LEGO Star Wars – The Empire Strikes Out

A new LEGO Star Wars TV special, called LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out, will premier on Cartoon Network on Wednesday September 26, 2012 at 8:00 PM. There will also be replays in the following days, so you will have several opportunities to watch it. After all; who doesn’t like LEGO cartoons? They always have great animation and funny twists and turns. 😛

Here is the official description of LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out: Get your lightsabers and LEGO bricks ready because a brand new LEGO Star Wars special is coming to Cartoon Network. Your favorite characters are back, and even though it’s just moments after the Death Star has been destroyed, Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca and the rest of the Rebel Alliance’s heroes have no time to rest on their laurels or stand around celebrating in the Yavin IV hangar bay.

In LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out, premiering Wednesday, September 26 at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT), a new Imperial threat has been detected and the good guys have to act fast. But Jedi-in-training Luke discovers that instant fame as a “Death-Star-Blower-Upper” can be a double-edged lightsaber, as his secret mission to Naboo is thwarted by those most unstoppable of foes — crazed fans! (It’s hard being the galaxy’s New Hope.) Meanwhile, Darth Vader sees his day go from bad to worse when his relationship with the Emperor is imperiled by the unexpected arrival of Darth Maul. Luke and Vader’s quests to prove themselves lead them on a collision course with each other (literally) and their destiny.

So tune in for the action, suspense and comedy on September 26 at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Cartoon Network! Also, here is the official LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out trailer to wet your appetite.

It is also likely that a DVD-Blu-Ray version will be released, which will likely come with a special edition LEGO Star Wars minifig. So stay tuned! 🙄

As always, the animation for these are top notch. However, if it is like the Padawan Menace, the humor and story is really oriented too low. I wish that this animation could be used to make something that is more like the LEGO licensed games, where adults can enjoy it at the same level as kids.

Jacob, that would be nice! Although I do like Padawan Menace… very much… I guess that shows my level of maturity. 🙄

Very cool, can’t wait to see it.( not to changes the topic of today. But, today happens to be the 75th anniversary of the book “the hobbit”. So, happy hobbit day.)

I’m looking forward to it. Cartoon network will also replay Padawan Menace a few time next week. Friday night Sept 28 Menace at 7:00 and Empire at 7:30.

    • admin September 21, 2012, 5:44 PM

Chris, thanks for that reminder! I sould also post Padawan Menace here. Maybe I will do it next week, getting ready for the The Empire Strikes Out. 😉

  • Eric at A Lego a Day September 21, 2012, 2:26 PM

Sweet. Didn’t know about the PM replays. Will have to catch those, too.

  • Jasper September 21, 2012, 6:14 PM

I would watch it except I don’t have CN. Will TheBrickBlogger post the episodes here like they are with Ninjago?

    • admin September 21, 2012, 9:04 PM

Jasper, the Empire Strikes Out will only be one show. It doesn’t have episodes. I will try to post it here as soon as it is allowed. 😉

I just figured this out. We all know the MAJOR delay in Ninjago episodes? This special was obviously causing the delay because the ANIMATORS didn’t have enough time to work on Ninjago, therefore causing a delay. But hopefully Ninjago will get back to it’s schedule. I mean, if you know that there is a special that is made by the same animators for another show, they obviously couldn’t multitask, so therefore there is a delay.

Stewbrick, good thinking, however please consider that all the work LEGO does starts at least a couple of years before it goes public. It is not like they are sitting there right now and they are working on episodes that will air next week. All of those things are worked out at least months, even years ahead of time. 😉

  • Weird. I went on here after doing stuff on my site and realized this has to do with my newest post. https://gamerforest.wordpress.com/2012/09/21/empire-at-war/

I wonder what special edition minifig they’re going to release with this one 😉 I was extremely satisfied with the young han solo minifig from the padawan menace……

    • admin September 22, 2012, 2:18 PM

Yeah, that is the BIG question! I haven’t heard anything on which minifigure will be included, but I will report it as soon as I find something. 😉

      • Dr. Inferno September 22, 2012, 3:21 PM

I wonder if it will be a darth maul with eight blades on his lightsaber 🙂

        • admin September 22, 2012, 4:00 PM

I swear Maul and Vader were never alive at the same time…

    • marty September 24, 2012, 2:03 PM

Continuity wasn’t followed in the Padawan Menace, but I thought it was still very entertaining. My kids loved it, I loved it, and even my wife loved too. I can’t wait for this one.

  • Dude September 24, 2012, 10:07 AM

I hope I get to see it! It looks epic! I love star wars!

  • maulmaul October 3, 2012, 3:59 PM

is this just a single episode, or will there be a series of LEGO Star Wars shows? My kids loved the show last week and I’m on a hunt to set the DVR and/or buy some discs. Thanks

    • admin October 3, 2012, 8:47 PM

It is just a single movie. No episodes. This is the second LEGO Star Wars movie as I mention in the article. Although the two are not related they are both fun (the previous one was released a year ago). Perhaps LEGO will make some more Star Wars mini-movies in the future, but at this point there are only two. You can buy the DVD version of the previous one, and although at this point there is no confirmation that the Empire Strikes Out will come out on DVD, it is most likely. Probably just in time for Christmas. 😉

  • Jay-MOL October 6, 2012, 8:27 PM

Yeah I will ask for that if it does! Cause its AWESOOOMMEE….AAAHHEESOOMME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!

  • Kara October 18, 2012, 11:10 PM

My husband accidentally deleted LSW: Empire Strikes Out today. Son VERY sad (5 yrs old). Any info on how to get a downloaded copy? Found one on you tube that someone video recorded while sitting on their couch watching it on TV, not good quality. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

    • admin October 19, 2012, 9:37 AM

Kara, I’m so sorry to hear that. The DVD should be coming out soon (most likely before Christmas), so you could wait for that. Another option is to check back on YouTube every once in a while and see if a full HD version has been uploaded. It could take a while because the uploader could get their account shut down, but after some time passes it is less likely they will run into trouble. If you do find a good quality one on YouTube download it quickly just in case it gets taken down. 😉
