There is a Hong Kong based LEGO customizer I have been watching for a while named Breakthrough Army. They came on the LEGO customization scene early 2012 and have released some very impressive custom LEGO minifigure accessories. Check them out! 🙂
The reason I have been hesitant to introduce Breakthrough Army to our readers is because the prices are so high. In fact these are some of the most expensive custom LEGO accessories I have ever come across. I have been waiting for prices to come down, I even contacted them to see if they could do better, but it seems that prices are not going anywhere and LEGO fans are willing to pay them. At the same time Breakthrough Army keeps coming out with more awesome custom accessories, so I decided it is time to feature them here, as despite their success they are still relatively unknown.
Breakthrough Army’s custom LEGO accessories are super exclusive, and again; expensive. Their accessories are for your elite LEGO troops. So if you are the LEGO fan who has everything, and still have some cash left over (if you do, contact me, I would love to know your secret!), or you just have to own the most unique custom LEGO items, you might want to check these out.
Breakthrough Army’s custom LEGO accessories are centered around fantasy and video-game characters. Their line of products is small, but very unique, focusing mainly on various armor pieces; chest-armor, helmets, vambraces, etc. The pieces are cast in white ABS plastic then either professionally painted, or left plain, so you can work on it yourself.
There are some really beautiful and unique pieces like the World of Warcraft armor above, or unusual characters like the Scream face-mask below.
My most favorite custom LEGO accessory is the armor-piece below. Although it was originally designed for Vegeta from Dragon Ball, it works great for other Asian and fantasy characters.
There is also this pretty custom LEGO Queen Amidala dress that (unfortunately) came out right about the same time the LEGO version of Queen Amidala in #. However if your Queen needs an additional dress (and what queen doesn’t), she might like this one. 🙄
If you are interested in Breakthrough Army’s custom LEGO accessories you can check out their BrickLink store, or eBay store. You can also see more images of their products in their flickr gallery.
What do you think? How do you like these custom LEGO accessories? Are you planning to gift your minifigures with any of them? Share your thoughts in the comment section below! 😉

Its kind of bulky.
WOW these are some amazing customs. the iron man suit looks amazing.
where do we order this stuff?
i know its expensive, but how expensive is it?
Samuel, each item has a different price. Use the links in the article to visit their eBay and Bricklink stores for prices.
Samuel, the links to their Bricklink and eBay stores are right there in the article. 😉
Also, I don’t know what browser you are using, but I also have their eBay listings embeded right into the article with prices and all details. It seems like your browser is perhaps outdated or is blocking embeded items and therefore can’t see that. Anyhow, just use the links then. You should be able to see those as they are just plain links.
The Iron Man war machine is a little bulky, but the Iron Man minifigure isn’t quite as bad. 🙂
Meh. Nice sculpts, but they don’t feel like LEGO anymore. If I wanted highly detailed action figures, I’d buy action figures.
Eric, yes, some of them may be too highly detailed for some LEGO fans. Personally I really appreciate the art of custom LEGO accessories, as it requires a lot of skill and patience. Also, some of the accessories, with a more clean and minimalist design, like the SW trooper armor pieces or Vegeta’s armor, firts right in with LEGO. 🙂
Cool. I agree that they are a little to detailed and bulky but nevertheless they are outstanding.
I don’t like any of them except for the Sayin Armour… just WOW!!! oh and the Vegeta hairpiece… I would love me some DBZ LEGO.
Galaxy Squad is now available for purchase at LEGO.com
Micho, yeah, I know. I was debating if I should post about it tomorrow, but then someone else asked me to post for them, so I will write an update for Monday. In the meantime enjoy all the new Galaxy Squad, City, and Technic sets available now. Link to the online LEGO store is in the right-hand side-bar. Enjoy! 😛
admin, i am a lego customizer. i’m thinking of writing an article about them and send some pictures too! do you think that is a good idea?
Yes, of course! Make sure your pictures are good! Also you can share some of your tips and tricks for customizing. That would make a nice article. If you have any other questions just email me. 🙂
ok thanks! i’ll be working on it then!
That black spiky hair in the first pic looks pretty …interesting. 🙂
Turning minifigs into walking tanks… O_O
I am loving the iron man stuff from iron man 2, and the robocop 😀
I have been window shopping at BA for a while now but I just can’t find that badass Lich King armor. I’m seeing the sword, but not the armor. Are you also having this problem?
Yeah, looks like they are out at the moment. I would suggest to contact them and see when will the armor be back in stock.
