If you own the #10228 LEGO Haunted House, the #9468 LEGO Monsters Fighters Vampyre Castle, or any of the other LEGO Monster Fighters sets, you know they are perfect for Halloween! They are spooky enough already with lots of scary details and minifigs, but if you can add some lights, you would increase the effect by manifold!
If you would like to give this this project a try, there are many ways to add lights to your LEGO Halloween settings. You can add LEGO light-bricks, you can just stick in a flashlight or some of those electric candles, or get fancy by installing a LED light-kit. Below I will show you a light-kit specifically made for the Haunted House, and you can adopt it to other LEGO sets also.
Spooky, huh? The light-kit used in the LEGO Haunted House above is put together by Artifex Creation as a custom kit. The Haunted House light-kit includes 32 LED lights with 10 light patterns (both static and flashing), all the wiring necessary, as well as a battery-box to make the whole thing work. Here is an overview picture of how the lights look when installed.
As you can see there are lights on every level of the house, including the attic. Full instructions on how to install the light-kit is at Artifex Creation’s website, with lots of pictures. If you already own some LED lights and the proper connectors this is a great place to learn how to install them in your LEGO project, or just get some tips and tricks.
If you don’t have any LED lights, but would like to get some check out Artifex Creation’s eBay Store. Getting the whole kit would assure a hassle-free installation. Artifex Creation also carries other LEGO light-kits, so if you are interested I would suggest you browse their store for the full selection.
