Trade In Your LEGO Bricks for LEGO e-Gift Cards!

Got a LEGO stash gathering dust? For a limited time, the LEGO Brick Take Back program turns your spare bricks into rewards. Trade in your pre-loved bricks and score a LEGO e-Gift Card in the process!

According to the website, this new program is set up to keep as many bricks in play as possible – and this is a test run to help figure out the best way to do it. It is being operated for and on behalf of the LEGO Group by Pentatonic Ltd.

You can read how the program works on the website itself, but in short, they are offering $6/pound for LEGO bricks and elements that are fully disassembled and in good condition. They also accept minifigures and mini-dolls (no need to disassemble), and baseplates. They do not accept LEGO DUPLO bricks or elements, non-LEGO bricks, LEGO sets that are fully or partially built, batteries or electronic components, storage containers, packaging, or building instructions.

After you send off your LEGO bricks with the provided shipping label, and once they are approved by the receiving team, they will email you a LEGO e-Gift Card to spend on anything at the main LEGO website.

If you’re interested, check out LEGOBrickTakeback.com. You will need to register at the site as it’s separate from the main LEGO website. Also, please note that it appears that this service is currently only available in the U.S. and Germany.

What do you think? How do you like the idea of this new program? Would you use it yourself? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!

I’ve attempted to sign up but I’ve yet to receive an email to confirm my account. I’ve double-checked my spelling and sent the requested a couple of times to confirm the account and nothing yet. I’m guessing their e-mail server is having some issues?

Just occurred to me to check my “junk email” folder. 😛 😀

Same thing happened to me. This is interesting.

I meant to say it’s an interesting service. Not that the lack of email was interesting. Lol. 😄

Isn’t the price they are offering is kinda low? I understand that this is a test run, but I thought the standard price for Lego on sites like ebay is around $10/pound.

I suspect Lego is donating these, not just reselling them, hence the low price.

I could see some parents sending in their kid’s old Lego. I wonder how they are going to bring them back in circulation though. Are these pieces going to be donated? Or how are they going to be reused?
