The LEGO Ideas team is running a new challenge in collaboration with the LEGO House. The LEGO House is yet again looking for fantastic builds that will be displayed at the world-famous house in Billund, Denmark. This year, there are three different categories to choose from.
- The Secret Life Of…: What happens below decks, under the streets, inside the machine…. let your creativity run free and show a side of the world we don’t normally see.
- Flora and Fauna: Show the beauty of nature all the plants, flowers, and creatures that inhabit our natural world.
- Mashup Madness: Space meets pirates, or medieval meets underwater, or dinosaurs meets music and dance…. or any other crazy creative combo your mind can put together.
The aim is to have 25 winners across all three categories, who will each get a #21037 LEGO House set as well as the opportunity to have their model exhibited at the LEGO House for a year, including a personalized LEGO brick with name and country of the builder to accompany the model. Furthermore, the winners may be offered the opportunity to extend the exhibition of their model for one additional year in LEGOLAND, Billund. (All costs for shipping the model are to be provided by the LEGO Group.)
The challenge consists of 4 phases: 1.) Submission Phase – Build and submit your entry before August 20th, 2024 at 6:00 a.m. EST. 2.) Judging Phase – The judges review the entries and choose the Fan Vote selections by September 4th, 2024. 3.) Fan Vote – The judges’ selections will go to a fan vote on September 5th, 2024, and will run until September 12th, 2024. 4.) Winners Announcement – Three grand prize winners and three runner-up winners (one for each category) are announced no later than September 23rd, 2024.
Three grand prize winners (one per category) will receive the following: #21037 LEGO House, #40504 LEGO House Minifigure Tribute, #40505 LEGO House Building Systems, #21343 LEGO Ideas Viking Village, #21349 LEGO Ideas Tuxedo Cat, and #21345 LEGO Ideas Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera.
Three runner-up winners (one per category) will receive the following: #21037 LEGO House, #40504 LEGO House Minifigure Tribute, and #21345 LEGO Ideas Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera.
All other LEGO House selections (entries that make the fan vote) will receive the following: #21037 LEGO House.
