LEGO Ideas Contest – Head Back to Hogwarts

It’s been a while since we have seen a LEGO Ideas contest, but now the LEGO Ideas team is back, challenging the fan community with another fun building contest! The new school year is here, and it’s time to head back to Hogwarts. The question is, what is your favorite return-through-the-school-gates scene from Harry Potter? Harry’s first year? Flying back in Ron’s dad’s car? Share your favorite scene and enter the contest for a chance to win amazing prizes! Details below.

The LEGO Harry Potter contest will consist of three phases: 1.) Submission Phase – Build and submit your entry before October 8th, 2020 at 6:00 a.m. EST. 2.) Judging Phase – The LEGO Ideas judges review the entries and choose the winners by October 20th, 2020. 3.) Winners Announcement – The LEGO Ideas team will share the grand prize winner and two runner up winners on LEGO Ideas no later than October 27th, 2020.

If you would like to enter this contest, here are steps to follow: 1.) Build your submission using LEGO bricks or a digital building tool like LEGO Digital Designer. 2.) Take up to five photos of your creation and submit them to the contest. Make sure to show off all angles and any features or functions of your creation. 3.) Add a title and short description. 4.) Upload your entry to the contest using the blue Submit Your Entry button on this page.

If you have participated in any previous LEGO Ideas contests, the rules are the same. Such as you must be the original creator of all creative work you submit (the model, images, photographs, description text, etc.) and you must have the exclusive right to submit your model to this LEGO Ideas contest. You may not submit a model or any other content made by, or on behalf of, someone else. Entries must be new creations and not previously posted online or submitted to any other contest. You are allowed to use any official LEGO element (LEGO System, LEGO DUPLO, LEGO Technic/Constraction) in your entry. The LEGO elements must be genuine (not cut, glued, or otherwise modified).  Entries should not contain copies or references to any other existing third-party work or creation or infringements of any third-party intellectual property right. The only intellectual property that your creation may be linked to for this contest is Harry Potter. And you must be at least 13 years of age to participate and enter. You can read all the rules and fine print on the contest entry page.

A panel of judges consisting of members of the LEGO Harry Potter team, will choose a grand prize winner and two runner up winners based on overall coolness and originality, having the most inspired details, relevance to the contest theme, and the best use of LEGO elements.

Winners will be contacted on the email address associated with their LEGO ID account after October 8th, 2020. Winners will be announced on LEGO Ideas when all winners have returned the signed Winner’s Certification Documents. A winner who does not return their Winner’s Certification Document within one week (5 days) of receiving it will be disqualified, and a new winner will be selected.

I was wondering what was going on with the contests. I’m glad they are back. I don’t always participate, but I love seeing the entries. Many of them are really good and I sometimes use the ideas for my own mocs.
