An interesting eBay find: LEGO Roman soldiers

Browsing eBay for LEGO can often turn up some interesting finds. For example just a few days ago I found these custom LEGO Roman accessories. They look pretty good as far as I can tell, and would go great with the LEGO Roman from Collectible Minifigs Series or just on their own. Just look at those sweet helmets, weapons, shields and armor-pieces!

According the eBay listings, the LEGO Roman accessories are made of plastic – no idea of the quality of plastic though. They are specifically made for LEGO minifigures, so they should fit well. I assume the accessories are either hand-painted or printed – I’m not sure which. I asked the seller some questions, but so far haven’t received a response.

The LEGO Roman accessories look good on the pictures, and I’m thinking of ordering at least one set, because I’m curious about the quality. They are not cheap though; $12.50 for one set, or $11.50 for those in bundles. Yeah, that’s pretty steep! But then again; it depends on how badly you want to make your LEGO Roman soldiers as realistic as possible. Below are some more pictures from the eBay listings (click for larger view):

The seller has several eBay listings with these LEGO Romans; either as a set of Roman accessories for one minifigure, or a bundle for four or five minifigures. Please note that the LEGO minifigures are NOT included, only the custom accessories, as seen on the pictures.

The seller is located in Hong Kong, and will ship worldwide for $5.50. They are considered a Top Rated Seller, although they do have some non-positive feedback – mainly related to not having an item in stock. I wouldn’t hesitate ordering from them, especially with eBay’s guarantee. If you want to check out the LEGO Roman accessories yourself, here are the eBay listings: Custom LEGO Romans by 7toys7

I know custom LEGO items are not for everyone, but if you want to own something very unique in your LEGO collection, these LEGO Roman accessories might be worth looking into. Let me know what you think. 🙂

LEGO Star Wars summer sets – video reviews

We have already talked about the LEGO Star Wars summer sets in detail in previous posts: LEGO Star Wars Summer Sets, and LEGO Star Wars Summer Sets – More Pictures! Today I wanted to share with you a few video-reviews of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars sets. This is probably the next best thing to seeing them in person. Check out the cool details and functions! The videos are from the New York toy fair, taken by FBTB.net. Enjoy! 😀

#9497 LEGO STAR WARS Republic StrikerJedi Master Satele Shan streaks through space aboard the sleek Republic Striker-class Starfighter. With attack and cruise-mode wing-configurations, flick-missiles, rear lightsaber storage and T7 -O1 droid, this powerful starfighter has everything it needs to take on the evil Sith Empire! At first this ship looks like a red X-wing, but the wing-mechanism is in fact quite different.

#9499 LEGO STAR WARS Gungan Sub Jar Jar Binks guides his friends Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn through the watery core of planet Naboo in the elegant Gungan Sub. Built to resemble some of the many creatures that inhabit the underwater world, the Gungan Sub features a large cockpit, cargo-bays, storage boxes, rotating tail propulsion, missiles and even a mini-sub with harpoon. I still don’t understand why they put Queen Amidala in this set, but whatever… she is great! 😛

#9500 LEGO STAR WARS Fury Class Interceptor On board the lethal Fury-class Interceptor, the evil Sith Lord Darth Malgus scans his instruments for Republic-occupied territory. Armed with 4 missiles and folding wings, the Sith Fury-class Interceptor’s large hold can also be used to transport Sith ground-troops into the heart of the battle. Who will defeat the evil Sith Lord? This is a really solid ship! Check it out!

#9515 LEGO STAR WARS MalevolenceThe Malevolence is Genereral Grieveous’ flagships and one of the Separatist military’s most feared weapons. Unbeknownst to Grievous and his crew, Anakin and Padme have entered the giant craft in an attempt to rid the galaxy of this deadly curse. The Malevolence features a cargo-bay with transport-train, detailed interior with removable opening sections for easy access and twin quick-fire missile launchers. The largest of the summer LEGO Star Wars ships!

#9516 LEGO STAR WARS Jabba’s PalaceAt Jabba’s Palace on Tatooine, Princess Leia is disguised as Boushh as she tries to rescue Chewbacca and carbonite-frozen Han Solo. Can she get past the roof-mounted missiles, defense-guns and surveillance equipment to reach them? Or will Jabba and his motley band of followers capture the princess and entrap her beneath Jabba’s sliding throne? In my humble opinion one of the best Star Wars LEGO sets! A nice building with great features, and an awesome selection of minifigures!

#9525 LEGO STAR WARS Pre Vizla’s Mandalorian Fighter – This is going to be a Target-exclusive set scheduled to be released in August.

Hope these videos give you a better idea of what’s coming! How do you like the summer LEGO Star Wars sets so far? Which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comment section below. :)
