For many families across the world, the holidays are a magical time filled with joy and celebration, but for some families, the festive period can be challenging. The LEGO Group’s annual Build to Give initiative kicks off today. This initiative encourages everyone to help share the superpower of play with children who need it most by building a heart out of LEGO bricks and sharing it with the hashtag #BuildToGive.
It’s easy to get involved and share some joy and positivity; everyone simply needs to build a heart. It can be big, small, weird, or wonderful – there’s no right or wrong way to build a heart, just use your imagination!
For every heart built in LEGO stores around the world or shared on social media or the LEGO Play app using #BuildToGive before December 31, the LEGO Group will donate a LEGO set to a child in need of play.
This holiday season, the initiative will gift the superpower of play to children in hospitals, children’s homes, and vulnerable communities.
The sets are distributed through the LEGO Group’s network of local charity partners worldwide, and the campaign has reached more than 9.1 million children since 2017.
Select LEGO Stores around the world will be hosting the annual Build to Give activity throughout November. Check LEGO.com/Stores for information on local store Build to Give dates.
In connection with the #BuildtoGive 2024 Holiday activation, the LEGO Group will donate one LEGO set to charity for every LEGO heart that is built with LEGO bricks and shared on social media with #BuildtoGive.
Children under the age of 16 must obtain their parent’s permission to post on social media. Total annual donation not to exceed 1,500,000 LEGO sets with a total value of 15,000,000 USD.

I appreciate this initiative, but I’m disappointed they’re doing a heart again. They should do something else next time.
I participated last year. Will do it again.
Ha! I see some pretty clever designs there like the classic space and technic hearts.
