/borrowed from Technic.
Purple Haze sounds like a good idea… Kiss the skies, and these guys…
And the carnival ride sounds interesting.
Oh! Would love to see that! 😀
Star Wars is pretty much a staple, so yeah, if you miss this wave, you should still be able to find the sets later on sale, or find similar sets in the future. Star Wars is more like for collectors, and LEGO is coming up with newer, better versions of many of the older sets. This will most likely continue in the future, as long as Star Wars is going to be around. It’s almost like Star Wars is becoming like City; the same police and fire stations over and over again! 😀
So I may have bought the Kai Zx and Zane ZX spinner sets off of ebay and amazon to complete my ZX ninja collection finally lol
5-6 years later…
That’s awesome! I still like the original spinners the most, and the ZX suits are my favorites. Some of the other suits are a bit too far out, but the ZX suits are the most traditional ninja-like, with just enough details. Nice to have you over, by the way! 😀
Yeah I still play with my younger brother sometimes. I really wish they had continued to make spinners but oh well.
Oh, good. Somebody got my Jimi Hendrix reference. ( for those of you who didn’t get it). Rock on with LEGO! Just like rock ‘n roll , LEGO will never die.
Oh, a bed-cover! Hope they make them thinner though, I’d burn up under that thing.
Yes, they do have more variations. I only posted one picture as a reference. They have regular sheets too. 🙂
I loved the Lego Movie more than words can say and the Batman Movie was cute, I enjoyed it but I felt a bit letdown by the new movie. I just didn’t really feel any connection to the characters. It felt like the movie was trying too hard to be funny. I probably won’t buy the movie. I did however love the movie’s minifigure series and bought a few
