The LEGO Ideas team is running a summer holiday-themed contest. Even though it’s kind of late in the season, it’s still fun and something you might want to participate in. Below are the details.
Whether you’re going on a vacation this year or just dreaming of one, in the LEGO Ideas Build Your Perfect Vacation challenge, the LEGO Ideas team wants you to showcase what your ultimate summer getaway would be in LEGO form. When the sun is shining and the weather is sweet, anything feels possible. The LEGO Ideas team is also sharing some inspiration to get you started.
A vacation means something a little different to everyone. So, whether you love spending your summer holidays surfing the waves at the coast, seeking thrills with epic hikes, or getting lost in foreign towns and cities, this challenge is all about your vision of the perfect break. That means you’re totally in control! There’s no one set category to this challenge. It could be a trip you’ve been on before, or one you’ve always dreamed of. Hey, you could even depict your perfect at-home staycation, complete with a BBQ and kiddie pool! The sky’s the limit.
SEAS THE DAY – From the feel of the sand between your toes to the calming sounds of ocean waves, there’s nothing quite like a beach holiday to reset and refresh. Maybe you’ll build the perfect sunbathing setup, a stellar sandcastle, or a snorkeling adventure. Your entry can be above ground, below water, or even a view of you parasailing in the sky.
HAPPY CAMPERS – Crackling campfires, twinkling stars, and a s’more or two – if your preferred summer holiday is getting outdoors and being at one with nature, you could showcase your ultimate tent set up, complete with songs around the fire and a wild visitor or two, or maybe you want to depict a treehouse retreat or river-based adventure. Just remember to pack your bear spray!
TAKE A HIKE! – Do you love to seek thrills and embrace nature with epic hikes on your summer breaks? Then this idea might really pique your interest! Why not try creating an extraordinary mountain scene with happy hikers along a pass? You could recreate one of your favorite vistas from a past hike, or a journey you’d love to make in the future.
WALK ON THE WILD SIDE – If you’ve got a passion for animals, your dream holiday situation might just be on the back of a jeep, taking in the magnificent wild beasts that roam the earth. Or you could build a trip to the zoo or wildlife sanctuary from a past holiday. Bring on the good times and tan lines!
If you want to participate in this contest, submit your build by September 2nd, 2025, at 6:00 AM EST. LEGO Ideas members can vote 3 times for their 3 favorite builds between September 4th and September 15th. The votes will determine 10 finalists to go into the expert review. Experts will review the 10 finalists from the fan vote and pick 1 grand prize selection.
If your entry is the grand prize selection of this challenge, you’ll receive the following: #10350 LEGO Icons Tudor Corner, #21353 LEGO Icons Botanical Garden, #21358 LEGO Ideas Minifigure Vending Machine, #21357 LEGO Ideas Disney Pixar Luxo Jr. The remaining builds selected to participate in the fan vote will receive the following: #21358 LEGO Ideas Minifigure Vending Machine, #21357 LEGO Ideas Disney Pixar Luxo Jr.
Remember, this challenge doesn’t have to be about somewhere you’ve been, or somewhere you will ever actually go – your idealistic holiday could well be to the moon! It’s about letting your creativity run wild and showing off your dream vacation scene.
