LEGO Ninjago New Teaser-Trailer & More!

As we discussed previously (see: Ninjago: Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu), there are some changes coming with the next season of the LEGO Ninjago saga, titled LEGO Ninjago: Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu. Since the announcement about the next season, the first teaser trailer was released, which you can watch below. And the sets related to the new season are already revealed, so we can talk about those as well. In addition, there is an interesting interview with the LEGO Ninjago team about the recently released LEGO Ninjago Legacy sets, which I have also linked below. So, let’s take a look at all this Ninjago news!

Basking in the glory of their recent victory, the ninja embark on a new adventure to explore a mysterious pyramid – just for a little light rest and recovery, of course. But, has success lulled our heroes into a false sense of security? When the ninja accidentally set an ancient threat loose, nothing could ever have prepared them for the mayhem that follows. Watch the first official teaser for the new LEGO Ninjago TV season, and get ready to join the adventures of Nya, Kai, Jay, Zane, Cole, Lloyd, and Master Wu in 30 brand new episodes!

As you can see in the trailer, it looks like our heroes are going to be busy with new adventures. It’s disappointing that the trailer has no narration to give us any clues, but hopefully we will learn more about the story soon. Some things we do know already is that the upcoming TV season will have 30 episodes of 11 minutes each, and that the season picks up shortly after March of the Oni and remains true to the story canon and the characters.

As usual, there will be LEGO Ninjago sets related to the season, depicting the scenes, vehicles, mechs, heroes, and villains from the TV show. The sets we know about already are the #70671 LEGO Ninjago Lloyd’s Journey, the #70672 LEGO Ninjago Cole’s Dirt Bike, the #70673 LEGO Ninjago Shuricopter, the #70674 LEGO Ninjago Fire Fang, the #70675 LEGO Ninjago Katana 4×4, the #70676 LEGO Ninjago Lloyd’s Titan Mech, the #70677 LEGO Ninjago Land Bounty, the #70678 LEGO Ninjago Castle of the Forsaken Emperor, and some new spinners. The sets will be available on August first, but you can already check out pictures, descriptions, prices, and other details at the LEGO Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.

And as I mentioned above, there is also an interesting interview published at the LEGO Ambassador Forum’s blog section titled, The Legacy of LEGO Ninjago. It relates a discussion between Tommy Andreasen, Tommy Kalmar, and Michael Svane Knap, who have been all intimately involved with creating the LEGO Ninjago storyline and LEGO Ninjago sets. They talk about the LEGO Ninjago Legacy collection, which include updated versions of some of the earliest and most iconic LEGO Ninjago sets.

Some of the topics they cover are how the LEGO Ninjago Legacy sets differ from their original versions and why, the reason for the updated minifigures, and plans the LEGO Ninjago team has for the future. This includes more LEGO Ninjago Legacy sets that cover not just re-releases but vehicles and locations that weren’t made into LEGO sets before. All really exciting news! Read the blog post here: The Legacy of LEGO Ninjago. And if you haven’t done so already, check out the currently available LEGO Ninjago Legacy sets at the LEGO Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? How did you like the new trailer? Did you notice any interesting details? Are you looking forward to the next season of the LEGO Ninjago TV show? And what do you think of the LEGO Ninjago Legacy sets and the upcoming LEGO Ninjago sets related to the new season? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!

LEGO Toy Story 4 Collection Review

Toy Story 4 is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 21s, but the LEGO sets related to the film are already available. The synopsis states that Toy Story 4 takes place some years after Andy gave his toys to Bonnie. Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the toys are faced with a problem when Bonnie creates a new toy from arts and crafts, named Forky. Forky suffers from an existential crisis about being a toy, and the others try to help him understand how to be one. As Bonnie and her family go on a road trip, Forky escapes and Woody goes to save him, becoming separated from the group near a small town. As Buzz and the others try to help find Woody, Woody finds Bo Peep among other toys in the town’s antique shop, and she gives him a new outlook on what being a toy is really about.

The LEGO Toy Story 4 sets are all under the LEGO 4+ line (formerly called LEGO Juniors). This means that the sets are designed to be simple to build, including some large pieces, so children who are just transitioning out of LEGO DUPLO can easily put them together. The characters, however, are regular LEGO minifigs. Another nice feature of LEGO 4+ sets is that all the decorated elements are printed. This can also make them interesting to older LEGO fans who are looking for unique and useful printed parts. There are six sets in the LEGO Toy Story 4 collection, so let’s take a closer look.

#10766 LEGO TOY STORY WOODY & RC: This is the smallest set in the LEGO Toy Story 4 collection. The set is similar to the #7590 LEGO Toy Story Woody & Buzz to the Rescue set from 2010, but there are also some differences. The Toy Story RC character car uses a special starter brick chassis for easy building by young children. Also, notice that the new Woody minifigure has a standard minifig head instead of the special moulds used for the characters in the 2010 LEGO Toy Story sets. This makes the minifig a lot more versatile and easily usable in other settings. And check out the three green army men micro-figures! This is a nice and inexpensive starter set overall. 69 pieces. Price: $9.99 – BUY HERE

#10767 LEGO DUKE CABOOM’S STUNT SHOW: This set features a red and white striped ramp with a gap for cars to jump through, and an adjustable ring of fire with lots of trans-orange element. Two little cars are included, as well as a motorcycle, three stackable cans, and a rinted stunt sign that can be knocked down. Also notice the nicely printed red maple leaf on the motorcycle! The two minifigs are Woody and Duke Caboom. 120 pieces. Price: $19.99 – BUY HERE

#10768 LEGO BUZZ & BO’S PLAYGROUND ADVENTURE: There is so much to like about this set! It features a 2-level playhouse with kitchen area, slide, bridge with movable bushes underneath, climbing wall, bubble window stand, a separate merry-go-round, and a black and white skunk-mobile. (It’s worth noting that that the plant elements are the new sustainable plant-based plastic trees.) The three minifigs are Buzz Lightyear, Bo Peep and Gabby Gabby. The colors of the whole set are exceptionally nice, and the two girls are super cute. This is my favorite set in the entire collection! It could easily be used as a playground in any LEGO City setting. 139 pieces. Price: $24.99 – BUY HERE

#10769 LEGO TOY STORY 4 RV VACATION: This is a larger set, so there is a lot more included here. There is an RV that’s not the most realistic, but it’s cute, and has a removable roof, and a full interior with bed, toilet, and sink. A separate section is a park building with picnic table, grill, and lots of little accessories. There is also a printed RV park sign with opening gate. The character lineup is also really good; Jessie and Alien, plus Rex, and adorable little Forky. 178 pieces. Price: $34.99 – BUY HERE

#10770 LEGO BUZZ & WOODY’S CARNIVAL MANIA!: LEGO has been releasing quite a few really good fairground and carnival sets in various themes, and this set is a great addition. Here, we get a carnival shooting game with printed details and rocket elements that can be knocked down with the working cannon. There is also a purple Terrorantulus ride that turns and has adjustable arms, two bumper cars, and an ice cream shop with register, table, and benches. So much to like here! The included characters are Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Bo Peep, Ducky, and Bunny. I would consider this set just for the printed pieces or even the fully built carnival attractions! 230 pieces. Price: $49.99 – BUY HERE

#10771 LEGO TOY STORY 4 CARNIVAL THRILL COASTER: This is another carnival set featuring a purple roller coaster track with 6 track pieces and 3 coaster cars, a large entrance arch, flags, camera, and spinning turnstile. There is also a separate small cart with ice cream, pizza, and a balloon – an interesting combination. The two minifigs are Buzz Lightyear and Alien. This is an exceptionally good roller coaster starter set. 98 pieces. Price: $19.99 – BUY HERE

All six of the LEGO Toy Story 4 sets have something great to offer. For kids, all the sets are easy to build and come with fun play-features. And for adult LEGO fans, the playground and carnival sets could be great additions to LEGO City and fairground dioramas. The prices are a bit on the high side due to the printed elements and some larger pieces, but I think the value is still good for what you get. You can find all the sets at the LEGO Toy Story section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to Toy Story 4? And what do you think of the LEGO sets related to the film? Are you planning to get any of them? Or did you get them already? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!
