Today I would like to introduce you to another LEGO customizer we haven’t talked about before, EclipseGRAFX.com. EclipseGRAFX, also known as EclipseBricks, specializes in custom LEGO minifigures, minifigure parts and accessories. Their current focus is custom printed LEGO minifigures and elements, but they also carry fully customized minifigures equipped with accessories from other customizers like BrickArms, BrickWarriors, Clone Army Customs, etc. – so you get the best of the best! 🙂

I have been following EclipseGRAFX products for quite some time now, but it was only recently I decided to make a purchase. The custom printed LEGO minifigure that got me to place my first order is the Na’vi pictured below, inspired by the movie Avatar. Since I’m a big fan of the movie, and because the printing looked so impressive I just had to have one of these little guys. The minifigure is named Ateyo, a character only mentioned briefly in the movie as the father of Tsu’tey, the young Na’vi warrior who didn’t get along with Jake, but then became friends, and later died in a valiant attack on the human intruders. For me though, he is just an awesome Na’vi, and I always wanted a Na’vi minifigure! 😀

I have to say that the printing on this minifigure is awesome! Just to clarify; these are not decals, stickers or paint. This is premium pad-printing with brilliant colors, durable enough for play. The torso of this custom LEGO minifig is fully printed front, back, and on both arms. His legs and hips are printed both front and back. His head is also printed with a dual sided face; one neutral, the other angry. A beautiful minifigure indeed! By the way I customized mine using the pointy-eared Orc hairpiece from the LEGO Lord of the Rings sets. See below. Isn’t he awesome? 😎

EclipseGRAFX offers other custom printed LEGO minifigs with incredible quality. Many are military related, but there are also some very unique ones from video-games, comics, and fantasy themes. Please note that most of these are very limited quantity, although you can always place a custom order by asking nicely. 😉

Fully custom printed LEGO minifigures are not cheap, (usually $15-$20 each) however you can still enjoy the quality printing and artwork of EclipseGRAFX by just getting printed minifigure parts: minifigure heads, legs, torsos are available in a great variety and with many color options.

Some of my most favorite custom LEGO products from EclipseGRAFX are these super cute and realistic LEGO soda-cans, cups of coffee with frothy goodness, and chocolate-bars! I don’t know if these would be healthy for your minifigs though – they are already a bit chubby. 🙄

Custom LEGO Accessories by EclipseGRAFX

EclipseGRAFX has also been expanding into printing on other LEGO elements, like tiles and window-screens. These can add great detail to your LEGO creations. Other new products are added all the time.

EclipseGRAFX is run by Victor Fernandez from New York.  His website where you can see all of his products is EclipseGRAFX.com. He also goes to LEGO conventions, if you would like to meet him personally. I also recommend checking out his Flickr Gallery. Victor is an incredible LEGO customizer and his hand-painted and customized minifigs are a work of art!

Here is a video showing off some of EclipseGRAFX custom LEGO products at their YouTube Channel. You can see more videos as well from various LEGO conventions where they participated.

To summarize, I would highly recommend EclipseGRAFX’s custom LEGO minifigures and accessories. I’m very happy with all of the products I bought, and I’m also looking forward to more. Also, remember that making a purchase from small LEGO customizers like EclipseGRAFX supports artists with real talent, craftsmanship and work-values. Although these products are more expensive then the ones made en-masse in places like China, in this case you are definitely getting what you pay for. You get incredible products and you are also supporting artists and craftsman who offer real quality, value and durability. Enjoy! 😉

Build LEGO Iron Man’s Hall of Armor!

In the May-June Issue of the LEGO Club Magazine there is this awesome picture of Tony Stark’s Laboratory and the Hall of Armor build from LEGO. The coolest part is that the step-by-step building instructions are shared and downloadable, so you can build your own! 🙂

LEGO Iron Man Hall of Armor

Here is the description from the LEGO Club Magazine: Inside his secret lab in his Malibu Mansion, Tony Stark builds his amazing suits of Iron Man armor, along with other scientific wonders. LEGO Master Builder Mark Roe built his own version of the armored Malibu Mansion’s laboratory that you can add to your LEGO Iron Man adventures! You can build this lab using pieces from your LEGO collection, and then add minifigures from your LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets.

Build LEGO Iron Man's Laboratory

In my opinion this LEGO Iron Man set is just awesome! It is not that big (built on a 16×32 stud LEGO baseplate), the LEGO pieces used are pretty common, and this is a great way to showcase your LEGO Iron Man minifigure collection. You can download the PDF instruction directly from the LEGO Club website by using the Club Code: STARK, or you can also download it here: DOWNLOAD

For currently available LEGO Iron Man sets you check out the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets at the Online LEGO Shop. The #76006 LEGO Super Heroes Iron Man Sea Port Battle is an especially nice set with two Iron Man suits for only $20 to start building your Hall of Armor collection.
