There are a couple of fun LEGO mobile apps that were recently released and you might want to try out. I have played around with some of them and they are quite engaging and challenging. Below are the details as well as trailers for both of the apps. 🙂

LEGO STAR WARS MICROFIGHTERS APP: This is a fun little app with a chance to navigate some LEGO Star Wars Microfighters! Here is the official description: Pick your LEGO minifigure pilot, choose your LEGO Star Wars Microfighters vehicle and fly! Pilot a LEGO Star Wars Microfighters vehicle as you master the drift and set high-scores to unlock iconic Star Wars characters. Only the most skilled pilots can become a drift master! The game features 27 iconic LEGO Star Wars minifigures, including Han Solo, Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, and Princess Leia, and 9 Star Wars Microfighters, including the Millennium Falcon, an X-Wing, a Y-Wing, a TIE Fighter and more. The game also features authentic John Williams score for the ultimate LEGO Star Wars experience. Below is the trailer for the game, so you get a sense of how it looks, and you can download it at Google Play or the App Store.

LEGO NINJAGO: RIDE NINJA APP: This app uses motion-sensing tilt control to move the bike around, which is a new feature for LEGO games. Here is the official description: Battle the bad guys through Ninjago City in the free new ninja race combat game – LEGO Ninjago: Ride Ninja. Zane has gone undercover and infiltrated the Sons of Garmadon – a dangerous criminal organization and biker gang in Ninjago City. The Titanium Ninja is on a mission to find out what the gang is up to, and has almost earned their trust but needs to pass one final test to become one of them – survive their dangerous initiation race, the Street Race of Snake Jaguar! Playing as Zane, LEGO Ninjago: Ride Ninja sits you on the seat of his super-cool bike, equipped with a Ninjago sword and shuriken, for an all-action ninja combat racing game. Zane knows this race is going to be tough as there are no rules, and the bikers like to play dirty. The Sons of Garmadon give chase – some ride motorbikes, Ultra Violet rides her Stone Booster bike and Mr. E’s devilish Oni Bike has deadly chopping blades with spikes! Below is the trailer for the game, and you can download it at Google Play (should be coming to the App Store soon also).

LEGO BRICKHEADZ BUILDER VR APP: This app was released some time back, but it has been updated with some additional cool features, allowing you to build pretty much anything not just BrickHeadz characters. The app works with the Google Daydream virtual reality viewer. Here is the official description: Have fun discovering new characters and objects by solving the play formulas in the magic book. Explore building virtual LEGO models and toying with playful and crazy LEGO BrickHeadz characters, changing their looks and behaviors. The game allows you to design your own LEGO BrickHeadz characters and bring them to life. You can play with your creations, and special combinations will unlock new characters and items. You can download the app at Google Play.

There are a number of other LEGO mobile app games as well, so make sure you check them out at Google Play or the App Store. They are fun to play when you have a little free time. Please note that all games developed by LEGO are appropriate and safe for younger players with no third-party adds or other content. And, of course, they are fun for older players too.

What do you think? Do you play any LEGO game apps? Which one is your favorite? Feel free to share your thoughts and own reviews in the comment section below! 😉

LEGO contests for every interest and style!

There are a number of LEGO contests happening at ReBrick right now for teen and adult LEGO fans, so I thought it would be a good idea to do a roundup of the contests that you can participate in. 🙂

LEGO BRICKHEADZ BRICK SELFIE CONTEST: This contest started back in April, and the deadline to enter is tomorrow, May 8th. The response to this contest has been fantastic, with over four hundred submissions. The contest basically asks participants to create a LEGO version of themselves in blocky LEGO BrickHeadz style. Again, the deadline is tomorrow, so there is not much time left to participate, but you can still squeeze in your creation if you hurry up. And, even if you don’t plan to compete, I highly recommend checking out the submissions, as there are some really great BrickHeadz you can take inspiration from for your own building. We talked about this contest in more detail preciously (see: LEGO BrickHeadz Brick Selfie Contest), and you can check out the entries, discussions, and other relevant info on the contest page: LEGO BRICKHEADZ BRICK SELFIE CONTEST

LEGO FRIENDS GO-KART CONTEST: This contest was recently closed, but still worth mentioning, because of its immense popularity. There are close to five hundred super creative entries! We talked about this contest in detail already (see: LEGO Friends Customize Your Go-Kart Contest), but in short, participants were challenged to build a vignette featuring a LEGO Friends Go-Kart. This contest is a tie-in with the upcoming LEGO Friends Go-Kart racing sub-theme that will be released this summer. The winners will be announced on May 21st. Here is the link to the contest page: LEGO FRIENDS GO-KART CONTEST

LEGO FIRST LEAGUE TROPHY CONTEST: This contest is actually run at LEGO Ideas instead of at ReBrick, but you can access the contest page from either websites. LEGO Education is looking for a new design for the First LEGO League World Festival trophy, which is used to recognize all World Festival award categories and the champions award. Basically, they want epic and display-worthy trophies built from LEGO bricks. The deadline for this contest is May 31st. You can find out more information at the contest page: LEGO FIRST LEAGUE TROPHY CONTEST

LEGO JURASSIC WORLD CONTEST: This is the most recent contest on ReBrick with a deadline of June 1st. The challenge is to build something iconic that symbolizes the action-packed stories of the Jurassic Park or Jurassic World films. Your entry could be something like the hatching of a dinosaur egg, the iconic Jurassic World logo, a DNA string, claw marks, a shaking glass of water, a dinosaur footprint in the mud, or whatever else you think represents the films well. As this contest is very new, there are only a few submissions so far, and there is still plenty of time to enter. You can find out more info about this contest here: LEGO JURASSIC WORLD CONTEST

The rules for each of the contest are listed at their respective pages, but in general, all ReBrick and LEGO Ideas contests are for teen and adult builders (you have to be at least 13 to enter). This means that the bar is set pretty high, and you will be competing against some really creative and experienced builders. However, this should not deter you from entering, as these contests are a fun way to challenge your creativity and building skills. Also, as these contests are run by LEGO directly, the prizes are always very generous, usually containing a large number of really nice LEGO sets and exclusives both for the grand prize winner and the runner up winners.

What do you think? Are you planning to enter any of these LEGO contests? Or have you submitted your model to any of them already? Feel free to share your own ideas and submissions in the comment section below! We would love to check them out! 😉
