LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles part 3

The third episode of LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles is out! We first discussed the Yoda Chronicles back in December (see: LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles), then there were two very short episodes on the planet Umbara: LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles part 1, and LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles part 2. And now we are up to part 3! 😀

LEGO Star Wars Yoda Chronicles

The previous two LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles episodes have been quite disappointing; the videos are very short (about a minute), there is no voice-over, and the stories are lame – which is very unusual for LEGO videos, as they tend to be funny and witty. At least the animation looks fine. Many LEGO fans even say that these don’t look like anything more than an extended advertisement for recently released LEGO Star Wars sets. 😕

The interesting aspect of the thirds episode of the LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles is that it is in fact an entirely new chapter. So yes, the previous chapter on the planet Umbara was only two one-minute parts. I guess Yoda was documenting these events in shorthand…

Anyhow, you can watch the third episode below to form your own opinion. This third episode is called LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles – Episode 2 Part 1 Rancor Pit. Enjoy! 😛

So what do you think of the third episode of the LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles? I liked this episode a little better then the previous two, although it is still far from the quality of other LEGO videos. What are your thoughts? Feel free to share them in the comment section below. 😉

LEGO Legends of Chima… reloaded

Some of my favorite LEGO creations are the ones that use LEGO pieces that most people would consider awkward or useless, and make something wonderful out of it. Some recent LEGO elements that fall into this category are from the new LEGO Legends of Chima theme. Specifically the Speedorz game bike parts. They are nicely made and printed, but they are also criticized for being too specialized and not being good for much else then their original purpose… not a good thing for a construction-toy element.

LEGO Legends of Chima Speedor Bikes

Enter LEGO fan Karf Oohlu, whom you can always count on to bring out the funny and quirky goodness of the strangest LEGO parts. Below are a couple of examples of using the LEGO Legends of Chima bike parts from the Speedorz game, and find out they are not so bad after all…

Here is a little off-road 4WD vehicle using the front of the croc-bike from the #70103 LEGO Legends of Chima Speedorz Boulder Bowling set. Pretty sweet, huh? Mean looking too! I would love to have a bunch of these little buggers to race around! The vehicle is operated by a red LEGO frog, a re-occurring hero of Karf Oohlu’s creations. 😀

The second vehicle also uses a Speedorz bike-cover (from the #70102 LEGO Legends of Chima Speedorz CHI Waterfall set), and a couple of the Speedorz wheel-assemblies too. The Dump Bike – as it is named – is kind of based on the rickshaws, and other two wheeled contraptions you often see in India and other Asian countries. But this little guy may just have too much to balance on just two wheels… 🙄
