To celebrate the release of The LEGO Movie 2 this weekend, LEGO is giving us some nice little surprises. First of all, this weekend only, LEGO is offering Double VIP Points on all sets related to The LEGO Movie 2! We haven’t had a wider Double VIP Points offer like this for a while, so this should make a lot of LEGO fans happy. And you can also get a freebie with orders over $40! Details below. 🙂
The Double VIP Points offer is valid on all sets from The LEGO Movie 2, but the offer will only last until Sunday, end of the day. This means you can purchase the larger sets this weekend, like the #70828 LEGO Movie 2 Pop-Up Party Bus, the #70835 LEGO Movie 2 Rex’s Rexplorer and even the huge #70840 LEGO Movie 2 Welcome to Apocalypseburg set and receive Double VIP Points!
And, of course, you can also focus on the medium size sets like the #70830 LEGO Movie 2 Sweet Mayhem’s Systar Starship with an interesting spaceship in unusual colors, the #70831 LEGO Movie 2 Emmet’s Dream House that transforms into a rescue rocket, and the #70834 LEGO Movie 2 MetalBeard’s Heavy Metal Motor Trike perfect for steampunk fans! You can read/watch reviews on all of these sets here: The LEGO Movie 2 Sets Video-Reviews & More!
There is also a nice selection amongst the smaller sets, like the different builder boxes for Emmet, Lucy, and Queen Watevra, the #70827 LEGO Movie 2 Ultrakatty & Warrior Lucy for Unikitty fans, and the highly popular #70841 LEGO Movie 2 Benny’s Space Squad.
The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures are also available now, along with the #853874 LEGO Movie 2 Emmet’s Construction Pod, and the #853865 The LEGO Movie 2 Accessory Set with Emmet and two Sewer Babies! Finally, we can get some Sewer Babies! Yay!
In addition to Double VIP Points, you will also get the #30460 LEGO Movie 2 Rex’s Plantimal Ambush with purchases of $40 or more. This offer is only for The LEGO Movie 2 sets, and it is valid until February 17th at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.
Again, Double VIP Points is only offered this weekend on The LEGO Movie 2 sets, so if you want to get them while also earning extra points, you only have today (Saturday the 9th) and tomorrow (Sunday the 10th). You can find all the sets at The LEGO Movie 2 section of the Online LEGO Shop.
Hope you had a chance to see The LEGO Movie 2 this weekend, and maybe even build some of the sets! You are welcome to share your thoughts and own reviews of the film and sets, but please, no spoilers, as a lot of LEGO fans still haven’t seen it. Otherwise, everything is awesome! 😉

I told myself I would use my VIP points on Apocalypseburg, but only if a double point promotion popped up as well. Bonus! A new Lego store opened near me last month. Guess where I’m headed there now. Life is good.
You got a LEGO store near you?! I’m jealous! I have to drive two hours to get to the nearest one. Enjoy building Apocalypseburg! 😀
Hmm, I already have a copy of Benny’s Space Squad, and probaby don’t need another set.
But otherwise, this looks like a decent bonus point drive again…
I was just reading today that the opening weekend for the movie wasn’t as good as expected in spite the positive reviews, so it’s possible we will see even more promotions to push sales. The weather in most of the US is terrible right now, which keeps people at home.
That’s not good. Another reason might be that the last Lego movie (the Ninjago Movie) didn’t do very well, and people are tired of Lego movies?
That’s a possibility as well. We will just have to see how the movie performs in later weeks. I personally haven’t seen it yet because I was busy with other stuff this weekend. So, I’m part of ruining their statistics. 😀
The novelty might have worn off, possibly. Ninjago is a rather niche franchise, outside Lego itself.
Well , where as my Lego has moved away from me ( a galaxy far far away, maybe) 😣. I did go to my neighborhood Barnes & Noble and bought six Lego 2 movie mystery bags. I got the Cowardly Lion, Tin Man, Rex dangervest, merman, apocalypse Abe and the kitty rockstar ( complete with go go boots) lol!😸. So, the mission begins .
Barnes & Noble is great. They often have the blind packs on a discount. And other Lego sets too.
Hm… I have to check that out. I haven’t been to a B&N for years since they closed most of their locations near me.
Wow! You didn’t even get any doubles! Good job! 😀
Wasn’t there a trick, that if you took all bags in a row in an unopened box, you’d have a high likelyhood of getting a complete set?
Yes, if the box is brand new, you have a fairly good chance, although not always. I have opened brand new boxes before and the minifigs next to each other were all the same, and a row did not provide a complete series. Also, at least in many places in the US, full boxes are no longer put out, but instead the minifigs are all mixed up in a shelf tray, or put up on hangers.
Wow. I almost missed out on this. Thanks for posting. Too bad they no longer post specials like this ahead of time.
Yeah, that was always helpful. I’m not sure why they changed their strategy. 🙁
It was just good luck and patience when you feel the bags. Lego thought they can fool us by putting some in double bags. (Some blind bags not all of them) . I mean do they want us to find The mini figures or what. Always feel for the accessories not the mini figure itself. That’s the trick.
Yep, I feel for the accessories as well. The small accessories are the easiest to feel for. Big, bulky pieces just confuse my fingers. 😀
