We already discussed many of the recently released and upcoming LEGO sets, but there is one set that LEGO just recently added to the Online LEGO Shop; the #10331 LEGO Icons Kingfisher Bird. Kingfishers are some of my favorite birds, so I’m really excited about this set. Below are the details.
The #10331 LEGO Icons Kingfisher Bird model depicts the bird, known for its striking plumage and remarkable hunting abilities, emerging from the water with a fish catch. The water setting includes buildable reeds and doubles as a display stand. Position the bird’s head and claws to create your favorite pose before placing it on display for all to enjoy.
The model kingfisher comes with a poseable head and claws, and the water setting with buildable reeds doubles as a display stand. This 834-piece model measures over 8 in. (21 cm) high, 12 in. (31 cm) wide and 6.5 in. (17 cm) deep, and will be available starting February 1st for $49.99. For more information, visit the LEGO Icons section of the Online LEGO Shop.
The #21301 LEGO Ideas Birds set released in 2015 was a favorite of many LEGO fans and also brought bird lovers to the hobby. In fact, it even inspired a book with instructions for more LEGO bird designs, titled Birds from Bricks: Amazing LEGO Designs That Take Flight with 15 Step-by-Step Projects by Thomas Poulsom (link will take you to the listing on Amazon). Even though there is only one bird in the latest set, it’s still nice to see that LEGO continues to release models for bird lovers.
There are in fact several other LEGO sets currently available featuring birds. The #31211 LEGO Macaw Parrots for $59.99, the cute #40639 LEGO Bird Nest for $12.99, the LEGO Exotic Parrot in two different colorations, and the adorable #31143 LEGO Birdhouse with two other alternate builds. You can find them all at the Online LEGO Shop.

I loved original bird set. I even turned see family members into Lego with it. I would have liked another 3 birds in one set deal. But this one is nice too.
They got the big head and short tail right. I also love kingfishers. 😊
What’s that piece used for the wings? The curved ones? They liiks perfect for This!
I think it was a piece originally created for leaves and foliage.
It appears to be this piece.

It looks good from the back, but a little blocky from the front. Or maybe that’s just the angle.
Nobody is mentioning the cat tails and the water. They are so well done! I would love to see more sets like this with natural elements.
