Yay! The LEGO City Mining sets are now available! This is a new kind of LEGO City category with different construction-vehicles related to mining – some of which remind me of the LEGO City Construction sets from a couple of years ago. Here are the LEGO City Mining sets currently available:
➡ #4200 LEGO CITY MINING – 4×4: The miner is driving his rugged Mining 4×4 and is on the lookout for gold. It won’t be easy, but with his dynamite, hatchet and drill, it won’t be long before he strikes gold. Blast the rock with the dynamite to find the gold nuggets and crystals! Includes miner minifigure. 102 pieces. $11.99
➡ #4201 LEGO CITY MINING – LOADER & TIPPER: Mining for gold is hard work! Luckily the miners have the Loader and Tipper to help transport the big rocks from the gold mines. Help them use the dynamite and hatchet to find the hidden gold! Includes 2 miners. 139 pieces. $17.99
➡ #4202 LEGO CITY MINING – MINING TRUCK: Big jobs call for big vehicles and heroes. The mighty Mining Truck was made for big building adventure. Load up the Mining Truck with rocks, transport the load out of the mine, set the dynamite charge and blast for the hidden gold! Includes miner minifigure. 269 pieces. $34.99
➡ #4203 LEGO CITY MINING – EXCAVATOR TRANSPORT: When the heavy work really starts, it’s time for the mighty Excavator. Unload it from the Transport Truck, fasten the drill and start breaking through the rock! Then switch the drill attachment for the bucket to scoop up even the biggest rocks! Includes 2 miner minifigures. 305 pieces. $39.99
➡ #4204 LEGO CITY MINING – THE MINE: The Mine is a busy place, full of miners digging for gold! Break up the rock with the big drilling machine and transport it out of the mine with the train. Then load it onto the conveyer belt with the crane and haul it away with the truck! There’s even a safe to keep the gold inside. Help the miners find even more gold by blasting with the dynamite! Includes 4 minifigures: crew chief, crane driver, driller and truck driver. 748 pieces. $99.99
I think the LEGO Mining sets are pretty cool! They are interesting sets to add to your LEGO City collection, and also they are great to get those gold crystal pieces, gold studs, and gold bars! The Mining sets should be available at your local toy-store, or they are you can definitely get them at the Online LEGO Shop.
So what do you think? How do you like the LEGO Mining sets? You can share your thoughts in the comment section below! 😉

first comment. Cool sets. I have seen them before love to get the 4×4.
Awesome! You may of convinced me to buy some!
Yep! Those are pretty cool! As I said, they are a great way to get those gold crystal pieces! 😉
Nice post very nice!
Thanks!
Very nace I mean nice. Sorry had to do that.
lego city sets are getting better and better each year . way to go lego!
I agree.
I especially like those new miner hats 😉 I like the Loader and Tipper best – one nice thing about City is that the sets are not that expensive 😉
Gid617, you love the 😉 face, don’t you?
Who doesn’t ?
Yes, the City sets are very nice and not that expensive compared to the licensed sets. Also, they are cheap on the secondary market as well. Doesn’t have all the buzz around them like the licensed set, but they are excellent. 🙂
Well thats partially true. Super hero (Dc universe) had (correct me if im wrong) a better price per piece ratio compared to these.
What a huge ripoff! The vehicles are decent but that isn’t even the process used to mine gold! You can’t just crack open a rock and get gold! It is far more complex than that! They aren’t even smelting it! Total ripoff completely lame!
(spark of controversy coming right after this post)
You sound very excited about the mining sets 😉
LEGO Chronicler, I thought the same about the rocks, but hey, it’s a toy. 😉
I LOVE those big rocks! They are some of my favorite LEGO parts! 😀
You wouldn’t expect kids 4-9 to know about that stuff. But if you are really displeased, why don’t you buy some and use them to create a more realistic mine yourself.
Actually, you can in fact mine gold like that. I used to live in Arizona and was involved with gold-mining, gold-panning for a while. And yes, if you find a gold-vein, you can just crack open the rock and the gold is right there in all of its glorious shine! 😀
Cool.
sweet sets! I like the mine the most 😀
That’s my favorite also! I would put some dwarves in it too, who would be guarding the gold and get in a fight with the miners. 😉
LOL LOL LOL!
Great article nace. You have convinced me to buy some of these. (Farewell Hero Factory budget) I myself am a KFOL (soon to be TFOL) thinking about sending in an article myself. Well great job.
Thank you. 😀 LEGO did most of the speaking in this article though.
😉
nice article Nace!!! 😀 Ya’ know I think i mite buy a set or put it on my B- day list. 🙂
Great sets! Finally, something besides police and fire! The trucks are cool. If you search for “mining truck” images online, they actually do look like that – and bright yellow too. Would be cool to build a huge Lego mountain with a mine like this on the side! Time to order thousands of gray bricks from Bricklink! 😉
I like small LEGO sets best, so i like the 4×4 most. 🙂
Hm… I like small LEGO sets too! 😀
Hey! Great post. I just got The Mine set #4204. If you want to get a feel of what it’s like to build it, check out this video. http://youtu.be/xNTwsXtXCsM
Nicely done video! Thanks for sharing! 😀
