This is the 4th year for LEGO Creations for Charity founded by Nannan Zhang and supported by many LEGO fans from around the world. You can have some fun, and also know you are participating in a great cause to raise money for underprivileged children during the holidays. How? Read the details below!
LEGO Creations for Charity is an annual fundraising event where LEGO builders from all over the world donate their creations to sell and raise money to buy LEGO sets for kids who otherwise wouldn’t have the chance to play with LEGO. In their first year in 2009, LEGO Creations for Charity sold 43 LEGO creations and raised $2,010. They purchased and donated almost $3,000 worth of LEGO sets to Toys for Tots. In 2010 they sold 120 LEGO creations and raised $9,035 from sales and monetary donations and donated over $14,000 worth of LEGO sets along with a check for $723 to Toys for Tots. In 2012 they sold 66 creations and raised $5,700. And despite the lower funds, they still managed to donate almost $9,200 worth of LEGO sets!
This year LEGO Creations for Charity is expanding their donations to two countries outside the USA: Chile and Croatia, and they need a lot more funds to buy enough LEGO to make this happen. They have already raised over 2,000 in the first two days and looking forward to setting a new record! Here is Nannan explaining how the process works and how you can participate:

➡ Donate your own LEGO creation to the charity drive. Fill out the donation form here before November 15th, and your LEGO creation will be listed at the LEGO Creations for Charity store. You’ll feel good knowing that you have brightened a child’s holiday with a LEGO set (or more)! You can also get reimbursed you for the cost of making your creation. This will make it easier to part with your LEGO bricks. If your donations contribute more than $50 to the fundraiser, you will also receive a special thank-you gift.
➡ If you don’t see what you are looking for at the store, you can head over to the LEGO Creations for Charity Indiegogo campaign to get a commissioned LEGO creation or pick up a cool LEGO gift! Here are some examples of what you can have an experienced LEGO builder do for you:
