The LEGO Group has recently launched the latest additions to its collection of LEGO Islands, a series of kid and family-friendly LEGO-themed experiences designed by the brand, within Fortnite.

‘LEGO Smoothie Odyssey’ joins the recently launched ‘LEGO Wing Walkers’ to offer exciting new adventures for players of all ages, alongside fresh additions and new challenges for existing LEGO Islands in ‘LEGO Prop Hunt’ and ‘LEGO Obby Fun’.

The new LEGO Islands can be found within Fortnite. Also to be found in Fortnite is the survival crafting game ‘LEGO Fortnite’ – which launched in December 2023 and provides a fun and safe digital space for children and families.

‘LEGO Smoothie Odyssey’ takes players to cosmic frontiers to create the tastiest – and strangest! – smoothies in space. Whether playing solo or with friends, players must blast off to an exotic planet in search of weird and wonderful fruit like Shock Berries and Butter Berries, then set up a galactic smoothie bar to blend dazzling concoctions and wow local Aliens.

Explorers can venture to seven new zones in search of different berries, with each zone housing unique environments – from the depths of the ancient Crystal Caves to the bubbling geysers of Hot Springs.

As well as blending their way to acclaim, smoothie makers can dive into a host of different activities across the planet with their new Alien friends, including gravity-defying parkour across The Void, exhilarating rail races from the heights of Star Peak Mountain, and paddling in the tranquil waters of Luna Lagoon.

Lofty adventure ‘LEGO Wing Walkers’, which arrived in Fortnite on May 16, is an action-packed game, with a co-op option to test teamwork, navigating a turbulent flying course. Teams of up to seven players must balance on the wings of a plane to steer it through the sky, carefully avoiding obstacles like clouds and flying pigs and collecting coins along the way.

The fun continues with a space-themed prop update to ‘LEGO Prop Hunt’, which also enjoys the introduction of a new progression system. Expect a meteor strike, space cats, cute aliens, and keep an eye out for UFO abductions. Achievements can now be collected by accomplishing goals or trying out different play styles while hiding or seeking.

Additionally, ‘LEGO Obby Fun’ – the first official LEGO-themed obstacle course in Fortnite, crafted by actual LEGO designers – welcomes a space-inspired course, while experienced climbers can now put their skills to the test in an all-new hard mode.

These latest updates join a fleet of existing kid and family-friendly LEGO Islands in Fortnite, including ‘LEGO Raft Survival’, ‘LEGO Battle Arena’, and ‘LEGO Cat Island Adventure’. Creators can also explore endless innovation by designing and publishing their very own LEGO Islands through Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and Fortnite Creative.

“We’re delighted to take players to new heights with our latest LEGO Islands play experiences in Fortnite,” said Kari Vinther Nielsen, Head of Play & Creator Growth at LEGO GAME. “Following the thrilling launches of our first LEGO Islands earlier this year, we set out to craft new creative and rewarding adventures that can be enjoyed together by players of all ages – and where better to explore next than space? By harnessing the power of UEFN, we’re able to build LEGO experiences in a whole new way, and we’re excited to share even more updates for LEGO Islands in Fortnite later this year!”

At the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco earlier this year, the LEGO Group and Epic Games announced that LEGO elements, LEGO Styles, and other LEGO Brand assets are also available in Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and Fortnite Creative, allowing creators to publish their own LEGO Islands. Keep your eyes peeled as more LEGO Islands will be revealed in Fortnite throughout 2024 and beyond.

The LEGO Group and Universal Products & Experiences are bringing to life four new LEGO Wicked sets featuring mini-dolls, launching the 1st of October this year!

The popular musical phenomenon, Wicked, becomes a two-part gravity-defying cinematic event with the first film arriving in theaters on November 27th and the second coming in the fall of 2025.

Based on the bestselling novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked is adapted for the screen by the stage production’s book writer Winnie Holzman and by legendary Academy Award-winning composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz. The Broadway stage musical is produced by Universal Stage Productions, Marc Platt, the Araca Group, Jon B. Platt, and David Stone.

Wicked, the untold story of the witches of Oz, stars Emmy, Grammy, and Tony-winning powerhouse Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, Broadway’s The Color Purple) as Elphaba, a defiant social outcast who has yet to discover her true power, and Grammy-winning, multi-platinum recording artist and global superstar Ariana Grande (Hairspray Live!, Don’t Look Up), as Glinda, a popular young woman, gilded by privilege and ambition, who has yet to discover her true heart.

As the two women forge an unlikely sisterhood, they will empower each other in ways that neither foresees. But as dark forces of prejudice and oppression loom on the horizon, the choices they make will separate them and will set them on different destinies that will change them, and Oz, for good.

The film stars Oscar-winner Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once, Crazy Rich Asians) as Madame Morrible; Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, Crashing) as Fiyero; Tony-nominee Ethan Slater (Broadway’s Spongebob Squarepants, Fosse/Verdon) as Boq; Marissa Bode, in her feature film debut, as Nessarose; and Emmy-nominee and pop culture icon Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic World franchise, The Grand Budapest Hotel) as The Wizard. The all-star cast also includes Emmy nominee Bowen Yang (Saturday Night Live) as Pfannee, Bronwyn James (Harlots) as ShenShen, and Tony-nominee Keala Settle (The Greatest Showman) as a new character created for the film, Miss Coddle.

Directed by electrifying filmmaker Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights), Wicked Part Two is the second chapter of a two-part immersive, cultural spectacular.

Wicked is produced by Marc Platt (La La Land, The Little Mermaid), and by Tony-winner David Stone (Kimberly Akimbo), with whom Platt produced the blockbuster Wicked stage musical. The executive producers are David Nicksay, Stephen Schwartz, and Jared LeBoff. Below is the trailer for the film.

And here is the LEGO-version of the trailer that shows some of the minifigs we will likely see in the upcoming sets.

LEGO Group will introduce four sets inspired by the first film that will allow fans to delve deeper into some of the most iconic scenes straight out of Oz and explore core themes, characters, and songs from the upcoming film.

“The story of Wicked creates such an incredible experience for families, so being part of the team creating LEGO sets inspired by the upcoming movie and bringing that universe to life is hugely exciting,” says Raquel Ojeda Gregorio, LEGO Wicked Design Lead at the LEGO Group. “Wicked has some of the most magical locations and characters and recreating that with LEGO bricks is a match made in Oz. I can’t wait for fans to see these colorful sets and hope they will enjoy unlocking their imagination, creating, and telling their own Wicked-inspired stories.”

Stay tuned for the full reveal of the LEGO Wicked sets later this year and coming to fans from the 1st of October! What do you think? Feel free to share your thoughts on the new film and LEGO sets in the comment section below!
