The LEGO Batman Movie new trailer & sets!

A couple of days ago Warner Brothers released the latest trailer for The LEGO Batman Movie, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive from Batman fans and LEGO fans alike. The film is scheduled for release on February 10th 2017, and so far this is the fourth trailer related to the movie (see links to previous trailers at the end of this post). In addition, a couple of more of the upcoming sets were also revealed, so there is a lot of excitement about those as well. So let’s talk about all this awesomeness. 🙂

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made The LEGO Movie a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up. Watch below.

As you can see, this is going to be a hilarious film that both adults and kids can enjoy, and many people are already saying it might be the best – or at least one of the best – Batman movies ever made. It certainly looks like a good candidate! The animation, the voice actors, the story, the humor, and all those Batvehicles and Batcostumes are just perfect! Unfortunately there are still a few more months before we can see the movie, but in the meantime we can take a look at the LEGO sets upcoming LEGO sets.

There is going to be a whole collection of sets based on The LEGO Batman Movie, just like we have previously seen with The LEGO Movie. So far LEGO revealed pictures of six of the new sets. We have discussed some of them already, but for the sake of completeness, I’m going to list all of them here again, along with some of the newly announced sets.

#70900 LEGO BATMAN MOVIE – THE JOKER BALLOON ESCAPE: This is a small set with Batman and The Joker, who got an awesome balloon-operated contraption on his back. Batman wears the new yellow utility-belt, which many LEGO fans are looking forward to. Then there is a dangerous looking storage-tank with a timer, dynamite, some controls, and those sweet new macaroni-bricks to create the red pipes. I’m already very fond on this small set, and the price is excellent. 124 pieces. Price: $14.99

Watch LEGO Ninjago: Day of the Departed

During the Halloween weekend Cartoon Network aired the one-time TV special, LEGO Ninjago: Day of the Departed. This more than 40 minutes long special takes place after LEGO Ninjago Season Six: Skybound. If you missed the special on Cartoon Network, you can watch it below. So grab your popcorn, settle in your comfest chair, and enjoy the show! 🙂

LEGO Ninjago Day of the Departed Poster

LEGO Ninjago: Day of the Departed follows the ninja as they commemorate their ancestors and fallen friends on a sacred holiday. They visit the Ninjago Museum of History to buy some lanterns for the occasion, and learn about the museum’s new exhibit, the Hall of Villainy. The exhibit contains life-size mannequins of the major villains fought by the Ninja over the years, including Samukai, Pythor, Kozu, Cryptor, Chen and Morro. The ninja divide for their own personal memorials: Lloyd and Misako commemorate Garmadon at the Corridor of Elders, where he made his sacrifice to defeat Chen’s army; Kai and Nya remember their mother and father at their blacksmith shop; Zane remembers his father in Birchwood Forest, where a giant ice statue of him stands; Jay goes to spend time with his mom and dad at their junkyard; and Wu goes to his old monastery to remember his father. In the meantime, Cole sets off to settle his debt with Yang, and everything turns to the unexpected…

This was an awesome LEGO Ninjago special, isn’t it? In the early days of the LEGO Ninjago series a new episode aired each week at the same time, which caused a lot of anticipation and excitement. Unfortunately, in following years the episodes got so widely spread out with such unpredictable release dates, that even dedicated Ninjago fans started missing out on episodes, and even giving up on following the series. So from this perspective I think it was good to switch over to one long special, rather than having another chopped up season. The next LEGO Ninjago title is called LEGO Ninjago: Hands of Time. At this point it’s not clear if this is going to be another one-time TV special or a full season. But we can be fairly certain that the saga will continue in some form or another until the release of The LEGO Ninjago Movie scheduled for September 22nd 2017. We will just have to wait and see. In the meantime you can also check out the newly released LEGO Ninjago sets at the Online LEGO Shop.
