Recently, LEGO released a short clip from Season 14 of the LEGO Ninjago TV show subtitled “The Island”, which gives us more details about the upcoming episodes. (If you would like to watch earlier trailers for the season, they are available via the links at the end of this post.)
The story goes like this. An expedition led by Misako, Master Wu, and Clutch Powers has gone missing while exploring an uncharted island which has never been mapped due to strange never-ending electrical storms. The ninja track down the only survivor, Timothy “Twitchy Tim” Batterson, and convince him to be their guide. Tim journeyed to the island years ago but was still scared to go due to being struck by lightning twelve times at the Island. Reluctantly, he agrees to help.
Another interesting bit of new information is that this season only has four eleven-minute episodes; Uncharted, The Keepers of the Amulet, The gift of Jay, and The Tooth of Wojira. Tommy Andreasen, Senior Creative Manager at LEGO and co-creator of the LEGO Ninjago TV show, stated that it was fun making a small, contained Ninjago story, and that The Island was inspired by the setting of King Kong films, the structure of Scooby-Doo, and the story idea of The Monster of the Misty Lake (from the Dutch comic series, Douwe Dabbert). A scene from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest was also likely an inspiration.
Interestingly, even though Twitchy Tim plays such a major role in the story, there is no minifig version of him in any of the recently released Season 14 sets, but perhaps he will appear in a later release. The four currently available sets from Season 14 are as follows: the #71745 LEGO Ninjago Lloyd’s Jungle Chopper Bike, the #71746 LEGO Ninjago Jungle Dragon, the #71747 LEGO Ninjago Keepers’ Village, and the #71748 Catamaran Sea Battle. They are fantastic sets with interesting colors, minifigs, and accessories. You can find them all at the LEGO Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.
What do you think? How do you like this short clip from Season 14? And what do you think of the new LEGO Ninjago sets and characters? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!

So are they releasing the season in bits and pieces like this instead of airing it? 😀
No kidding, when is it going to air?
It already aired in Canada, but I’m not sure about the U.S. and other places.
Hey, I would be happy to watch them in whatever way! 😀
And here is another curious question? Why are some new ninjago characters become mini figures and some new ninjago characters do not? ( yes, Thita( admin) I know you have the same question I have). I mean, how many years did it take for us to get a clutch powers mini figure. Or one more important question. when we do get one of the new ninjago mini figures it’s in an expensive set?
Yeah, good question! Sometimes it’s pretty obvious how and why they distribute minifigs the way they do, other times it’s not so clear. Next time I talk with a LEGO designer who works on sets with minifigs, I’m going to ask that question. 🙂
I was looking at the sets at Walmart yesterday, and I think the minifigs are super cool. But I’m surprised Tim is not included. He seems to be an important character and it shouldn’t have been hard to make him (no special parts, etc.)
I’m so looking forward to this, Please make it available on youtube.
