The LEGO social media team is currently looking for fans to show off their building skills in some specific categories. The idea is that images of LEGO fan creations will be featured on LEGO’s social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). Proper credit will be given to the original creator, of course. Below are the details. 🙂
If you follow LEGO on social medial, you know that they are very active posting various news items, upcoming events, featuring fan creations, answering questions, taking suggestions, etc. In other words, they are great at interacting with fans. Currently, they are looking for pictures of fan creations in the following categories. (I have included a couple of images of what a post on LEGO’s social media channel looks like.)
During the month of April, there is National Sibling Day on the 10th, National Pet Day on the 11th, World Art Day on the 15th, Earth Day on the 22nd, and National Superhero Day on the 28th (submissions for this last category can include DC or Marvel superheroes, but please note that will need to be approved by LEGO’s IP partners). Submissions to these events should be sent no later than April 5th.
During the month of May, there is Cinco de Mayo on the 5th, and Mother’s Day on the 12th. During the month of June, there is Best Friends Day on 8th, Father’s Day on the 16th, and First Day of Summer on the 21st. Submissions to these events should be sent no later than May 1st.
If you would like to send in your own creations for the possibility of getting featured on LEGO’s social media channels, you can link them in the comment section below (MOCPages, flickr, Facebook, Instagram, etc.), or you can also email them to me, and I will forward them to LEGO via the Ambassador Forum. Make sure you also include your name (first name and last initial or nickname are just fine), so they can credit the picture correctly.
What do you think? Do you have any pictures that would work great for these events? Or, are you inspired to build something now that you know LEGO is looking for pictures? Feel free to share in the comment section below! You are also welcome to post questions, if you have any. 😉
The example of the popup book looks so nice! I wish I could take pictures like that! Ha-ha!
We might try this! The kids love taking pictures, and they have some very creative ideas. At least I think so.
Sounds like a fun family project! Have fun! 🙂
Ohhh! This is fun! I think I can do this! Admin, can we submit pictures we took before? Or do they have to be new?
I don’t see why not. As long as the pictures are related to the holidays on the list, you can submit them. 🙂
I might do something too. Those two pictures give me some good ideas. I guess some non-Lego props are okay?
Yes, you can use non-LEGO props, but I would suggest keeping them non-descript or something you made yourself.
Okay, let’s see what we can do. I think my kids would enjoy making something.
Long time lurker here, been following the site since the Palace Cinema reveal article in late 2012. This sounds like a pretty nice opportunity LEGO is offering, I’m attaching my Flickr.

Thanks! Is there a specific build you would like to submit? Just let me know 🙂
If you are looking for a particular model, I have linked one that could work for national pet day.
Oh, that’s a great one! Thanks for sharing! I will forward it now. 🙂
Wow! You have been around for a long time! Lurkers are always welcome. 🙂
Thanks for sharing your gallery. You have lots of great builds! Is there a specific one you would like to me submit for this opportunity?
