There is something strange that supposed to happen to the four main characters of LEGO NINJAGO as the story of “NINJAGO – Rise of the Snakes” unfolds. This is evident from the NEW YORK toy-fair images.
NRG Ninja circled in red...
Kai, Jay, Zane and Cole will morph into their NRG state (which, according to some sources, refers to “energy”). So we will have an NRG Kai, and NRG Jay, an NRG Zane and an NRG Cole. (Yeah, we already had plain ninja, DX ninja, ZX ninja, and now NRG ninja. If you are a collector of them all, I feel sorry for your wallet!)
These are the first images of these special forms of the NINJAGO characters from the New York toy-fair; thanks to ASMzine.com, a HASBRO fan-site that has been covering the toy-fair since the year 2000. Enjoy!

I like the Green Ninja, but the NRG form of the four other ninja looks pretty evil to me. I don’t know if this is going to be the final design, or if LEGO is still working on them. Let me know in the comment section below what you think of them all!

LOL! Yeah, thay are kinda strange.
But they look awesome in the episodes!

I think Zane is the only one that looks like he’s on the good side to me. But Kai and Jay look like they want to do more harm than good. And Cole……… he just looks like he’s ALLLLLLLL for the bad side.

Yeah, these minifigs are a bit on the scary side. Interestingly, in the episodes they looked quite fantastic. I guess it is hard to get the same effect in a real minifigure. BTW, I have heard that the design on the NRG minifigs are holographic.
I hope by at least season 3 that they will be in this NRG form, but I hope the show’s animators will give a more….. good side look. But we all gotta agree though, these minifigures do look cool! I’m hoping somewhat and way, the ninjas will stay in this form, because even though they look like they want to do more harm than good (I’m POSITIVE the animators will fix that up) they look like together they’re an unstoppable force!

In other stuff, I hope the Four Ninja use their true potential powers, NRG forms, or whatever, more in Season 3. Once the ninja unlocked their true potential, the lack of their NRG powers in Season 2 was utterly disappointing. Fingers crossed!
