In 2024, LEGO City brings back two reoccurring sub-themes; LEGO City Fire and LEGO City Police. Another extensive LEGO City sub-theme this year is LEGO City Space. We talked about the LEGO City Fire and LEGO City Space sets already (see links at the end of this post), and today, we will take a look at the LEGO City Police sets.
This year, we got four new LEGO City Police sets. The smallest is the #60415 LEGO City Police Car and Muscle Car Chase with two vehicles and two minifigs for $19.99. It’s the standard cop-chasing-diamond-thief setup that appeared in LEGO City many times, but the muscle car is an especially excellent upgrade with a flashy color-scheme. The set is available at the LEGO City section of the Online LEGO Shop.
A bit larger action-oriented set is the #60417 LEGO City Police Speedboat and Crooks’ Hideout for $34.99. It features a police patrol boat and a crooks’ hideout hidden among old cargo containers at the city docks. I really like the colors in this set. This would be a great addition to a city diorama near the docks adding a bit of fun and action. Also, note the LEGO bulldog – a still very rare piece that only appeared in two other sets to date. Available at the LEGO City section of the Online LEGO Shop.
The #60418 LEGO City Police Mobile Crime Lab Truck for $54.99. This is a popular setup in LEGO City Police that we have seen a number of times in the past. A truck that opens to reveal a full crime scene lab. It features workstations, a map, CCTV screens, a microscope, a coffee machine, and a jail cell. The set also includes a forensic scene and the crooks’ quad bike, as well as two police officers, two crooks, and a scientist. Those new fence pieces are going to be useful for many different applications. In the video-review below, JANGBRiCKS will show you the set in detail. And if you’re interested, you can find it at the LEGO City section of the Online LEGO Shop.
The big set for the year is the #60419 LEGO City Police Prison Island for $99.99. It is home to some of the city’s most notorious crooks with plans to escape. This cliffside prison features a control room, an officers’ break room, an entrance hall, a courtyard with a secret escape hatch, a kennel room, a cell with beds, and an escape tunnel that leads to an abandoned mine, plus a prisoner’s laundry room with jailbreak tools. Other details include a helipad and a cliff face with a loose rock for an explosive exit. A helicopter, police boat, dinghy, three officers and four prisoners, plus a police dog and a shark are also included. The video-review below will show you all the different play-features and functions, and for even more details, visit the LEGO City section of the Online LEGO Shop.

I had the previous police island set. Played with it forever. Even added extra towers and hiding places. What a cool set!
I like the little muscle car. The colors are so outrageous. 😀
The fact that some of this can just be regular “city” fodder if you ignore the criminal theme, is pretty cool.
I agree. Some really good sets here. I already have enough police and fire, but I want the muscle car and the those panels from the shipping containers.
I like the criminals’ stylish sense in fashion and vehicles, particularly that pink pompadour.
Otherwise, the Police theme is not for me, but I guess kids like it.
