The sequel to the highly successful The Incredibles animated Pixar film is coming to theatres this summer (June 15th). Incredibles 2 resumes where the first film ends, with the introduction of the villain the Underminer. Helen, as Elastigirl, continues to fight crime and campaign for the return of “supers”; while Bob, a.k.a. Mr. Incredible, stays at home caring for their children Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack. But then of course stuff happens as nothing is ever normal with this family. Incredibles 2 is written and directed by Brad Bird, who also wrote and directed the first film, so I expect the sequel to be just as action-packed and enjoyable. 🙂

To accompany the film, we also get three LEGO Incredibles sets under the LEGO Juniors line, as well as a LEGO BrickHeadz set with Mr. Incredible and Frozone. Below are the details about all four sets, and I also included the movie trailer for your reference. Please note that all of the sets are already available at various LEGO retailers and at the Online LEGO Shop.

#10759 LEGO JUNIORS ELASTIGIRL’S ROOFTOP PURSUIT: This action-packed set features a helicopter with Quick Start chassis, spinning hypno-propeller and opening cockpit, a rooftop section with Quick Start baseplate, billboard, helipad and satellite dish, turbine obstacle with spinning propeller, plus Elastigirl’s Elasticycle. #10760 LEGO JUNIORS UNDERMINER BANK HEIST: Fire up your child’s imagination for some LEGO Juniors Incredibles 2 excitement, with this thrilling Underminer Bank Heist set, featuring a bank vault with breakaway door, Incredibile vehicle with Quick Start chassis, Tunneler machine with Quick Start chassis and spinning drill bits, plus a street build with brick wall, wanted poster and buildable streetlamp. #41613 LEGO BRICKHEADZ MR. INCREDIBLE & FROZONE: These LEGO BrickHeadz Mr. Incredible & Frozone construction characters are fun to build using colorful LEGO bricks that recreate all their iconic details from Disney Pixar’s blockbuster Incredibles 2 movie. Each character stands on a buildable collector’s baseplate with BrickHeadz logo for easy display in your home, office or anywhere you like. Each character stands over 2” (7cm) tall without baseplate. Baseplates measure over 1” (4cm) square. 160 pieces. Price: $19.99 – BUY HERE

It is interesting that LEGO choose to release all of the Incredibles 2 sets under the LEGO Juniors line. This means that the sets are super easy to build even for younger kids (LEGO Juniors is recommended for ages 4-5). While all the pieces are regular LEGO elements, vehicles and buildings include what LEGO calls Quick Start elements – larger pieces that replace more complex assemblies.

Although the sets may not be interesting to older LEGO fans because of the juniorized building experience, LEGO Juniors sets do have one very appealing feature; all the decorated pieces you see in the sets are printed instead of stickered. Particularly nice are the “Wanted” poster, car hood, bank vault door, and soda can top in the #10760 LEGO Juniors Underminer Bank Heist set, and the various interior decoration pieces in the #10761 LEGO Juniors The Great Home Escape.

LEGO Juniors characters are standard minifigures, so if you would like to add the Incredibles heroes and villains to your collection, here is your chance. Between the three sets we get Mrs. Incredible (in regular form and Elastigirl form with long bendy arms), Mr. Incredible, Violet, Dash, an adorable Jack-Jack baby figure, the Underminer, Brick, and Screenslaver.

Besides the LEGO Incredibles 2 building sets, there is also going to be video game coming in June to  PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The new LEGO The Incredibles game will cover both the original and sequel with action packed levels full of fun and adventure. The teaser trailer below gives you a taste of the game, which is already available for pre-order on Amazon: LEGO INCDREDIBLES GAME ON AMAZON

What do you think? Are you looking forward to the Incredibles 2 movie? How do you like the new LEGO Juniors Incredibles 2 sets? Are you planning to get any of them? LEGO Creator Roller Coasters coming!

It has been long rumored that after the #10244 LEGO Creator Fairground Mixer from 2014, the #10247 LEGO Creator Ferris Wheel from 2015, and the #10257 LEGO Creator Carousel from 2017, the next fairground-inspired set is going to be a roller coaster. 🙂

This rumor was mostly based on the fact that the box images and promotional materials of both the #10247 LEGO Creator Ferris Wheel and the #10257 LEGO Creator Carousel featured a roller coaster in the background. (As a side note, that same images also show a swing ride, which appears to be heavily inspired by the Star Flyer ride of Tivoli Gardens, Denmark. The LEGO version has the same star shaped body as the real ride, and it even features a similar globe on top – except that the LEGO version is shaped like a LEGO Classic Space logo. This may be a hint to another future fairground set.)

When the #70922 LEGO Batman Movie The Joker Manor was revealed last year with a whole new roller coaster track and car system, it became pretty obvious that we are going to get a regular roller very soon. However, LEGO decided to surprise us with not one, but two roller coasters this year. The #31084 LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Pirate Roller Coaster includes a fairly substantial number of tracks, to build a full roller coaster ride, and the set can also be rebuilt into two other fun rides. This will be an excellent and moderately priced introduction (exact price not yet known) to the new roller coaster system.

If you want to go big, however, and build a giant roller coaster for your minifigures, you can look forward to the #10261 LEGO Creator Expert Roller Coaster coming soon. Below is the press-release of the new set, along with pictures, and introductory videos.

Take a ride with the ultimate Roller Coaster! Enjoy the thrills and excitement of the fairground with this chain-lift Roller Coaster featuring a wealth of brick-built details and 11 minifigures. This fully functional chain-lift model comes with 2 trains and an array of authentic features and functions, including a ticket booth, cotton candy cart, concession stand, height marker, and a covered boarding station complete with opening barriers and a control panel. Lower the lap bars to secure the riders into the cars and release the brake to send the train to the foot of the first climb. Then activate the chain lift and enjoy the ride as the gravity-driven cars hurtle through the Roller Coaster’s twists and turns. Upgrade the Roller Coaster with LEGO Power Functions for a motorized chain lift or LEGO BOOST for an added movement sensor and realistic sound effects!
