Ninjago Season 7: Hands of Time new trailer!

Last December we saw the first trailer for the upcoming LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu Season 7, titled “Hands of Time” (see: Ninjago Season 7: Hands of Time Trailer!). Then, last month, LEGO released a second trailer with more details. The description reads as follows: “A new threat has slithered from the swamp. Who are these nasty new baddies, and will they be too much for the ninja?” Watch the new trailer below! 🙂

As a reminder, Season 6 of the LEGO Ninjago TV show was called Skybound with ten episodes, and it was followed by a one-time TV special titled LEGO Ninjago: Day of the Departed (you can watch it here). LEGO Ninjago: Hands of Time will be a regular season with ten episodes, focusing on Kai, Nya, and their parents.

“Deep underneath Ninjago City, a new threat is about to be hatched. An army bread from the swamp, lead by the most dangerous Serpentine the world has ever seen…” In this trailer we have a chance to take a better look at the Vermillion warriors, and their role in the story. Can’t wait to see the new episodes! How about you? 😀

It’s still not known when the LEGO Ninjago Season 7 episodes will start airing, but I assume it will be soon, as the new sets related to the story have been out since January. While we are waiting for the TV show, you can visit the official LEGO Ninjago website to learn more about the new characters, join our discussion on the new sets (see: LEGO Ninjago Hands of Time Sets Review), and find the new sets under the LEGO Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.

So what do you think? How do you like the LEGO Ninjago Season 7 trailer? Are you looking forward to the episodes? Are there any interesting details you found in the trailer? Do you have any of the new sets yet? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

2017 LEGO Minecraft sets review

LEGO released six new sets in the LEGO Minecraft line, which we will be taking a look at today. This wave is particularly interesting because of the variety of locations, characters, colors, and building techniques. So let’s see what we got this year in the LEGO Minecraft collection. 🙂

#21129 LEGO MINECRAFT THE MUSHROOM ISLAND: This is one of the smaller sets in the lineup, but I quite like the large red mushroom as it adds some bright color to the otherwise mostly earthy tones of the LEGO Minecraft landscape. The only play-feature is the exploding animal pen fence, however – like in all LEGO Minecraft sets – the layout can be reconfigured in a number of different ways. I think this is a nice small addition, if you have some room left in your LEGO Minecraft layout. Here is the official description: Sail out on a new Minecraft adventure to discover The Mushroom Island, mine vital supplies, grow crops and nurture the mooshroom and her baby. Enjoy hands-on Minecraft adventures featuring your favorite characters and objects with this easy-to-reconfigure, modular LEGO Minecraft set, complete with explosion function—designed for young fans of the highly successful sandbox video game. Includes an Alex minifigure, plus a mooshroom, baby mooshroom and a Creeper. 247 pieces. Price: $19.99 – BUY HERE

#21130 LEGO MINECRAFT THE NETHER RAILWAY: This set is very significant – and not just for Minecraft fans, but LEGO fans in general – because of the very unique rail system. The rail takes advantage of the new curved tile pieces, and also a brand new element that connects the tiles at the curves (see the video-review below for more details). There is so much potential with this system to build mini trains, go-carts, mine-tracks, monorails, and more. In the world of LEGO Minecraft, this set can be connected with the previously released #21118 LEGO Minecraft The Mine, and could also be configured in a number of different ways to make different track layouts. And that’s not all; check out how that big magma cube works! It’s brilliant! This is probably the most unique set from the entire LEGO Minecraft collection. Here is the official description: Build an awesome rail system and journey through the Nether. Avoid the soul sand, hopping magma cubes and the zombie pigman as you search for precious nether quartz ore. Includes a Steve minifigure, plus a zombie pigman, big magma cube and a small magma cube. 387 pieces. Price: $29.99 – BUY HERE

#21131 LEGO MINECRAFT THE ICE SPIKES: This is another great LEGO Minecraft set, not just because of the interesting play-feature of transforming the snowman into a snow golem, but also because of the heavy use of medium-blue and brick-light blue, recolored ladder pieces, recolored 1×1 plates with clips, and interesting printed elements. Here is the official description: Discover a rare snow-covered biome! Build a snowman that transforms into a snow golem, spring a surprise attack on the spider and build a bed high in The Ice Spikes! Includes a Steve minifigure, plus a buildable spider, snow golem, snowman and baby cow. 454 pieces. Price: $39.99 – BUY HERE

#21132 LEGO MINECRAFT JUNGLE TEMPLE: This set has a couple of interesting play-features in the form of a booby trap and a combination-puzzle to discover a hidden treasure chest. I wish it had more traps of some sort to make it more difficult to get inside, but you can always just add more basic booby traps. I really like the look of the temple from the outside. It very much resembles a temple covered up by the jungle, and it looks good from all four sides. The alternate configurations also look very good. And it’s nice to get another ocelot. Here is the official description: Run the gauntlet of The Jungle Temple, with hostile mobs and a booby trap, then solve the three-lever combination puzzle to reveal the hidden treasure chest! Includes a Steve minifigure, plus an ocelot and two skeletons. 598 pieces. Price: $49.99 – BUY HERE

#21133 LEGO MINECRAFT THE WITCH HUT: Check out those sweet lilypads made up of the new quarter round and half circle tiles! I also really like the potion bottles using a translucent minifig head, 1×1 clear tile with pin, and regular 1×1 round plate. This set has a very nice terrain overall, and the new witch minifig is great. Here is the official description: Navigate your boat through the Minecraft swamp to the witch’s hut. Create potions, activate the jumping slime function and defeat the dangerous witch! Includes an Alex minifigure, plus a witch, pig and three slimes. 502 pieces. Price: $59.99 – BUY HERE

#21134 LEGO MINECRAFT THE WATERFALL BASE: This is another very interesting set, because instead of rearranging separate modules, the alternate builds are achieved by simply opening and closing hinged sections. The engineering of the whole layout is masterfully done. Even if you are not interested in this particular set, or LEGO Minecraft in general, I highly recommend watching the video-review below to see how the hinges and transformation features work. You will learn some very unusual building techniques. Here is the official description: Use your Minecraft creativity and know-how to build the ultimate shelter, packed with exterior and interior details and features. Rear livestock, grow crops and do a spot of fishing, but remember to look out for the hostile mobs! Includes two minifigures: Steve and Alex, plus a buildable enderman, zombie, cat and dyed sheep. 729 pieces. Price: $69.99 – BUY HERE

I would say that the 2017 LEGO Minecraft selection is one of the best we have seen so far. It is a very interesting mix of different Minecraft settings, but what really stands out is the building techniques used for the play and transformational features. Instead of using the same techniques already established in the LEGO Minecaft system, LEGO designers continue to come up with new ways to challenge and delight LEGO Minecraft fans, while still being fully compatible with previous sets. The only thing lacking in this wave is any significant updates or additions to the characters, but we already have a fairly good lineup from previous waves. You can find all the new sets under the LEGO Minecraft section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? How do you like the 2017 LEGO Minecraft sets? Do you have any of them already? Or are you planning to get some? Which one is your favorite, and why? Feel free to share your thoughts and own review in the comment section below! 😉
