LEGO Christmas Sets Available Now!

It has become a yearly tradition that LEGO releases a set just for the Christmas holidays. These LEGO Christmas sets are becoming highly anticipated every year as we get closer to the holidays. The sets are popular with both adults and children as they are fun to build, have lots of nice details, and they look lovely around the Christmas tree.

The LEGO Christmas sets all follow the theme of a little LEGO village with minifigs enjoying their Christmas holidays. They remind me of those magical Thomas Kinkade winter village paintings. Here is a list of all the LEGO Christmas sets released so far:

#10199 LEGO WINTER TOY SHOP – released for the 2009 Christmas season, it was an instant favorite of LEGO fans. With 815 pieces and a price tag of $59.99, this is not a bad deal at all. You can still buy this set at LEGO’s website, just follow the link: BUY WINTER TOY SHOP HERE

“Celebrate the holidays with this festive scene! The holidays are coming, and that means a busy time in the toy maker’s workshop! This scene from a winter wonderland includes a charming shop filled with tools, toys, and even a light-up tower window. Outside, minifigures sing carols by the bench and lamppost, ski on the snow drifts, build a snowman and play with snowballs, and decorate the giant Christmas tree with a star, lights and gift-wrapped presents around the base.”

#10216 LEGO WINTER VILLAGE BAKERY – released for the 2010 Christmas season, this was another wonderful addition to the LEGO Christmas village scene. Contains 687 pieces for $54.99. This set is also still available at LEGO’s website: BUY VILLAGE BAKERY HERE

“Return to yesteryear with this festive holiday scene! It’s a winter wonderland in this snow-covered little town! A special-delivery evergreen, all ready for decorating, arrives at the tree seller’s stand by horse-drawn cart, while ice skaters frolic on the frozen pond with colorful lights and a curious owl perched overhead. Just look out for the freshly-shoveled snow piles – one skater has already tumbled in head-first! At the bakery nearby, the friendly baker prepares delicious holiday treats in his oven and rings up sales at the cash register. Push the glowing LEGO Power Functions brick to fill the building with warm interior light!”

#10222 LEGO WINTER VILLAGE POST OFFICE – released for the 2011 Christmas season, released a couple of days ago! This is the largest of the 3 sets with 822 pieces for a price of $69.99. Just follow the link if you would like to add it to your collection: BUY VILLAGE POST OFFICE HERE

“Deliver sacks full of holiday greetings and gifts in the cozy Winter Village Post Office! Continuing the winter scene series, the Winter Village Post Office is the perfect snow-covered setting. In the cozy post office, the worker is hard at work sorting all the mail into containers and sacks, while upstairs, there’s just time for the postman to take a break before setting off in the traditional post car with all the letters and gifts. From the pavilion outside, musicians fill the air with music, while children take in the wintry atmosphere by the park bench before throwing snowballs at each other – the musicians had better get ready to duck!”

#10173 LEGO HOLIDAY TRAIN – released for the 2007 Christmas season. Although the Holiday Train is technically not part of the current LEGO Winter Village series, it was definitely the first in a trend of larger LEGO Christmas sets, and it does fit nicely with the Winter Village. Although no longer available from LEGO, you can still find it on Amazon. Just follow the link: BUY HOLIDAY TRAIN HERE

All aboard for holiday adventure! Ride the rails to holiday fun with this exclusive train set! This cheerful train is all decked out for the season in red, white, and green, with festive lights, holly, and good tidings galore. With four passengers and three crew, the Holiday Train is sure to make your family’s holiday wishes come true.”

If you would like to set up your own LEGO Christmas village this year, I would suggest shopping early, as LEGO ran out of them in previous years. Oh, and don’t forget; this month you will earn double VIP points on every purchase, which does help a lot if you buy LEGO regularly.

I think I’ve seen more christmas sets in the Lego catalogs, are you sure that’s all?

Quad, there are also the Advent Calendar sets, but they are not part of the Winter Village series. 😉

FYI: There is a typo in the set number you list for the holiday train. The correct set number is 10173. 🙂

The toy shop is my favorite. It relaly captured the spirit! The bakery is also fun. This third one is a little bit odd, with the dog trainer, the gazebo doesn’t do much for me, but the post office truck is great!
