March has been a tough month for the entire world, and we are still watching as the situation with the current virus is unfolding. As everyone is advised to practice social distancing and stay at home as much as possible, many LEGO fans are turning to their favorite hobby to take their mind of worrisome events. Official LEGO stores are closed, and it’s not advisable to visit local stores unless shopping for essentials, so LEGO is suggesting to make purchases at the Online LEGO Shop.
Fortunately, LEGO has been good at keeping sets in stock, and even those items that are temporarily on backorder ship out pretty fast. There are some freebies available this month, along with several new sets, so if you are yearning for something new, take a look around the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ FREE LEGO EASTER SETS: The two freebie offers that started last month are continuing until April 13th. You will get the #30550 LEGO Easter Bunny with purchases of $30 or more and the #40371 LEGO Easter Egg with purchases of $50 or more. These two are stackable offers, so if your order is $50 or more, you will get both items. This offer is valid on all purchases at the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ FREE LEGO TROLLS SET: April 10-26, you can get a free #30555 LEGO Trolls Poppy’s Carriage set with purchases of $35 or more. It’s a nice introduction to the new LEGO Trolls sets, if you haven’t tried them out yet. This offer is valid on all purchases at the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO IDEAS PIRATES OF BARRACUDA BAY: The recently announced #21322 LEGO Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay set is now available! This set is a loving homage to classic LEGO Pirates sets and the entire LEGO Pirate fan community. You can read the full press-release here, but to recap, the set features a small island with a repurposed shipwreck, where the legendary pirate Redbeard and his gang retired after their adventures. The shipwreck can be reconfigured into a fully functioning pirate ship, inspired by the Black Seas Barracuda, one of the most famous LEGO Pirate ships from 1989. An incredibly well designed and executed set that would delight all LEGO Pirate fans. You can find it at the LEGO Ideas section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO STAR WARS HELMETS COMING SOON: The three LEGO Star Wars Helmets we talked about previously (see links at the end of this post) are going to be available on April 19th. The #75274 LEGO Star Wars TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet, #75276 LEGO Star Wars Stormtrooper Helmet, and #75277 LEGO Star Wars Boba Fett Helmet are already listed at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO FAST & FURIOUS DODGE CHARGER AVAILABLE: The #42111 LEGO Technic Dom’s Dodge Charger from Fast & Furious that was announced a couple of days ago is already available for pre-order and will ship on April 27th. For more details, visit the LEGO Technic section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO MINIONS SETS COMING SOON: The new LEGO Minions collection will be available on April 27th. Most of the sets are in the LEGO 4+ range to accommodate younger kids, but they can be interesting to adult collectors as well. Sets include the #75546 LEGO Minions in Gru’s Lab, the #75547 LEGO Minions Pilot in Training, the #75549 LEGO Minions Unstoppable Bike Chase, the #75550 LEGO Minions Kung Fu Battle, and the #75551 LEGO Brick-Built Minions and Their Lair. You can find them at the LEGO Minions section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO FRIENDS PLAY CUBES SERIES 2 AVAILABLE: When we reviewed the LEGO Friends Play Cubes (see links at the end of this post), we mentioned that the instructions showed that there will be a second series coming in the near future. That second series is now available. Just like in the first series, there are five sets, one for each of the friends; Andrea, Stephanie, Olivia, Mia, and Emma. Each set contains a small scene, accessories, and a surprise pet. Instead of the glitter-trans-purple of the previous series, here the lids of the boxes are glitter-trans-pink. The boxes can be used to quarantine your mini-dolls, or as storage containers, or for sorting parts, or to make a nice display case when connected together. I love these little sets and highly recommend them. They are available at the LEGO Friends section of the Online LEGO Shop.
And that rounds up all the new LEGO sets and promotions we know about at this point. Please note that it’s possible that LEGO will throw in some extra promotions, just like they have done with the special Double VIP Points period last month. The virus situation is hard on everyone, and businesses are trying to adapt to changes as well as the needs of their customers. Make sure you also check the clearance section of the Online LEGO Shop where you can find older sets 20%-50% off.
What do you think? How do you like the new LEGO sets and promotions this month? Are you planning to get anything? What projects are you working on while trying to stay healthy? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!

The pirate ship is a must for me. Amazing set!
The ship for me too. Fantastic set!
All I care for is the pirate ship. It looks sensational! I love that it’s modular!
PIRATESHIP! PIRATESHIP! PIRATESHIP! Did I do that right? And yes, the pirate ship is awesome!
I know everyone likes Barracuda Bay, but I find the minions sets interesting too. The large fig has like a whole interior opened from the back side!
I would love to get the pirate ship set but I’ll wait because I ordered the Bookshop Creator set. It’s coming soon in the next few days possibly and it looks like I’ll end up getting both Easter gifts. That would be great! I figured everybody wants to get the pirate ship now and it’s going to be backordered or out of stock for a while. So I’ll get in a few months later where it won’t be in such high demand right now and it just came out.
Ha! More Friends boxes! I have been using them for storage, as admin suggested. They work great for small parts! I wonder how lego is doing financially with the current crisis.
I saw a post on facebook that you can use the dots bracelets as a dog colorful dog collar. I thought that was brilliant! Probably not strong enough to attach a leash, but it’s cute.
Me and my brother lego trooper used to have so much fun checking this site a bazillion times a day. I like coming back to check in here every once in a while, awesome to see you’re still at it admin
Always nice to have you, Strider! Are you guys doing okay during these weird times? Feel free to stop by at any time just to chat. 🙂
