I can’t wait for the release of The LEGO Movie on DVD, so I was happy to see that it is now available on Amazon for pre-order. I know I will re-play it many times to catch all the awesome details, and re-watch the part where Benny finally has a chance to build his SPACESHIP! 🙂

The LEGO Movie DVD

There are two versions of The LEGO Movie DVD listed on Amazon. The first one is The LEGO Movie DVD + UltraViolet Combo Pack for just about $15. I had no idea what UltraViolet is, so did a bit of research on that. Apparently with this combo-pack you get a regular DVD version of The LEGO Movie, and a digital edition (that’s the UltraViolet part) which is stored online and you can access from various devices. You can pre-order this version of The LEGO Movie DVD here: Pre-Order on Amazon

The LEGO Movie Everything Is Awesome Combo Pack

Then there is the collectors’ edition of The LEGO Movie, or what is officially called The LEGO Movie: Everything is Awesome Edition (love that title!). It includes the following for $40: Blu-Ray, DVD, UltraViolet Digital HD, and Bonus 3D versions of the movie, plus a collectible Emmet photo, and a special young Vitruvius minifigure (before he went blind). The LEGO Movie DVD Young Vitruvius

I’m not sure if it is worth to get the collectors’ edition of The LEGO Movie… it includes a lot of stuff I will probably never use, however the Vitruvius minifigure is hard to pass up; he is only included with this package and looks great. What do you think? Which version would you get?

As far as when The LEGO Movie DVD will be actually available, I haven’t found any official statement at this point. Some people state it should be in May and others say it will be in August. I hope it is the earlier date, however in some countries the movie is not even available in theatres until mid-April, so the later date for the DVD makes more sense. I’m sure we will know more fairly soon…

Let me know what you think and which version would you get. I’m leaning towards just getting the simple DVD edition and maybe purchasing Vitruvius online through a re-seller. Is that a mistake? What would you do? Feel free to share in the comment section below! 😉

As you probably know already LEGO Friends has become a huge hit, and it looks like the line is here to stay for the long-term for the pleasure of little girls and adult LEGO fans alike. The LEGO Friends sets are very sweet and offer a great range of interesting colors, cute animals and lots of new minifigure accessories, even for those who are not into LEGO Friends. I personally really like the mini-dolls too and collect them, however I also understand the complaint of those who would have preferred to have regular LEGO minifigures to fit into the rest of the LEGO system.

Although LEGO Friends mini-dolls are just a tad taller than regular LEGO minifigures and their hair-pieces, other head-gear and accessories are interchangeable with regular LEGO minifigs, their proportions are totally different and their body-parts cannot be mixed and matched with regular LEGO minifigs.

Would it be possible to keep the girly cuteness of the LEGO Friends mini-dolls and mix it with the just as cute – but in a different way – regular LEGO minifigs? Well, the only way to find out is to try! And this is exactly what LEGO fan Dorayakiameri from Taiwan has done. Check out this cartoon introducing the transformed LEGO Friends characters.

Dorayakiameri took the time to minifigure-ize all of the LEGO Friends main characters using decals: Stephanie, Emma, Andrea, Mia and Olivia, and even Ms. Stevens. Aren’t they adorable? 🙄
