LEGO Speed Champions Back to the Future Coming!

Here is an exciting piece of news for you! Today, the LEGO Group reveals a very different LEGO Speed Champions set, the #77256 LEGO Speed Champions Time Machine from Back to the Future! Below is the description as well as some pictures of the upcoming set.

The #77256 LEGO Speed Champions Time Machine from Back to the Future model car kit lets you build, display, and recreate action from the iconic movie franchise.

This brick-built car includes many of the famous details from the model seen in the popular movies. Build this iconic car with a lightning rod and California number plate from the first movie before rebuilding it into its flying version from the second movie with Mr. Fusion, an orange number plate, and sideways wheels.

Both versions have rear air vents, a cockpit, the flux capacitor, and time calculator. For added play value, the set also comes with 2 minifigure characters from the movies: Doc Brown and Marty McFly to place inside the cockpit.

A great gift for kids and nostalgic adults, they can build each playset with confidence using the LEGO Builder app, which lets them zoom, rotate in 3D, and track progress with easy-to-follow digital instructions. Set contains 357 pieces. Price: 27.99 USD / 27.99 EUR / 22.99 GBP

It’s interesting to note that the #10300 LEGO Icons Back to the Future Time Machine that was first released in 2022 is still available at the Online LEGO Shop. This is a larger version of the Time Machine, measuring over 4.5 in. (12 cm) high, 14 in. (35 cm) long, and 7.5 in. (19 cm) wide. The piece-count is 1,872, and the price is $199.99. The model measures over 4.5 in. (12 cm) high, 14 in. (35 cm) long, and 7.5 in. (19 cm) wide. If you want to check it out, you can find it at the LEGO Icons section of the Online LEGO Shop.

The LEGO Speed Champions Time Machine is smaller, more play-friendly, and sized for minifigures, but still packed with lots of authentic details. And of course, the price is a lot more friendly as well. I think it is going to do very well with both kids, kids-at-heart, and collectors. It will be available starting in January of next year at the LEGO Speed Champions section of the Online LEGO Shop.

I have the an older set of the back to future time machine. Still in it’s box unopened. I don’t remember what year the set came out, but, I remember you can change the look of the Delorean style from each movie. ( except for the train time machine). Maybe that can be the next set that Lego can create. 🤔

I really like this one. I prefer the smaller, minifig size cars over the display sets. And it’s such a great upgrade from the Ideas version
