Happy Halloween! Hope you have a spooky, fun, and candy filled day! On another note, this is just a quick reminder that today is the last day to get Double VIP Points at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop. At this time, we do not know if there will be any other opportunities before the end of the year to get Double VIP Points, so if you have been looking for new LEGO sets either for yourself or as holiday gifts, this might be your last chance to earn extra points. In addition, the online LEGO Holiday Gift Shop is now open, which is just a helpful way LEGO organizes sets to assist with your holiday shopping. Below are the details. 🙂
As you probably know already, the LEGO Double VIP Points period is not the time to spend your already earned points, but to accumulate more. While currently you can earn Double VIP Points on any set, it is best to focus on large and exclusive sets that normally do not go on sale. Essentially, Double VIP Points means a 10% discount, which you can often find at various retailers that regularly discount LEGO sets around the holidays. However, exclusives are often sold only by LEGO directly, so purchasing them during a Double VIP Points period is pretty much the only time you will find them at a discount.
Some sets you may consider during the Double VIP Points period that normally don’t go on sale are the #75192 LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon, the very popular #75159 LEGO Star Wars Death Star, the beautiful #71043 LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle, the #10261 LEGO Creator Roller Coaster (a super impressive set!), the #70620 LEGO Ninjago City and #70657 LEGO Ninjago City Docks (two large city sections with an Asian flair), the lovely #10256 LEGO Creator Taj Mahal, the magical #71040 LEGO Disney Castle, the #70922 LEGO Batman Movie The Joker Manor, and the #76105 LEGO Super Heroes The Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition. For a full selection of sets check out the Exclusives and Hard to Find section of the Online LEGO Shop.
As mentioned above, the LEGO Holiday Gift Shop is also open, which is a great place to find everything from small stocking stuffers and holiday-themed sets, to some of the most popular and sought after exclusives. Sets are organized into various categories, so it’s easy to find gifts for LEGO fans with different building styles and interests. The LEGO Holiday Gift Shop will remain open even after the Double VIP Points period is over, so you can use it all the way until Christmas.
Holiday shopping traditionally begins in November, and we will talk more about news sets and special offers tomorrow. However, according to the November LEGO Store Calendar, Double VIP Points will only be offered on select LEGO sets. So, if you would like to earn extra points, it’s best to do it now to make sure you don’t miss out. It’s also a good idea to purchase holiday-specific sets like the LEGO Advent Calendars and LEGO Winter Village sets early, before everyone thinks about getting them. Also, remember that you get free shipping with any purchase of $35 or more.
Happy shopping, and feel free so share what you got or planning to get during the Double VIP Points period! Also, did you make any interesting LEGO Halloween decoration? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

Overwhelmed from to many choices , I walk in to my Lego store and walk out with nothing purchased. Doesn’t happen to me very often, but, it did this time. I think it’s the prices that throw me . If it’s star wars I can do $30 to $40 dollar sets and that’s it. If it’s city I can do a little better but not much. I already have $15. On my VIP card. But I also saw some great sales at target. So, I went with target and save money rather than earn money. I also wanted the arctic supply plane, but it’s $80. And I didn’t have the money. So , I bought it on Amazon for $64. Instead . I’ve noticed that when star wars or super heroes sets are too expensive I always turn to Lego city.
Yeah, with high prices and so many options, it makes sense to be a savvy shopper. It’s definitely extra effort that can sometimes feel overwhelming. What I do is to use the wishlist feature of the Online LEGO Shop, and add the sets that I like. I let them sit there for a while, and if I still like them a month of so later, I will transfer them to my shopping bag. Then, it’s time to hunt for the best price, be that the Online LEGO Shop with VIP points, or Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon, eBay, etc. It’s hard work to hunt for LEGO! 😀
I’ve rarely bought anything else than PAB bricks and BAM minifigs at Lego stores, myself.
EBAY!!!! Buy all your sets on ebay find a good deal and then get it cheaper by making an offer. I save like 50% on every set I buy.
I’m wary that there’ll be a lot of scams on Ebay, with those prices… I stick to regular sales, as far as possible… (And second hand bulks…)
Will you guys have a review on the Winter Village Post Office? I’m curious about that set but not 100% sold on it yet.
Yes, William is working on a review right now. 🙂
Thanks for the reminder. Didn’t want to miss this.
I just got my holiday Lego catalog. Let the madness begin.lol! My thought process if it’s a set I think of the most and also the set that will be most useful for my collection. That’s the one I get. In fact, I’m using the star wars Echo base ( an old set i have) as the main headquarters for my arctic theme. Do you think I should have my arctic explorers ride tauntauns , or is that to close to the star wars theme?🤔
You should totally have tauntauns! Why not? Star wars is reality! Star Wars is life!
Sammy, I like the way you think. 😎
Don’t know who the “LEGO” guy is but posting it twice makes me think this might be a scammer. or spammer. either way. Keep in mind there’s a lot of counterfeit stuff on eBay. This is generally a small forum of people with similar interests. who generally behave. Admin, I hate to say it but I think we have eBay spammer here. I know it’s troublesome to deal with and I’ve seen it on other sites.
Dear “LEGO,” if you are really trying to be helpful and join this community, please stop posting multiple messages just telling us to use an online site. This current discussion is about the double-VIP points thing from Lego.com, not another site. I’d appreciate if you can keep on that topic. Hate to get so grumbly on this friendly board…
Hm… thanks for bringing this to my attention. I did delete the duplicate message, but since “LEGO” didn’t include any links or anything else spammy or dangerous, I will let one of their comments stay. They may be just new around here. (“LEGO”, you are welcome to speak up for yourself, if you like.)
We do have several safety measures in place to discourage scammers, spammers, and other badguys and keep the community safe. As far as eBay, I do shop there regularly myself (just received a package today, yay!), so checking out eBay is not a bad suggestion in itself. But yes, there are dangers on eBay too! Stay safe, and happy Halloween everyone! 😀
But to end on a friendlier note, yes, I used the double-VIP points this weekend at a local retail store. Got the Ninjago City Docks which I really wanted, the new Holiday set, and the newly-release “book.” There was a meet the Designers event at the store and if you bought the set, you could get to meet them and have the box signed (I suspect nobody will actually tamper with such a box by opening it after!). However even though the even was supposed to start at 11, by 10:30 the line was already really big and I didn’t have the time that day to wait. I was able to buy the set but the line for the signature was just too long. The store definitely had stocked-up on the book set to prepare for the event. At least I can say I got to see the designers signing other people’s boxes!
You already got the Pop-Up Book?! AND Ninjago City Docks?! I’m so jealous! Happy building! 😀
