I will say two things: one, is I am really glad they made some “battle pack-esce” sets Although The Orc Forge and Uruk-hai Army sets are a little more expensive then I would like for a battle pack, they are great in the figures that they have. Second, I love Shelob. I just wished that Aragog from Hagid’s Hut looked that good.

Chris February 21, 2012 at 12:09 PM

Amazing sets. I’ll be getting Shelob and Gandalf Arrives sets as soon as they hit stores.

Sarah February 21, 2012 at 12:26 PM

*drool* I love these sets! The details on the minifigures and their accessories is just amazing!! I can’t wait for these to come out. I just hope we’ll have some money to buy extras to build with, but there’s going to be so much to buy this summer with Monster Fighters, Marvel, Minifigure Series and some of the Friends sets…gonna definitely be broke this year, but rich in LEGO. lol! ๐Ÿ˜€

admin February 21, 2012 at 1:32 PM

Sarah, yeah, this is going to be an expensive year! But there is no reason to worry; the world supposed to end by December of 2012 anyway, so we might as well die with all the LEGO we can get! ๐Ÿ˜‰

alec February 21, 2012 at 6:01 PM

I really like the uruk hai army set! 6 minifigs make it a great army builder. I just wish it were 25 or 20$ Also the orc forge looks cool as well. I love the printing on the orcs and the weapon forge looks like a nice addition to my orc army/camp. In my opinion Helms deep looks out of proportion and overpriced but I really like the detail on the elf. I hope they make a jumbo size collecters series of helms deep and minas tirith just like the starwars collectors series. A 5,000 piece version would be really awesome!

Sarah February 21, 2012 at 6:36 PM

ROFL! Good thinking. That’s my goal for this year – buy as much LEGO as possible so I can die happy. ๐Ÿ˜‰

admin February 21, 2012 at 9:51 PM

Alec, that is a great idea about a collector series Helms Deep or Minas Tirith! I would love to see that! ๐Ÿ˜€

Alec February 21, 2012 at 10:47 PM

I wonder if someone made a project on that cuusoo website if it could get enough supporters to have a LOTR collecters series come true. That would be great! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m still mindboggled lego minecraft would get 10,000 supporters.

Justin February 21, 2012 at 11:32 PM

Hi there, can’t wait to get my hands on some of the LOTR sets like Helms Deep and Mines of Moria because of what I remember from the scenes from the films..

Oh yeah, I wanted to look at an old article here and I looked quite long for it, I think it would be useful if your website had a SEARCH BAR, that would have helped me.. Cheers!

Chris February 22, 2012 at 12:20 AM

There’s a search box on the left side of the page. It’s below the links.

Justin February 22, 2012 at 3:40 AM

oh thanks, totally missed it..

Carium February 22, 2012 at 8:41 AM

it looks way better than i expected after the first unofficial pics. canยดt wait for it!

admin February 22, 2012 at 10:07 AM

Thanks, Chris! I actually use that search box myself when I forget wher I put a post. It comes quite handy. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Justin, if you still have trouble finding what you are looking for, just let me know. ๐Ÿ™‚

nimjaelf February 22, 2012 at 10:40 AM

looking epic!

Quad February 22, 2012 at 1:22 PM

That new horse design look great! Now our horses can move their neck and hind legs. ๐Ÿ™‚
And that large cave troll looks like it would be a great mold for a rancor in the star wars line.

Nick Nox February 22, 2012 at 3:26 PM

Awesomeness, Love the cave troll ๐Ÿ˜€ Why are the Uruk-hai red though (faces and arms)?

Ninja master February 23, 2012 at 10:04 PM

They look pretty cool, but there isnt very much of the hobbit.

admin February 23, 2012 at 10:09 PM

Ninja Master, The Hobbit movie is not coming out until December. LEGO sets based on that story will correspond with the release of the film. ๐Ÿ™‚

Frodo66 February 25, 2012 at 8:27 AM

I am a huge LotR fan and the sets look amazing!! i am getting the Shelob Attacks set but admin, the bible says that “no man shall know the end.” I will definitely have three or four of these sets on my birthday list, as well as the hobbit sets!!

admin February 25, 2012 at 9:02 AM

Frodo, yes, the new LOTR sets are awesome. My comment about the end coming soon was a joke. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Frodo66 February 27, 2012 at 6:27 PM

again i like the sets but the weathertop set is a expensive!!

LOLZ@LIFE March 1, 2012 at 2:37 PM

I hope there Re some elf sets other than helms deep cuz it’s a bit pricy

LOLZ@LIFE March 1, 2012 at 2:40 PM

Ooh! And maybe a haradrim set as well!

admin March 1, 2012 at 3:21 PM

Yes, I hope so too! I expect that LEGO will make some battle-packs to boost your armies. ๐Ÿ™‚

admin March 3, 2012 at 10:32 PM

UPDATE: I just posted some review videos of the upcoming Lord of the Rings sets. See here: LEGO Lord of the Rings Videos. Enjoy! ๐Ÿ˜€

lloyd zx March 6, 2012 at 7:57 AM

ME PRECIOUS!!!!!!! I love the sets. I do not know how I’ll manage either, though. I had my eyes set on the ultra sonic raider from ninjago, but now I also want the attack on helm’s deep and the attack on weathertop!!

admin March 6, 2012 at 10:03 AM

Lloyd, the only solution is to get RICH! ๐Ÿ˜€

lloyd zx March 6, 2012 at 4:19 PM

One other thing: Where is Sauron and Sauraman? Also, I think the Mines of Moriah should have a balrog.

lloyd zx March 6, 2012 at 4:21 PM

The elf from lego minifigures will go along perfectly with this theme! I only hope they keep this theme for years and years like they have lego star wars! P.S. I think they would need to have it for at least a few years to have a reasonably good collection of lord of the rings sets and actually allow you to play out more.

lloyd zx March 6, 2012 at 4:21 PM

Elrond’s house would be a nice set, too.

admin March 6, 2012 at 8:24 PM

Lloyd, I certainly hope so! ๐Ÿ˜€

bigmac March 8, 2012 at 12:41 AM

lutrz comes in the Orc forge set hes the one on the right!

lloyd zx March 9, 2012 at 9:46 PM

I agree about the weathertop set. It does not look as expensive as it is.

jay ZX March 10, 2012 at 4:39 PM

OMG theese are like HARDCORE the new sets like im gonnna have to do a full 24 hours work a because theres like monster fighters super heros new ninjago new star wars and the mabey even series 7 minifigures! and now THIS. boy i’m never gonna get eve HALF of these amaizing sets!:)

admin March 10, 2012 at 5:48 PM

Yeah, better start savin’!

Gandalf147 March 19, 2012 at 8:02 AM

The sets are pretty cool and the prices are better than most lego sets but, the weathertop set is just expensive and next to that it does not look like much of a set.

Lurtz455 March 25, 2012 at 12:40 AM

Can’t wait till the sets come out! – Compared to other sets these are cheap and they got alot of people in most of them which i like alot =D i hope to get more money so i can afford all the sets and game ๐Ÿ™‚

Deathleech May 4, 2012 at 3:16 PM

I actually really like the Uruk-Hai Army set. Sure it’s a little pricey, but you can use the wall section with the Helm’s Deep set to add extra length to the wall. Very cool! Plus you get the catapult along with the 6 figures and horse so I don’t think 40 bucks is too much. Maybe 35, but any lower would be a steal. My only grip is you only get one Rohan Soldier with it and Eomar. I would rather of seen Eomar in another set (Helm’s Deep?)and made it 2 Rohan Soldiers instead in the army pack. Not a huge deal though.

I do hope in the future these sets go over really well and we see more Army builder sets like the Uruk-Hai one. I would love to see a “good guy” set with more Rohan or Minas Tirith soldiers, as well as a Warg pack, and a Moria Orc pack w/Cave troll (blast the only Cave troll and Moria orcs being in an 80 dollar set! ๐Ÿ™ )

admin May 4, 2012 at 6:25 PM

Dathleech, great thoughts! I also hope there is going to be many more battle packs! After all the armies in LOTR were huge! This is a theme LEGO fans have been dreaming about for years, so I’m sure LEGO will give us many more sets in the next few years. ๐Ÿ™‚

Deathleech May 5, 2012 at 2:46 PM

I sure hope so. I really can’t imagine Lego not making more LotR sets though. If they went through the trouble of obtaining the license and creating tons of new pieces for the line surely they will want to get their monies worth.

Plus we saw most the main good characters covered already, but there was no Saruman or Sauron in any of these sets. Obviously they will want to make some sets to include them seeing as they are two of the main evils in the LotR universe.

admin May 5, 2012 at 9:53 PM

Good points. Also, none of the ladies are made so far. I mean they were really major characters! Without them half of the story is lost! ๐Ÿ™

Legolasboy May 6, 2012 at 9:06 PM

i want all of them, and i hope i can create a orc army including urik-hia , morder orcs , and moria orcs.i wish the sets had more orcs or more urik’s becuz if you have read the books like me you would know that aragorn, gimli, haldir, legolas, and just about everyone else slaughters orcs so it would not make sense if ther wasnt a lot of orc legos than the sets wouldnt really lead up to expectations but really good! why r the ukik’s red?

admin May 6, 2012 at 9:45 PM

Yes, we need lots and lots of orcs! I believe the uruk-hai are actually dark-red (maroon); probably just to highlight their evilness and their face-paint. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

Lurtz455 May 8, 2012 at 3:46 AM

If i get the Helms Deep set and 2 Uruk Hai battle packs will i beable to put both of the extra wall parts from the battle packs onto the helms deep wall?

admin May 8, 2012 at 8:33 AM

Yeah, sure! Why not? LEGO can be mixed in any way you want! ๐Ÿ˜€

Scott May 8, 2012 at 10:00 AM

I thought I had finally broken the Lego habit. Finally sold all my Lego Star Wars sets. Now, I foresee another addiction.

admin May 8, 2012 at 10:25 AM

Scott, LEGO is a great hobby. It is clean, creative and compared to other hobbies not that expensive. But it does require some management of space and $$$. Personally I buy only sets that I really-really like, as I don’t have the room for a big collection. Also, I’m a builder, not a collector. As far as money, I own all my LEGO free and clear as I’m also a BrickLink seller. BrickLink is a great way to fund your hobby so there is no financial stress over it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think the LEGO fans who suffer the most are those with a collector’s mindset, who want to own everything LEGO makes in a certain theme; which is a lot! Since I’m a builder it is easier for me to manage my hobby, but it may be worth to start a discussion on how to keep the LEGO hobby enjoyable without any strains, as it does have the potential to get out of hand. ๐Ÿ™

Scott May 9, 2012 at 12:28 AM

I think you might have taken my comment too seriously. ๐Ÿ˜‰

admin May 9, 2012 at 8:46 AM

Scott, better to take things like that seriously unless indicated otherwise. I’m glad LEGO addiction is not a problem for you, however there are people who have serious issues with LEGO. It can in fact become an addiction (just like anything else); jeopardizing a person’s relationships and financial well-being. I have been around the LEGO community long enough to hear sad stories like that; especially about SW collectors. If not managed properly that theme has one of the worst reputations for getting out of hand. ๐Ÿ™

Lurtz455 May 10, 2012 at 3:53 AM

SWEET i am gonna have so much fun with these ๐Ÿ˜€

Frank May 11, 2012 at 5:12 PM

I want Shelob. Not because of the spider, But I must have Gollum. He’s my favorite character in the entire series. It would’ve been awesome if they included the Balrog in mines of moria or create a separate bridge of Khazad dum

admin May 11, 2012 at 5:39 PM

Frank, yes, Gollum is probably one of the most complex characters in movie history. He is truly fascinating in all aspects. A Balrog would be SO AWESOME! But it is such a heartbreaking scene. I cry every time I watch it. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Joshua Stewart June 27, 2012 at 4:37 AM

I would love a battle of helms deep and Urik-Hai army. Pity they dont have Legolas in it

Joshua Stewart June 27, 2012 at 4:38 AM

Pardon my poor grammor and spelling

Joshua Stewart June 27, 2012 at 4:44 AM

I reckon have an elf insted of Eomar, and Legolas insted of that suicide orc

miles December 31, 2012 at 11:55 AM

I like the last one more then all them
